I could never understand how Americans had never heard of him ? Although he never did concerts overseas. He obviously never had to. It is the way he is.

I grew up listening to Whispering Jack and his albums since, literally the first songs I sang in the shower (and I'm now a classically trained mezzo-soprano ) and to me this was just the norm. Just ol John Farnham. Only now, 30 odd years later do I understand how unique a talent he has. It was the norm to me growing up. I wanted to be Vennetta Fields or Lisa Edwards, his incredible back up singers. It's wonderful to watch your, and many other's, reactions to something I took for granted for so many years. Breaking news here in Australia. John was admitted to hospital this morning to have cancer surgery. Apparently surgeons were confident they were going to be able to get it all so here’s hoping. The thought of possibly losing John does not bear thinking.

Too right. I was diagnosed with skin cancer a month ago. I was operated on a week after that, and the Doctors managed to get it all. My wife contracted breast cancer in 2005. After extensive treatment, she went into remission 5 years later and too this day it has not come back. She managed the complete process like she it was her job. Positive energy and attitude help in defeating the Big C. John will do the same. He has the same attitude.

It is not si easy to name a favourite, so many different styles, and they are all so brilliant - phenomenal Farnsey just cannot be surpassed. When I listen to his singing I often wish he'd recorded more in the lower registers because, again, there is so much depth of emotion there.. I love Youre6 the Voice, and It's a long way to the Top. I sang with John when i was 8 years old after his stage show "charlie girl"in Auckland New Zealand,he asked my mum if he could take me back to Australia with him,but mum said i was to young to leave home.lol The cast all came back to Mum and Dads house for a BBq and signed and wrote lovely words in one of the shows booklets,which i still have to this day,im 60 now.Such a great artist i was and still am a fan.
Dr kapp had some very positive things to say on his situation. That the belief is they can get it all in one go and the chance of full recovery is good. Very uplifting words. Much love brother
I was devastated when Olivia passed away and it seems that it was then that John got his diagnosis. He wasn't rushed to hospital, they just didn't tell the media until the morning of his operation. It was successful and he had part of his jaw removed - whether he sings again is anyone's guess, praying for him ❤
He's going to be ok! Even if he can't sing the same way. He will be ok. We lift him up in positivity and pray that he will be The One. While ONJ rests in peace, JF will be ok. He has to be.

I grew up with John Farnham on constant replay on the family’s record player. My music taste evolved as I grew up, and I can’t remember the last time I voluntarily put any of his music on. But I will not hear a bad word said about this man. He is an icon, and we will all be sending him and his family our collective love and best wishes.
The tumour was in his mouth and he had part of his jaw removed and is in ICU right now. I didn't even know about this as I don't follow national news - more into American and overseas stuff with this war with the cabal that we are in. So sorry to hear this. I very much doubt he will ever sing again but there are so many wonderful videos of him singing so people won't miss out. I hope they got it all.

I definitely want him alive for a long time, particularly since I only just discovered him a few years ago and began actively listening to him thanks to your reactions. I think he’s a fabulous human being and I just because of his talents but because of his personality. Very humble and seems very down to earth. I wish him the best. I like this performance because he’s using his more mature voice and edgier voice, unlike the younger performance we saw a few months ago. This is so hard to watch, Nick. I can only assume that John and his family received the diagnosis about the same time we lost Olivia Newton-John. I only hope she didn’t know as she would have been devastated, as we all are. I have been a fan of John’s since the beginning of his career - the very first single I bought was John’s, I was a member of his fan club, had all his records and kept scrapbooks of his career, went to appearances at shopping centres to get his autograph, and attended numerous concerts and theatre shows he was in (one where he met his wife). To say I love this man is an understatement. He is not just a great entertainer but an amazing human being. John is royalty and a legend in Australia and loved beyond measure. I am glad you have discovered what we have known all along. Hope John recovers quickly. 😘💕🥰🤗🇦🇺.
Nah, he would have had the diagnosis a while ago and kept it secret. They don’t do this type of majorly drastic surgery without trying other options first. The likely hood is that he has already gone through rounds of chemo and radiotherapy in attempts to to reduce the tumours. It then takes significant time for the team of surgeons to plan out the surgery. They don’t go in for something like this without knowing exactly what their plan is! John cancelled a series of concerts at the end of last year. It’s most likely that’s when he got the diagnosis.
Don't worry, they all the TV networks have opened up a proper account where everybody can just send their well wishes to him by email and when he's feeling better with his family he will be able to read all of them. When news first broke about this ,the whole of Australia just stopped and took a breath. If it's comes to the point where he can no longer perform, it's ok because his health is most important . Just look at all the music John has given us , and nobody gets sick of listening to his music , in fact we'd be greedy to ask for more. Music is his legacy to all of us.
He started his mike tricks when he was younger. I have seen him throwing the mike around when the mikes still had cords attached. I will pray that John becomes well and lives a long life.

He's going to be ok! Even if he can't sing the same way. He will be ok. We lift him up in positivity and pray that he will be The One. While ONJ rests in peace, JF will be ok. He has to be.

I grew up with John Farnham on constant replay on the family’s record player.
My music taste evolved as I grew up, and I can’t remember the last time I voluntarily put any of his music on.
But I will not hear a bad word said about this man.
He is an icon, and we will all be sending him and his family our collective love and best wishes.
The tumour was in his mouth and he had part of his jaw removed and is in ICU right now. I didn't even know about this as I don't follow national news - more into American and overseas stuff with this war with the cabal that we are in. So sorry to hear this. I very much doubt he will ever sing again but there are so many wonderful videos of him singing so people won't miss out. I hope they got it all.

I'm not sure if he knows how much he means to some of his subscribers, but thanks to him I'm no longer on antidepressants, if I'm feeling depressed, I go back and watch his reaction to " when something is wrong with my baby " and I'm instantly smiling. I hope I get to meet him someday so I can express my gratitude.

Prayers to John. I was devastated when I read that on Twitter yesterday. I definitely want him alive for a long time, particularly since I only just discovered him a few years ago and began actively listening to him thanks to your reactions. I think he’s a fabulous human being and I just because of his talents but because of his personality. Very humble and seems very down to earth. I wish him the best. I like this performance because he’s using his more mature voice and edgier voice, unlike the younger performance we saw a few months ago. He definitely needs to live long enough to keep singing this song! Let’s all hold hands and believe and pray. You got this, John!

This is so hard to watch, Nick. I can only assume that John and his family received the diagnosis about the same time we lost Olivia Newton-John. I only hope she didn’t know as she would have been devastated, as we all are. I have been a fan of John’s since the beginning of his career - the very first single I bought was John’s, I was a member of his fan club, had all his records and kept scrapbooks of his career, went to appearances at shopping centres to get his autograph, and attended numerous concerts and theatre shows he was in (one where he met his wife). To say I love this man is an understatement. He is not just a great entertainer but an amazing human being. John is royalty and a legend in Australia and loved beyond measure. I am glad you have discovered what we have known all along. Hope John recovers quickly. 😘💕🥰🤗🇦🇺.
Nah, he would have had the diagnosis a while ago and kept it secret. They don’t do this type of majorly drastic surgery without trying other options first.
The likely hood is that he has already gone through rounds of chemo and radiotherapy in attempts to to reduce the tumours.
It then takes significant time for the team of surgeons to plan out the surgery. They don’t go in for something like this without knowing exactly what their plan is!
John cancelled a series of concerts at the end of last year. It’s most likely that’s when he got the diagnosis.
We're all keeping the faith and fighting the fight. John is so loved by everyone and we're all in shock right now, but we know he can beat this.❤
Don't worry, they all the TV networks have opened up a proper account where everybody can just send their well wishes to him by email and when he's feeling better with his family he will be able to read all of them.
When news first broke about this ,the whole of Australia just stopped and took a breath. If it's comes to the point where he can no longer perform, it's ok because his health is most important .
Just look at all the music John has given us , and nobody gets sick of listening to his music , in fact we'd be greedy to ask for more.
