The song is absolutely fantastic, a truly brilliant performance! The covers of Tim and Austin are already great individually, but together - WOW - phenomenal! The harmonies are incredible, and the ending is fire, top of the world. I love these guys!
The Righteous Brothers had a big hit with "Unchained Melody" in 1965. Home Free did such a beautiful rendition of this classic song. They added an old school doo-wop feel to it. The video in prison is very fitting as this song was originally written for the 1955 prison film "Unchained". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or finishing his sentence and returning to his wife & family.

In 1955 you had Al Hibbler, Les Baxter and Roy Hamilton on Billboard charts,then in 1965 there was the most acclaimed and popular version by Bobby Hatfield also the Manhattan Transfer did a remake of a cover in 1984. And a shout out to the original singer Todd Duncan who sang it in the movie.

this is the song performed by Bobby Hatfield [the righteous brothers] in front a live audience on tv on the andy williams show 1965. Bobby was only 25 years old when he sang this is just incredible. I mean his voice was just so powerfully polished and this is 100 percent live and way way before autotune obviously and no lip syncing. The back story behind this performance is absolutely amazing.
