I had a 2016 206tsi awd for a few years. They really are a sleeper. The road holding in the wet is crazy and and electromagnetic suspension settings do make a huge difference. The lift back, as reviewed, is a great hybrid between sedan looks and wagon practicality.
@@RossReviewsau Yeah it isn't quite as big as my G6e Turbo, but is bigger than the similarly specced Passat R. I actually prefer the interior to the Passat too. Three car seats will fit across the back.
Great video. They’re definitely a sleeper. I got the same year Sportline last year for a new daily. I wanted a turbo with at least 200kw, 4wd, less that 5 years old and no more than $32k. This is the only option so I went with it and am so glad I did!
I’m glad I didn’t hold my breath for this one lol. Seriously mate I love your channel and this video. I own a 2019 Skoda Superb Sportline with a stage two tune it has just over 300kw / 550 nm . At the wheels This car is truly one of the fastest cars that I have owned. I honestly can’t believe how good it is I did a 4.6 to 100kph on stage one. I haven’t timed on stage 2 yet but my tuner thinks it may go into the 3s. I have owned some serious Aussie muscle cars in the past that have not delivered this kind of performance. Please don’t get me wrong I LOVE my Aussie muscle cars .
Fell in love with these when I saw a walkaround tour of San Marino, and all the government officials got drove around in grey Superbs. I wanted one in wagon form for the dog but they're not cheap, ahh c'mon lottery!!!!!
Never seen one of these before but I can definitely see VW inside the cabin which is tastefully done. A really good looking sedan! Nice review on a ride that's definitely under the radar, especially here in the States! Keep up the good work bro
A few years ago i was looking at the wagon version and the vw passat wagon 206. They are basically the same car. I think they had 350nm and the golf r had 380nm.
Ive got a 2 litre sel executive tdi superb and the spec on it is unbelievable. You put it in sports mode and it does 0 to 60 in about 6ish seconds. Its a vw branded car but for a lot less money it’s a great car
I have not Superb, but an Octavia 2014 with 1.8TSI turbo engine. It is only FWD, but the engine has its torque in a very wide range in engine rpm: from 2000 to 5500 it has the maximum. It can be also tuned with +100Nm (!) on stage 1, which means this engine is has a lot of potential. And also my car can causing a lot of surprise on the road, because it seems a normal Octavia, but it is better, than people thinks :D In Hungary we have a lot of these Skoda cars on the roads, but the most of them have the 1.6 or 2.0CRTDI engines, or the 1.4-1.5TSI engines, which are fine, but the 1.8TSI is a surprise, if I press the gas pedal, I really like this thing in my car. There are RS models from Octavia with 2.0TSI or 2.0TDI engines, but these cars has different bumpers and has also RS badges on the front and back, so people knows, that this is a bit faster Octavia. My car has none of them, so the people don't think that :D And also the Octavia has a lot of clever, but nice features. And these small features makes a car really usable in the daily use, you didn't showed all of them ;)
Hey Mate,I've never driven one but she goes great 5.2 tuned is fast,it seems like a nice package all round, has a very clean look inside with all the gadgets you'd need,I don't like the boot with some kidnapped bloke in there haha, but other than that sweet as,nice review Johnny thanks.
Hi Jonathan, Excellent channel. Great review Great car These Superb vehicles are so underrated. Similar in size to VF Commodore & FG Falcon. Such a roomy car for 5 people. FYI Skoda began in Europe nearly 100 years ago VW bought 30% of Skoda in 1991. They increased their ownership over the following years, and took it over fully in 2000. Skoda / VW / Audi vehicles share many under body components, and engines, interior bits etc. In recent times, Skoda have been in Australia since 2007. Initially under full VW Australia control. They have operated in Australia with a lot more independence since approx 2017, but still part of VW Australia Group. Superb been sold in Australia since about 2010. It’s such an excellent vehicle. Superb has had many upgrades since 2017. You should go and look at a new one at a Skoda dealership in Perth ? Available as the sedan / Liftback OR a wagon. Since bringing the small Kamiq SUV to Australia in late 2020, along with a 140tsi version of Karoq SUV, in addition to the 7 seater Kodiaq SUV, their sales in Australia have increased a lot. Skoda sold over 9,000 new vehicles in Australia last year. If there was not semi conductor shortages etc, they would be easily selling over 1,000 new cars per month in Australia, IF they could get decent supply from Europe. The Skoda Octavia RS uses the Golf Gti engine. Skoda #simplyclever.
@@RossReviewsau Thanks I’m very much into anything automotive I’m a Holden fan, but I do like and appreciate the V8 & turbo 6 Falcons. Nice review. The adaptive dampers do not lower the car. Internal shock valving changes to increase bump and rebound stiffness, height doesn't change at all, in any capacity, on any VAG 'DCC' equipped model. That one in particular also does have launch control hehe. Great video, keen to see some more Euro stuff!
I reckon these are excellent sleeper cars and I'd rather get one of these instead of a Golf R (Because they aren't as common)... That being said, I don't know if VW mechanicals are a good thing or a bad thing... Great review though 👍
Bad thing about Skoda is availability of parts, plus after sales service from the Volkswagen group. I nearly bought one a few years back until I read some online reviews. Keep em coming JR ...
Wish the Spanish Cupra brand was was available in Australia. Seem like quick cool cars with good technology. I'm pretty sure they are from the Seat car company 👍

Better than a barra, more bang for your buck. 300kw atw with this car would insanely fast, would love to see a barra try to keep up with this car 😂
Stage 2 300kw has to have stage 3 upgrades to make that at the wheels
Ur not getting 300atw unless u upgrade the turbo or run e85.
Would still rip though
