John is a Showman, funny, an entertainer. He connects with the crowd, the total package. This is why he is is so loved by everyone. Just go to a Farnham concert and you’ll be blown away.

A reaction to john’s song “one” would be dope AF! Hands down one of his very best!!! And he is soooooo young in the video. That song makes me lose my shit when I’m driving lol
John has spoken a number of times about his bout of depression before his comeback album Whispering Jack came out. He was lying on the floor, curled up, unable to move. Then You're the Voice was released, and he never looked back 😊
You are right. JF could sing ANYthing. It is rare to see an artist who maintains excellence across genres and generations. The reason it is possible is simple. He is The Voice. His control at the edges of his impressive range is itself impressive. He might as well be dubbed The Performer, too. His live shows were wonderful. Nobody left disappointed.
Its amazing isn't it? Just when you think you have him pegged, and know what he can achieve vocally, John just raises the bar again and tells us to sit down and hold on for the ride.
He has trained his voice phenomenally well. And when on tour,, John sings his sets sometimes twice a day. Not sure that there has ever been any performer in history with such a powerful vocal instrument as his !
Your reactions show how much you appreciate John Farnham, its a credit to you how much you care. It's more than understood how you feel and the fact that you are a singer is impressive. Enjoying your reactions from OZ.
I'm loving your video reactions to John. Your appreciation, awe and enthusiasm for his talents is infectious. Looking forward to seeing more. Hopefully one day 'Playing to Win' is one of them. It's my favorite out of all of his songs.
Thanks for all your hard work. Two great John Farnham songs are PLEASE DON’T ASK ME And A TOUCH OF PARADISE. JOHN FARNHAM has perfect pitch. I have never heard a single note from him off. In thousands of hours on UA-cam there’s not a single note out of tune. In 2013 the Australian musicians and singers voted for the best Australian singer of all time. John Farnham overwhelmingly won hands down. He beat all the opera singers. Anthony Warlow was in position 75 and Tina Arina was in 3rd and Jimmy Barnes was in position 5.
It's sad but a lot of aussie talent just isn't known to the world especially the older artists who inspired the newer known artists of today farnsey Barnsey diesel and many more aussie rock legends inspired so much when something is wrong with my baby is still an all time fav as its 2 guys just ripping it and an awesome e song to boot

I'm loving learning all these things about our Aussie artists and seeing performances I've never seen before. Thanks Nick and everyone who is requesting these bangers 🙏❤
Here I go again, like I do in all your videos, pausing when you pause so I can annoyingly comment but although us Aussies know how freaking amazing John is I personally still get shivers watching him live. Music video’s just don’t do him justice. It’s his live concerts that show how impressively talented he is.
John's voice is phenomenal and I've been a fan since the beginning and at 72 he's still got it in spades. "Let Me Out" is one of my favourites and I'm glad it was suggested by "Gary". This is from the album "Whispering Jack" and came along at a time when John's career was a little slow, but his manager believed in him so much, to the extent that he mortgaged his home in order to produce "Whispering Jack" which was a success and sat at the top of the charts for many weeks. I don't know if you recognised Venetta Fields (one of his backup singers) whose long career began as a gospel singer with a group from her church. She has backed up Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Boz Scaggs, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand etc. She began recording with Australia's Richard Clapton, Australian Crawl and Jimmy Barnes but it was John Farnham, who brought her to the attention of the Australian public when her spiritual rendition of the classic "Amazing Grace" brought the concerts to a standstill. We appreciate YOUR appreciation of our talent 🥰
Yes Glors....everything you wrote is the truth...Vanetta and John "Amazing Grace" is SO powerful and my favourite version of Amazing Grace by anyone. The feel and emotional input in their performance is flawless. I'll never forget seeing them sing this in the studio and in concert. Goose bumps all around.
@@Dornie51 sitting a couple of metres away in the rehearsal studio with the band and John in full flight and hearing/feeling his voice beyond the PA was something I've never felt. (I'm a Drummer since I was 4 and played/taught professionally in Sydney back in the 80's/90's and still practise/play) Seriously...He was the perfect choice as Jesus in JCS because what I heard/felt in that studio that day was like a spiritual experience. I'm doing carpentry work at the studio and could here him and the band and I thought I was hearing John on the radio or whatever but when I saw Angus and Brett walk out of the rehearsal studio room I realised "Hang on" I'm sitting on my saw stool eating my lunch and Farnsy walks out and I'm gobsmacked...he comes over and says hi. He's a plumber and I'm a Carpenter and we're just talking about building related stuff 🤪😯.... Pinch me moments He was as normal as can be as a person. He left a great impression on me. Nick.....MAAAATE...i knew you'd love that one. I do too..especially because of the lyrics. This track was a help for me when I was facing really bad things from my past as a child when I confronted what was done to me. The Fight or Flight thing. I did both and the devil on my shoulder will always be their but it doesn't control me anymore. I'm ok now. That's another thing about music is that it helps us to think about things more deeply and songs become a soundtrack for our life. It does for me at least. Being a muso ( Drums/Percussion/Carpenter ) Kinda has something to do with that too 🙂 Sorry to get HEAVY. As I said to you when we message, the band's always so good and Brett Garsed's solo is one of my all time favourite. There's a lot of attitude in this track as you and anyone who watches it can see/hear. Another great reaction from you. I thought you'd love John's "SCREAM AND SHOUT" In the second chorus 😜 I'll message ya later 👍👍🔨🥁🦘🙏
Good on you Garry. You got through it all, with a little help from a friend - John. I’ve been there myself along with apparently thousands of others. You have a great life and we’ll keep John’s music going 😊👍
Oh, wow. I remember watching this. Simulcast on radio and TV. That’s how big the “Whispering Jack” album was. It’s an Australian cultural phenomenon, and I don’t know if there is an equivalent anywhere else in the world.
The lyrics to John Farnham's song "Let Me Out" are a touching expression of a deep desire to always stand by someone, to be their support system, and to help them navigate through life's ups and downs. The song opens with the idea that no matter where the person being sung to goes or wanders in life, the singer wants to be there for them. The singer wants to hold their hand and catch them should they fall. The lyrics suggest that the singer wants to be a constant presence in the other person's life, seeing them through everything they do.
John called his touring brass section 'The Brasstards'... his typical humour and a play on words of a very commonly used word in Oz... another one with dual meanings...can be negative and in this way positive ! Haha. Brett (Rambo) Garsed, apart from one stint with The Nelsons, has been Johns lead guitarist since the very first Whispering Jack tour... They really are all like a family - all of them have made themselves available regardless of how long in between tours/albums. Shows just how much John is respected as an artist, but more importantly as a person.

I still remember this concert like it was yesterday. It’s about 1 and half hours of JF epic ness. Amazingly he was smoking a pack a day. Oh you had fun with this one I did as well thanks for turning me on to them I don't think I've ever heard them before and I've listened to a lot of music.
I love this song- it was my COVID song when we were on heavy lockdown. I’d put the headphones on and let John screen in my ears, when the frustration of COVID got pretty hard to deal with here in Aus. John saved my sanity. No John’s not singing about his wife, it could sound like that from someone who who hasn’t grown up listening to him for decades. Jill his wife, stays in the background, not a publicity wife at all and John has said she’s his rock. Gee they have been married about 50 years now.
What a year you have had discovering all these great Aussie artists. Thank you for the reactions and for exposing your followers to people such as John Farnham. I’ve loved every one of your reactions to his songs and eagerly check each morning to see if you’ve done another one overnight. With Christmas coming up please have a look at him singing at Carols by Candlelight “Mary’s Boy Child”.
1987 was a great year for John. Following up from the 1986 release of the Whispering Jack album. This tour was John's coming out party. I feel this song should of got more attention than it did. As a 14yo I loved it immediately and thrashed this on the tape deck for weeks.
John farnham never disapoints you. More like surprise you every time. Must be heavenly to have a voice like that. He should have been more notised world wide. Thats just sad.
If Australia had the population of America he would of been as big and famous as Whitney Houston. We're happy he ended up having the career he did eventually. In alot of ways we're glad he was our best kept secret.
I think it’s funny that you continue to be surprised 😂😂 Let Me Out is about when he was in the Little River Band and wasn’t happy there. He wanted out but felt trapped. It’s always been one of my favourites. On the album version it starts with fingers clicking and just hearing fingers click can transport me back to my bedroom aged 10 listening to it on my new record for the first time. I love it. And now as an adult, understanding what it’s about, it’s very suited to my life. So much so that I want it played at my funeral.
I have to say- there are other overseas reactors that do John Farnham reaction videos and they have no where as much enthusiasm for what they do as you do Nick… you are thorough and real and your reaction is instant, not ‘listen to the whole song and say a few words at the end’ like others do and I personally respect your opinion more than theirs… I also love watching when I know what’s coming and I know you don’t and your pure surprise and joy when those awesome moments come By the way that top belt on ‘scream and shout’ in the second chorus was an F#5 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Don't know if anyone has said it here but the "Rocky Balboa" guitarist, Brett Garsed , actually goes by the nickname, Rambo. He used to wear the bandana around his head. He has played with the Nelson brothers and appears in "I Can't Live Without Your Love And Affection" video.

Speaking of rarely covered Aussie singer reactions try, Southern Sons. I am sure others can pick one of their endless classic songs. Jack Jones has a nice smooth voice and you will recognise him helping in a few John Farnham concerts. He was also always referred to as John's love child and secret son. Happens a lot with Australian artists not getting recognised in the US. It's the distance thing. Too far/expensive to tour efficiently that far away unless u already super successful $$$ already. You'd need to base urself overseas. Worked for AC/DC but its a big all or nothing move.

Dimash is something else, absolutely amazing. But certainly doesn’t have a universal appeal. Don’t even try and compare him to John Farnham they are totally different. John is a Showman, funny, an entertainer. He connects with the crowd, the total package. This is why he is is so loved by everyone. Just go to a Farnham concert and you’ll be blown away.
Freddy let's showmanship away.................if you're gonna cast Jesus in JCS who cares about Freddie's "showmanship"?!?!??! John FAR AND ABOVE exceeds Jesus in JCS if we're gonna be honest......by some country mile....
Please don’t “calm down”. Love your reactions. Even with the good, the bad & the ugly you find positives. 🤗
He stood in for a little river band which made it big in America but they treated him very badly . We always knew how great he was and is . He was also a really nice guy who loved to entertain . Thanks for loving him as we do xoxo love from Sydney Australia
I been waiting for playing to win it’s one of his most up beat songs
Definitely need Playing To Win!!!
I love the acoustic chapel sessions version. Awesome!
Thanks for all your hard work. Two great John Farnham songs are PLEASE DON’T ASK ME
And A TOUCH OF PARADISE.
I still like his Sound Check singing the best. Just warming up before a concert with his crew back stage. Absolutely stunning performance. STUNNING!
So true! I went to one of his concerts in Brisbane and hearing him and the band warm up from outside was so fun, the appetizer to the main course!
I've never seen this performance, and goodness, that note! I can't even reach that in falsetto, let alone in the mix he uses!
I love the way that John as a magnificent performer gives his band members & singers the spotlight as well. I have read so many wonderful comments from other artists who think the world of John - not only Aussie artists but overseas ones as well. I have never read a bad comment about him yet. Thanks for your reactions to John & our other Aussie artists. The reason why you are the only one reacting to our artists is because you are honest & we appreciate your truthful insights. Thanks mate ❤️🇦🇺
Australian here & I love your reactions when it comes to our very own John Farnham. How I wish John could see your reactions, I feel you’re his number 1 new fan
@@garypeterson8394 Absolutely! 💖
@@Dornie51 sitting a couple of metres away in the rehearsal studio with the band and John in full flight and hearing/feeling his voice beyond the PA was something I've never felt.
(I'm a Drummer since I was 4 and played/taught professionally in Sydney back in the 80's/90's and still practise/play)
Seriously...He was the perfect choice as Jesus in JCS because what I heard/felt in that studio that day was like a spiritual experience.
I'm doing carpentry work at the studio and could here him and the band and I thought I was hearing John on the radio or whatever but when I saw Angus and Brett walk out of the rehearsal studio room I realised "Hang on"
I'm sitting on my saw stool eating my lunch and Farnsy walks out and I'm gobsmacked...he comes over and says hi. He's a plumber and I'm a Carpenter and we're just talking about building related stuff 🤪😯....
Pinch me moments
He was as normal as can be as a person.
He left a great impression on me.
His voice is so powerful/emotional and great and for me that day at work at the studio was an experience that I'm so lucky to have had.
@@garypeterson8394 what incredible memories!
So glad that you’re appreciating Aussie music 😆
Thank you for appreciating and acknowledging JF’s amazing talent. He js a legend of a singer and a person.
John had a lot of offers in America but he turned them down because he was thinking of his family he put his family frist we love him so much he's not one for fame fame he loves he's country the big wide open country live Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🐨🐨👍🤗
Being a muso ( Drums/Percussion/Carpenter )
Kinda has something to do with that too 🙂
Sorry to get HEAVY.
As I said to you when we message, the band's always so good and Brett Garsed's solo is one of my all time favourite.
There's a lot of attitude in this track as you and anyone who watches it can see/hear.
Another great reaction from you.
I thought you'd love John's "SCREAM AND SHOUT"
In the second chorus 😜
I'll message ya later
👍👍🔨🥁🦘🙏
Good on you Garry. You got through it all, with a little help from a friend - John. I’ve been there myself along with apparently thousands of others. You have a great life and we’ll keep John’s music going 😊👍
@@bernadettelanders7306 🙏🔨🥁🦘
John Farnham is the G.O.A.T. Seeing him live! Omg, you haven’t heard anything yet
He’s amazing!
Best singer, best voice…in The world.
Ha ha, your favorite performance by John changes every week.
I second that Jo.
Consummate professional's 👍👍🔨🥁🦘🙏
@@garypeterson8394 Hi Gary - I'm just loving (and a little bit proud I must admit) that Nick is discovering our Aussie talent - and thank you to you also for requesting / suggesting so that he hears more of them ! I unfortunately can't do the patreon / paypal thing, but I can support the choices of you guys who are when you recommend to Nick. Cheers mate 🐨👍
@@JoSedunary thanks Jo....Nick's a great singer for one and his channel is positive and a great outlet to showcase artists.
Thats a good positive thing to do🙏
Am I correct in thinking the trombone player in this, the one Nick seems to notice just before the second chorus, is Bob Carson? He’s been with John since Whispering Jack?
@@aries898 Not sure Melissa... I know Mark Dennison (Sax) but the brass section switched out a fair bit depending on which other gigs they had.... I'm sure someone will know though !
Yes, he can sing anything. ❤
You really need to react to John Farnhams Playing to Win, live, OMG it’s the best!!!
I was at this concert when it recorded well over 30 years ago. Have a look at John Farnham - Whispering Jack concert. This is where this clip is from. I still remember this concert like it was yesterday.
It’s about 1 and half hours of JF epic ness.
Amazingly he was smoking a pack a day. Drinking coke like it was water and his voice is still this incredible. He is still my favourite artist of all time.
I love this
What a year you have had discovering all these great Aussie artists.
The reactions are growing...especially among newbie African reactors!
Yes we love to see it 👏🏾
You love John more than us,I'm loving that you can see why he's one of our best!!
1987 was a great year for John. Following up from the 1986 release of the Whispering Jack album. This tour was John's coming out party. I feel this song should of got more attention than it did. As a 14yo I loved it immediately and thrashed this on the tape deck for weeks.
Love 💕 this song!!!!!
Johns song playing to win live is amazing, worth a look
Love Farnsy and love you covering the amazing aussies artist that you do! ♥️🐨
Keep them coming 😊
And he's still alive.
Loving that you are discovering Aus music and sharing it with the world.
Thanks
John farnham never disapoints you. More like surprise you every time. Must be heavenly to have a voice like that. He should have been more notised world wide. Thats just sad.
I had forgotten about this song, awesome!
If Australia had the population of America he would of been as big and famous as Whitney Houston. We're happy he ended up having the career he did eventually. In alot of ways we're glad he was our best kept secret.
This song is 80s realness, and I ain’t mad about it! Love it.
He is just so so good , love your reactions ❤ keep them coming 🇦🇺
Simply the best!, Legend ❤️
I think it’s funny that you continue to be surprised 😂😂
Let Me Out is about when he was in the Little River Band and wasn’t happy there.
There’s still many mind blowing performances that you’re yet to see ! Still not even half way down the rabbit hole yet 😅😅
I love your reactions to The Voice that is John Farnham…keep em coming
This is one of my all time favourites of his. The king!!!
Also interesting, one of the few songs he wrote himself. It's a banger!
I love that you're listening to alot of talented artists from Australia. I did a Tiktok to this song 😁 John's amazing ✨🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Yeah he was trapped in little river band thank god he got out and was then able to soar!
I have to say- there are other overseas reactors that do John Farnham reaction videos and they have no where as much enthusiasm for what they do as you do Nick… you are thorough and real and your reaction is instant, not ‘listen to the whole song and say a few words at the end’ like others do and I personally respect your opinion more than theirs…
I also love watching when I know what’s coming and I know you don’t and your pure surprise and joy when those awesome moments come
By the way that top belt on ‘scream and shout’ in the second chorus was an F#5 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
His vocal range is said to be A2 - G5. 🙂
Your opinions on the talent was spot on imo and I totally agreed. Also, the genuine joy and excitement was great. I loved watching and ima sub too. Thanks, bruv.
And you've done it again... never heard this song (I'm ashamed of myself lol) holy crap balls this was soooooo frickin' good!!!!
There are quite a few reactors to John and other artists.. i watched one guy that is pretty popular do Johns songs 3 years ago. I am a huge John Farnham fan and this song was on one of his biggest albums, it was a number 1 like his other songs.
Love this reaction - that belting range !!!😂🎉😂🎉😂🎉 Phenomenal vocals, performance, and band. Brett Garsed on the guitar 🎸 Just WOW!!!
So happy he got Out!!! Love our John soooo much ❤❤❤
Loved it man, well done!! 👏 you're right, I see like 2 other people reacting to Aussie music.. you keep doing what you're doing mate! I've noticed you get the most views of you're aussie reactions. Killing it!😊👍👌🔥
There’s a documentary on his “Last Time” tour (not his last, he’s still kickin’) and there’s a brief bit where he and his band are doing something like an oompa band version of one of his songs…and yep, he can even do THAT
Speaking of rarely covered Aussie singer reactions try,
Southern Sons.
I am sure others can pick one of their endless classic songs.
Jack Jones has a nice smooth voice and you will recognise him helping in a few John Farnham concerts.
He was also always referred to as John's love child and secret son. (There is no actual relation at all)
You will hear a lot of John's influence in his music.
That is probably because he said jack jones was so young(19)it was like having a son there.
One of my favourite songs, and playing to win !!!!!!
Happens a lot with Australian artists not getting recognised in the US. It's the distance thing. Too far/expensive to tour efficiently that far away unless u already super successful $$$ already. You'd need to base urself overseas. Worked for AC/DC but its a big all or nothing move.
I love this song and this was an inspired suggestion for our man to react to. Love it!
You saying the majority of people don’t know about John Farnham because it was requested when you first heard him. I so get what your saying because when I watch you or others reactions to him I love it. You being my favourite reaction to songs, I love your passion and because us here in Australia know exactly where in his songs he’s going to belt seemlessly I just watch your face. I love it. But there’s frustration I can hear when your explaining that he should be heard by others. I get you. We’ve had him for decades but it warms my heart that there are people like you loving him and some of our greatest artists. Love you mate. Your awesome. ♥️♥️
Love your stuff!
A great Aussie band was “Savage Garden” one of the best songs lyrically is “you can still be free”
Would love to see you find their work. Darren Hayes the lead singer has one of the best falsettos.
Bloody brilliant mate ! Always love watching you react to John Farman. It's fun watching you brace yourself for the next note.. come visit us in Australia sometime.. I'm sure you'd be more than welcome
Mine is playing to win, but this one is creeping up on me, and I love the way you love him, he's now retired, he's an icon of Australia!!
He's retired from touring not performing though!
he is called "the voice" for good reason 😅
