- You can tell a lot about a person by whether or not they drive a Skoda Superb. If they do, they're smart - they know it's the best-value estate car on the market, a car that drips with capacity (boot space not engine size) and majors on comfort. It's a car that says: "Yes. I have a family. And maybe a dog. And I've picked the best car for under £30k." If they don't drive a Skoda Superb, it's probably because they've just not watched this video yet.

Would you do this on the driving test? or even the IAM assessment? Or teach Learners to follow your example? Come on, be honest.
@@rmbandy835 the last thing I’d ever want is for someone to think I’m part of the IAM. The world has enough boring people. Also, look at how many other people on UA-cam look at cameras while driving. It’s part of the way you make videos. Heaven forfend you find my motorbike channel, I even take my hands off the bars occasionally! I reckon there’s an accidental wheelie or two on there as well if you want to be properly offended. I’m happy to start Tim Rodie Clutches Pearls for you as a side channel, but I’m not sure people would watch it…

We used to own a black Superb Estate. We were so happy with it that when we needed to upgrade to a 4x4 (cabin in the Norwegian mountains) we ended up with a … black Superb Estate L&K with 4x4😅
Excellent car. Not a single thing has broken on any of the two Superbs we have owned.

Got a 190bhp, 2.0Tdi, DSG, Sportline, Estate and it's the best car ever!! The Sportline just looks so good too!
I'm probably a very weird man, but I think that this Superb video is a much bigger treat than a Mustang video.
Best car I’ve ever had. In my opinion it’s better than the merc (which I’ve had). Solid, huge, drives well and is insanely reliable. Excellent kit. Brilliant towing car.
My son drives one and likes it a lot. He drives me around and I feel very safe and comfy in it. Great on long journeys. This was a really nice review - well done!
I've got the Skoda Octavia Estate 4x4 since 2013. 210.000km on the dash right now. Would you believe if I told you I have only changed the rear brake calipers? That's it. Factory bushings, factory brake discs, factory suspension, factory everything. And every year I do at least 2000km towing a 1200kg trailer. Every oil change I ask the mechanics to tell me what bushings need replacement at the next checkup and they always tell me "It's rock solid, nothing to change". I have not even changed 1 light bulb anywhere!! It's unbelievable.. In a few days the car will be 10 years old and it's still in mint factory condition..
More people need to experience the joy of estate car ownership.
I agree 100%, cannot imagine going back to a saloon or hatchback. As a bonus, estate/touring versions of most cars now, and it certainly includes the Superb, are the best looking too.
Nothing better than a quick estate.

@@Coops4343 still a dying breed, no sign of any decent large EV estates, they're all SUVs, unfortunately.
Its a crime the only EV estate car is the MG 5 - not that there's anything particularly wrong with it but I would prefer a more premium option.

As an 80s kid, i was verrry resistant to the brand...and i pretty much fell in love with our Superb within 5 minutes of getting in and driving it! Don't quite get your economy because we have the L+K 4x4 version, but 50ish on a run is fine. It's comfy, it takes care of you and practically drives itself if you enable all the self drive features (and has several times reacted to hazards much faster than i would). Even when you're completely knackered and have a long way to get home, it gets you home painlessly and with about half the effort of driving anything else. And nothing ever goes wrong with it. I've had cute sports cars, massive executive bank account drainers, and i've never loved a car like i love this one!
PS no we don't have kids. We have a small dog which very much enjoys the penthouse suite in the boot. But we do spend a lot of time in the car, and the extra space is brilliant.
I bought a 63 plate superb estate for under £8k and 80k miles and it's absolutely amazing. Felt a touch expensive but I couldn't resist. Might not have tons of modern tech but it's comfortable, reliable, and got absolutely tons of space. Only downside is it's a bronze colour!

What exactly does this 'plate' thing mean? Over the years on different threads i've come across several times someone referres to their plate. As a foreigner how should i read from that what year your car is? Thanks.
Got a 2018 superb sportline 4x4 dsg estate. The video is spot on plus lots of little things that make it brilliant. I am 6 3 and will easily fit in the back seats with it my position setting on the seat setting
I had a Superb diesel for 4 years and it was great. Now have an Octavia VRS diesel which is different but just as good.
I’m on my second. I leased one for 2 years and was so happy with it that I leased a second. I was so happy with that one that I bought it when the lease ended. That was 3 years ago and I don’t anticipate changing it any time soon because it just does its job so well. Perfect complement to my MX-5.

Couldn’t agree more. Perfect mix of family wagon and executive transport with heaps of room in the back. I preferred the Diesel over the 206kW petrol as the Diesel is so much more understated and more torque.
I have always driven combi’s many Fords as they had the edge on tech up to a point, but handling was always great.
Waited 3 years for the Aston lookalike Mondeo to materialise and gave up waiting and bought a mk. 4 focus S combi instead, but no legroom in rear.
That’s when l went to Skoda and found a Karoq 2.00 DSG, diesel 4x4 and now l have not looked back, all the tech works it handles as well as Fords, as big as it is and like you l find its very economic, I am sold.
Very useful practical review as I’m thinking of getting one. Especially the a blue bit. No other review has covered that. Well done 🎉

Just had my new company car. Skoda Octavia SE Technology. It's 2.0 diesel. It's a pretty low spec and it's the 116 PS engine, but I absolutely love it. Had 3 Octavia's now and Passat's, but it's like a completely redesigned car compared to the older versions.
It's a lovely car. Brilliantly thought out interior. Super comfy. All the kit you could need and for 26k it's a hell of a lot of car.
The engine has plenty of torque and although only the 116 PS version, it pulls well enough. It does the same MPG as my old 1.6 diesel, but now has a 6 speed manual box which means it's doing less than 2000rpm at around 80mph (on the odd occasion I go that fast ;).
I'm so happy with this Skoda. I'd genuinely buy one for myself if I was in the market for a new car. I'd go for the SE L though and the 150PS version.
Can't recommend it enough.
How does it compare to the previous models you've had (Mk3)? Would you recommend older Octavia models
@@ETH92 the older models were all very good too. Super reliable and decent standard kit. It’s just the newer model is quite a big leap forwards.
You can’t go too far wrong with the older models though. I’d just steer clear of the 1.6 diesel if you can. The 2.0 diesel will be near enough the same mpg, but you’ll get a 6 speed box and that torque that makes it feel nicer to drive.

Very tempted by the Superb estate. Ideally a 190 tdi 4x4 would suit me perfectly. My current car will stay for a few more years but I'll definitely consider one when it's time to change.

I've got a MY18 220PS sportline hatch. First thing I did was change the dampers to a set of koni special actives so it stopped bouncing like a trampoline everywhere. It's quick ish, now handles pretty well, and is relatively frugal.
I own a 2020 superb with 272 horses and four wheel drive. It is a blast on long trips, but horrible maneuverability and the seats make me cry.

I picked up a 2015 Skoda superb 1.8t wagon. Due to a miss-diagnosed engine issue I paid $1000 for my dark grey wagon with one previous owner, 170,000kms and a full Skoda history. It is an amazing car, huge inside, comfortable, quiet, efficient. I seriously have rocks in my head for daily driving a Cayenne GTS when I have this sitting here. Recently i loaded it with enough material to do a 300m2 Epoxy flake floor, which is about 400-500kgs worth of boxes and drums. No problem whatsoever! Bravo...

I'm driving one as a taxi LK superb Saloon customers love it. So spacious and it has been very reliable. I have done 80k miles even the mechanics suprised that break pads and disc doesn't need to change.
I'm a petrol head too. Had Alfas and other interesting stuff, but now with the kids I have a Citroen C4 Picasso. Doesn't make me any less of a car enthusiast. Thanks for the review

My next car (second hand) is definitely going to be an estate as I have a dog, so I'm always keen to read/watch about estates.
The Skoda estates have stood out so far. I was also thinking of ex-police dog estate but I've not saw much in terms of reviews or articles on them.
Looking for an economical and reliable estate so this was a good watch, lot of good relevant information. It wasn't boring to me 😅 this is the car videos I love.

Tim I’m Australian & bought the Superb Sportline “wagon” 206kw in 2017. It’s easily the best car I’ve owned. Among cars owned have been BMW 7 Series, Mercedes A Class, 2014 model then a Mercedes GLC, 2015. The Superb being the 2 Litre petrol up spec engine is a wolf in sheeps clothing. I love everything about it & have no intentions of moving it on!👍🏼 My other car is the 2018 For Mustang Bullitt, so I’m looking forward to your review.😈😎

Same, mine is a 2016 model. Love it. The only things that have gone wrong, the rear air vents have broken (still pending fix) , the stop-start button stopped working (replaced on my own) The driver side glove box compartment has broken (due to use for putting face mask in there during covid). Unfortunately haven't been able to find a replacement, the dealer quoted $800 :o
@@faisalqureshi5882 My glove box too had a slight malfunction. It wouldn’t stay shut. Appeared the little probe wasn’t locking in. Managed to fix it although I was promised a replacement from Skoda, which won’t happen. Aside from that I love it!

when you said the space in the back, that reminds me of when i was renovating the house with my dad. my dad drives a Superb, it is *fucking enourmous* and i recall we went to a hardware store, pick up floorboards, pick up cement bags and other stuff and *everything fitted without having to drop the rear seats down*
Superb is a great car, but to feel it full potential you need 4x4 280hp version and a few mods: ecu tune, suspension and brake pads. It’s just a beast, take all the pros from this video and add a dynamics of a supercars of a 90s, 4.6 sec 0-100 is not a joke, plus pretty decent handling and driving engagement. I tried a lot of cars, and the good specked 4x4 superb is just unbeatable for its price.
Finally, an honest car reviewer! Thank you for taking the time to review the superb estate. I'm on my 2nd Octavia and the superb will be next. Out of interest, what's it like to park?
I've got one & there's no denying it is quite long (4,862mm) however, rear sensors / camera (on some models) make it a doddle. Mine's got Park Assist - never used it.
I had a motorbility top spec, and I loved it. I can't drive now, but still think about this car. Quick, quiet enough and has zero problems with it. No Bluetooth problems on my android. Can't say enough good things about my Superb. Three years flashed by far too quickly. All my neighbours were quite envious too! How skoda has risen from the flames since the old days. Jungle green estate. The bees knees.

Thanks for the video. I was searching for a replacement for our 17 years old family-Astra-Caravan. I wanted a big boot and also enough space for our two children... for about the next 10 years to come. And no, SUVs were never an option. My wife insisted on a manual transmission and so... there was only one car left: The superb. A good choice, love this car :)
I had a Superb SE Technology as a company car for 3 years and a bit. I absolutely loved it. Now it got replaced by Skoda Enyaq iV60, which I love even more.
The 280hp sportline edition with haldex 4x4 is a proper sleeper car, makes a few people surprised at traffic lights.
They even better with a chip tune apparently...

I have the same spec and engine, but the Executive SEL not the Sportline one, on a 2018 model, and I love it.
At that time the dealer matched CarWow, so it was minus 25% on the price, and I spent some of that on a few options.
I specced it on the ability to carry a stack of house doors flat in the back, and it can.
I think you are doing better for overall mpg than I do - I cannot get above 65mpg on a motorway at slow lane speed cruising, but my journey mix is more difficult.
Currently exploring boot jumps to make it into a micro-camper.

I have the Octavia mk4 and I love it. Besides the troubles with the alarm bell going off randomly. They just are not able to fix it. In February they will have another look at it.
Owned a Superb 200bhp in 2012 and that already was a great car.
I have owned a 2017 Superb est for the last 2 years and it has been a revelation, well built in every way - reliable - spacious etc etc the list goes on. Just about to have it's second oil change with me and a cambelt change due to time not mileage. £20 a year road fund - 50mpg all the time on my local around town runs - what is not to love.
That’s with all the emissions tech on board too. Impressive.
Hope it's not DSG. Or 1.6 TDI.
Reliable? tell that to my car. Skoda superb where there are a whole lot of problems. The water pump failed at 40k miles and at 50k miles the whole dsg box stopped working. fortunately, thanks to the Skoda all-in warranty, the repairs were done at no cost to me.

I had a 2018 skoda superb 2.0 190 tdi dsg sel executive estate last year, and it was and still is the best car I have ever owned, it was spacious beyond my wildest dreams it was comfortable, it was extremely economical and with 190 bhp on tap it had more than enough punch. I used to daily drive my bmw m3 for work. But the skoda beat it hands down .it would nudge 150 mph on the autobahn and on the north coast 500 I got 1,100 from one tank of diesel. The superb is simply that its superb. My car was fully loaded with pan roof full leather ,sat nav dvd player heated front and rear seats. Auto tailgate etc etc and it was still the bargain of the century. Best car I have ever owned. We only sold it as we had ordered a brand new t6.1 volkswagan 204 dsg lwb highline transporter camper van .I love my van but I sure do mis the 68 mpg lol at best my only does 32 mpg.
I had a 2017 octavia estate, SE-L from new as a company car, did everything you need from a diesel, the adaptive cruise was a revelation, only a dark interior and sod all ambient cabin lighting let it down. did 80'000 with (tyres and brakes apart) only a battery needed,apparently they had a duff batch back in the day.
I am on my second Superb 2022 model SE L Estate in grey and love it. My last Skoda was a Kodiaq Sport Line in Black, a great car, but a bit hard on the suspension probably because of the 21" wheels. The space in the Superb is (dare I say it?) "Superb", both in the boot and for the rear passengers. Everything about Skoda is brilliant. They have the same, if not sometimes better, build quality as more expensive cars. After a total of 6 Skodas over the years I will not change to another make.
I bought a 16 plate octavia 1.4 estate this year and I love it. I think I’ll upgrade to a superb estate 280 in about 5 years time.
I’m one year into owning a 206 Sportline wagon. Awesome car. Replaced a Subaru gen 4 R3.0b. The only gripe I have is the seats are just not as supportive as the Suby. Very comfortable but I always feel like I’m sitting on them rather than in them.

I'm a proud Skoda Superb owner since beginning of september, mine's a manual instead of an automatic, but I'm absolutely loving the car. My previous car was a Jaguar S-type. It's such an upgrade. Such a comfy car, fuel economy is fenomenal compared to the 20 year old Jaguar V6 I used to drive for about a year and a half. To anyone wanting to buy a spacious car, with great fuel economy, this is the car to buy, a Skoda superb with the 2.0L TDI.
I love mine, it's a 2013 1.6 tdi greenline with a high spec. Bought from where my partner works as it was a company car being disposed of with fantastic service history. It came with 175,000 miles on the clock and now has 212,000 and still drives extremely well with only basic servicing. I really see no reason to change it,
We have a fabia estate, and I can say the same about that car... For a small car, it's insanely practical and economical and pleasant. And exciting enough....
If I needed a bigger car, I think this would be my go-to option

@@comedyman112 I imagine it's a pretty good middle ground. We chose the fabia for fuel efficiency and £20 a year tax (and the short wheelbase is useful for maneuvering in our tight street)

Totally agree. I'm driving the 2nd Superb Combi now - both as company cars. the first has been the 190HP 4x4 diesel and now the PlugIn Hybrid for 2 years.
Findings:
The old Infotainment has been way more stable and I definitely prefer the matte screen and the mechanical buttons for most relevant functions over the new fingerprint collection device.
Electric driving is pretty cool, a bit more electric range would be nice.
The massive weight of the PHEV in combination with FWD makes it performing relatively bad in winter conditions when you face a steep slope on the way to your home.
The active matrix LED is incredible useful in rural environment.
They started to save on the newer models: Only one umbrella in the doors, detachable lamp in the boot became a normal fixed one.
Compared to Volkswagen Passat the boot is 6 cm longer - Parts of a Bed or even doors for rooms, which are here 2m long will fit in the superb, but not in a Passat.
Break Discs of the 190HP 4x4 are a bit weak for the car when driving in a more sporty style or very fast on German highways. The 280HP petrol version comes with larger brake disks. De to the help or recuperation, this doesn't seem to be much of an issue with the heavier PHEV.
Excellent summary, happy superb IV owner for a year now too.

Might not be an exciting review, but it's good honest reporting that makes more sense to the average driver.
I'm not interested in arriving somewhere first. I'd like to arrive the most relaxed.
I remember driving this years ago and it was superb. Only downside were the seats, too wide. Perfect travel car.
Massive, efficient and comfy. Ticks all my boxes. Just need to find one with motorway miles and adaptive cruise control and I'm pretty much set

No need to be so apologetic, Tim. I've had my Superb Combi for five years. I have a similar spec to yours with the same engine and the economy never fails to amaze. 60mpg around town, 65-70mpg on trips, and now & again you get a mental number in the early 80's. Oh, and only £20 road tax. It's been my long distance companion for over 50k miles and I'll keep it until it dies. With the solid build quality, this may be a looong time!

I compromised, and got the 2L TDI Octavia Estate, couldn't quite stretch to the Superb. It does everything that you say, brilliantly economical (best result on a day trip 81.6 mpg), loads of room (boot is like a builders skip), great towing car (all VW 2.0 diesels seem to be), reliable and comfortable.
All I am sacrificing, compared to the Superb, is about 4" in length and a smaller fuel tank. The filter warning light came on once, so I did 25 motorway miles at 70 in 3rd gear to clear it and still got 47 mpg out of it.
I own a 2Lt superb and can't fault your review. The car is so good I'm already fretting about what the heck I should buy to replace it when the fateful day arrives. Seriously though it is a hell of a good car and I can't fault mine.
I've had 5 of these and I love items I put a single bed in one and never had to move any of the front seats plus I taxi I it man the luggage capacity is a winner 🏆

Great review Tim. I bought a MY22 Kodiaq at the beginning of June and its brilliant. I wanted a wagon as I had a Mazda CX-5 that didn’t have enough load space for me. At over 4800 mm the Surperb would not fit in my garage and the new Octavia had poor reviews on its infotainment system and lack of analogue hardware for HVAC and radio. As I need a flat floor the Superb was also crossed off my list because Skoda Australia are cheapskates and no longer import their wagons with the variofloor system and hence no flat floor. Also, no diesel in Australia anymore. So I bought and could get with a fairly short wait time, the 4700 mm Kodiaq base model called “Style” but I added the Tech pack and Luxury pack, electric towbar and 7 year warranty and service package and I feel like I got a raised Superb. Storage space is phenomenal (we only get the 7 seater) and rear legroom is so vast the kids actually move the back seat forward a bit for better comfort!! Keep up the great work. Lloyd

@@ETH92 I loved the CX-5. I owned a GT 2.5 Turbo which has 184kW of power (using BP98 always) and 420Nm or torque. I looked at upgrading to the diesel CX-8, but it was a lot more expensive than the Kodiaq in the spec level I wanted. Also, Mazda is still operating tech than has got to be nearly 10 year old now. After just over 18 months with the Kodiaq, I would probably go back to Mazda if the opportunity arose as there are too many gremlins that I have had to start living with such as the infotainment rebooting about once a fortnight for no reason.
I had two Skoda Octaves SEL 1.5 And they perfect and nice to drive .
Had one as a co car for 4 years. A 2017 one. SE L Executive, fully loaded with extras. I put 134,000 miles on it. It Was excellent , I used to go Fly Fishing a lot and could just open the boot and put the fishing rods in it through the Ski hatch without taking a rod apart. It did need a water pump at 98K and two rear shocks a little while later but that was it. Good car the only thing I would change was I felt I wanted more hugging, sporty front seats as the standards are a bit 'Benchy'
Got a Superb iV Estate after a lifetime of 3 series estates. It’s amazing, ok obviously not nearly as fun to drive as my old 330i, but so relaxing and comfortable, huge boot and roof capacity (often have up to 6 bikes on it) and the fuel economy, even in hybrid mode, is insane. Charge at home on overnight cheap rate and for day to day driving the motor never kicks in as have 25-35 mile battery range (weather dependent). Even on long journeys I’m hybrid mode getting 54mpg which is amazing for a huge estate.
Currently have a 2021 Octavia company car which has the SOS issue fault. My issue is the fault would reset every time I turned engine off. Eventually I had to go to a Skoda dealer once the fault had popped up to get them to sort it. Since sorted the infotainment etc is perfectly fine
I'm the same. I've had two Octavia's and they're the only cars I've ever 'loved' in a material way. Little touches and everything works with less complexity than my previous Audi A5, VW Golf and my partners MB GLA.
I intend to sleep in it, tow a boat and tour Europe in it... not all at once.

Skoadas are awesome. Had a 09 Octavia for over 7 years. Same engine as yours, MPG could hit 70 easily, the highest I saw on a 35 mile drive was 79.5. 800 miles to a tank (55L) all year round, and the boot + cubby/storage was insane.

whats better on fuel the engine you have or the 1.9 tdi pd engine? and hows the road noise in the octavia their supose to be loud inside?
@@lazycarper Can't answer the first question, but I would guess they're fairly similar, in which case you'll not have any problems. Road noise is comparative and subjective, but I did around 80,000miles in mine and hardly noticed it, certainly the quiestest car I'd owned until recently.
Someone just crashed into the back of my 2014 superb estate. Gutted, it was a great car and did a fantastic job of protecting my family in the crash. Absolutely superb.
I have had a 17 Superb Sportline wago. - the AWD 206kW variant. It has been great, approaching 130,000km since new. It is quick enough, and if you want to go quicker lose two wheels!
The SOS button fault also pops up on most days for me. It’s only locked up once and I had no infotainment system for 3 weeks. It was solved with a software update but still reps happening. I have had a replacement component on order for about 18 months but unfortunately I am told they were manufactured in the Ukraine. It’s the only problem I have had in my Superb IV Sportline Plus.
Can’t beat a traditional large estate car - I’ve had several over the years (as did my dad), and I’ve always found them to be the most practical of cars, and in many cases, very handsome. I’d have one over an SUV anyday.
I have the 2020 version of the 2.0 SE Technology diesel and its great. It has a manual box and my long term average is 67mpg. I did a few brim to brim fuel tank tests compared to a standalone GPS mileage recorder and the computer is accurate. The car will do 1000 miles on a tankful as I have done it a few times. London to Glasgow and return on a tankful is easy. I have driven about 200,000 miles in Superb's and have never had a single mechanical problem with them. I did once have a minor radio software issue that was fixed under warranty a month from new. Even my last set of brake pads went an amazing 112,000 miles, but I do drive mainly on motorways and dual carriageways. What don't I like? I hate the electric handbrake which I have never fully mastered. The dynamic cruise control is best suited to automatic gearboxes, so if that is important to you don't buy a manual gearbox version unless you don't mind being beeped at a lot by the various warning systems. The car is a great long range cruiser and eats 400 mile driving days easily.
I have had two Skoda Superb’s and they were amazing cars with no problems and so comfortable. Only downside is handling at speed which can be a bit drifty… still a great car. Now have a Kodiak which is simply awesome and handles slightly better and has all the stuff that was great with the superb. Boot still better on superb mind you. - the shape is better. I think I am sold on Skoda….
My Superb iV had the SOS button issue too. Had a firmware update at the dealer for free (Took all day) but it's sorted now and hasn't happened since. That was over a year ago now.
Ah that's good to know! I'd heard that the software update takes all day… madness
I've got the 2017 model, only negative is that it's noisy inside but this can be solved with some sound proofing material and by changing the tires. This is amazing value for money, no thrills, no fancy badge, but everything you need. Engine is great on the motorway, just feels totally at ease when going between 60-100mph. If you map the engine you can get 250hp out of this. Sadly my partner is agains this idea for some reason.

My wife bought a 2 year old Skoda Octavia 2.0 L diesel estate 14 years ago and refuses to change it !
Got one in 2013 with 12k on clock, SE plus spec , now done 150k. Never missed a beat. Best car ever had
I have a 2017 superb 2.0 tdi manual. Not an estate but still huge capacity. 165000 miles. Only problem was clutch & flywheel. Dirt cheap yo run & a a ferocious beast if you push it on in 4th & 5th gear. Ferocious on European motorways.
I love the VW family estates. I got a ‘17 Seat Leon with a 1.4 tsi dsg 150 hp with 8k miles for 12k and I’ve been loving it! Couldn’t have gotten a better car for the money. Had some Skodas on my watch list but for the same year and budget they all looked so sad on the inside.
This review might as well be of my 1.0 TSI DSG Octavtia estate. Tons of space (just got the one kid), super economical, faultless (except for the infotainment which sometimes crashes :)), quiet on the motorway, more than comfortable enough, the opposite of exciting.... overall, super happy with it.
I had a 2016 Octavia 1.4 SE petrol from new (my son's from 2018). I've had a 2018 Superb 2.0L petrol SEL 4x4 DSG Executive 280PS hatchback from new. It is absolutely superb & the only problem I have with it is that it came with keyless entry I didn't order (it was added as standard after I ordered it). Keyless entry is great to use but not very secure, so I asked my dealer to turn it off but they couldn't do it. I found an easy fix which is to lock the car with the fob & then touch the sensor on the door handle. This disables the fob for keyless entry (ie it stops the constant message the fob emits) & turns it into an ordinary fob, but it needs to be done every time the car is locked.
The day we tested a Superb, we also had a test drive in a Jag XE. We turned-up at the Skoda dealer in the horrible Jag & loved the Superb.
As I don't do many miles per annum in the Superb (25500 in 4½ years), we went for petrol & a quick one at that; 0-60 in about 5½ seconds & on to 165 (not done that!). On a run it averages about 40mpg, pretty good for a large petrol car.
My wife got the kodiaq vrs, very nice, I just don't like the fake exhaust noise, also the 20" wheel. Quite bumpy other than that everything is comfortable.
I own a 2011 mk2 Superb with a 166000km . Its so worth the money, its a wonderful and all round solution.

What about adaptive cruise and lane keep assist? That’s a must for me these days
Regarding sat nav drift...
On mine the nav was off by about 50 metres, and I eventually discovered that when the phone is plugged in for Android Auto, the phone takes the GPS location from the car so is off by the same amount.
Needed replacement infotainment system @ £3,500.
66 plate Superb L&K mkIII estate with all the toys owner here. Easily the best car I've owned. I switched from a 60mpg mkII Superb diesel estate to a petrol mkIII Superb estate when I retired. However, mine's a bit of a sleeper with 360bhp 2.0L TSi petrol, 4 x 4 & DSG. Downside is the fuel consumption which around town is 25mpg & 36mpg on a run & it drinks from the 99Ron pump. I only do 5-6k miles a year now so I don't worry about the mpg, especially when it can do 0-60 in sub 5 secs. Marvellous for camping trips, weekends away, two bikes in the back easy, a roof box on top & swallows suitcases for fun. Best affordable estate car out there. Skoda Octavia is a close 2nd.
