The reason the restaurant was empty is because most people understand that it’s a complete ripoff.

I live in the UAE, which is the spiritual home of Salty. His customers have million dollar cars and 100,000 dollar watches. 900 bucks for a steak is nothing to these people. Expensive but unchallenging is what wealthy diners in the UAE want. Fair play to Salty, I'll never eat there but I salute his ability to rinse the rich!

    • @sentryion3106

It depends. 100,000 watch can act as a status symbol and a sorta investment. 900 for a mediocre steak isn’t really the same.

The ice cream they use is Maraş Dondurma which has a slight chew to it. If you want an excellent baklava with maraş that isn't overpriced, the best choice is to either go to Bay Ridge at or go to Paterson in NJ to Antepli bakery which is an excellent bakery from Türkiye which happens to have said ice cream also. It'll be a whole lot less (around $8 or so with both) and it's outstanding. Would also highly recommend the künefe there. Outside of this, I went to the burger place a good while ago. It really wasn't bad though I understand the hate surrounding it. Apparently, the Istanbul and in general the original locations in Turkey aren't as overpriced.

there are three of these in Southern California. my grandparents took me to the one in Covina but we moved from Covina to Orange County and so the La Mirada location was closest to us that is off Valley view and the 5 freeway not too far from Disneyland. I highly recommend Clearmans North Woods Inn. obviously you're a carnivore you will have the best ribeye you've ever had in your life the ambiance is amazing and legendary as well as a trade secret to us native Californians. if you've been here and everyone especially the TSA agents at LAX know about this restaurant. the twice-baked potato is about a size 13 Nike! long before Olive garden was a business model The North Woods Inn was serving legendary garlic bread, bottomless iceberg lettuce salad with Roquefort dressing, their signature red cabbage salad. they give you a bucket of peanuts to eat while you wait for your entree and appetizer and you throw the peanut shells on the floor. if you've done a review of this I will find it on your channel. Good eats thank you for this.

I have a question that I am not sure you can answer.
Do you have an opinion and/or a preference about restaurants that sell a protein and then each side is price upgrade? I do not eat out a lot unless I am travelling on business but if I order a steak, I am expecting a choice of potatoes and vegetable included in the price. I also like a glass of water without asking for it... crazy, I know. In a recent video on NYC restaurant week I think the bread basket was not included?
No NYC restaurant is 'cheap' so most of the regulars go there expecting to pay moderately high prices. The concept of every item being an upcharge seems to spoil the event. Do Wall Street brokers worry about the price of each item, likely not. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated or maybe address it in a future video. Thanks in advance.
