  • This video shows how to install a wideband O2 sensor and how to set up a firewire with an SCT X4 programmer. This will allow you to be able to send datalogs of the AFR to a tuner or to log AFR for your own review. This was done on a Ford Lightning but the process is similar for almost any car using an SCT device with Firewire.

    I'm almost done with my datalogs with my new motor on my lightning and I've been having a hard time figuring out dataloging the AFR so I can finish my email tune..
    Idk what I did wrong and maybe you might know but I'm using a zeitronix wideband, which was working before. When I tried to hookup my firewire it would only read on my sct device. On the zeitronix box it says the white is wideband output and brown is sensor ground. So orange from firewire goes to white on zeitronix and brown to black? Any help is appreciated thanks

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  2 роки тому +1

      Dang. I have no experience with that brand of wideband. If it's reading right on the sct that's all you really need. But that's kind of crazy because basically the sct is an output from the wideband. Sorry I wasn't more help.

    I could use some help with the data log when I put in the equation on live links I start the data log it Reads zeros on the wideband u have any Suggestions I would appreciate it

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  3 роки тому

      You have to choose which wire you are logging (red or orange usually). This is done in Livelink. Also, if the equation is entered correctly, which I assume it is, then a next likely cause for me would be that there is some sort of connection issue in your Firewire. You can use a multimeter to test that the voltage signal is making it into to Firewire properly. At idle, you will be around 14.X so if you do a little algebra with the equation, you can guess what your voltage should be (give or take). Hope this helps!!!

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  3 роки тому

      Does the gauge read zeros? I may have misunderstood your question.

    • @ethanott9385

      Sorry no when I start the data log it reads 0000s in live links

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  3 роки тому

      @@ethanott9385 I would maybe check your equation. For example, with this AEM X series wideband, the equation is AFR = 2.375(V) + 7.3125. if you look at the equation, if the system was disconnected, V=0. If that happens, then Livelink would read about 7.3125 for the AFR. If it's reading an AFR of zero though, that would mean V equals about -3.08V. Thats a really random number and doesn't sound likely. I'm betting something in the equation is screwed up or you're logging the wrong wire in the Firewire. See what you find.

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  3 роки тому

      Seems to be just fine. I have never had anything to compare against though. This is just what my tuner recommended to install so I just followed along. Its possible though you could have an injector fail on the opposite side and not pick it up with this setup.

    So you only have to hook up the fire wire. Do you have to ground any of the fire wires. I have the SCT cable and they list an analog and an analog ground

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  2 роки тому

      Yes. The analog ground in my situation was pulled through the actual sct device. There is more than one way to do it but in this instance, that is how I did it. 👍

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  2 роки тому

      I've never done an innovate but my understanding is you need two wires to log the voltage in the sct. That said, in my instance, I am logging the red wire I believe (would need to check the video) and getting the ground through the sct (using the same ground as the ground that allows the x4 to operate).
