New Ice Type Moves - Ice Over (Special): A bitter cold engulfs the target, trapping it and dealing further damage for four to five Turns. The target cannot Escape during this time. The Additional Damage increases during Hail. Flurry (Special): A weak but fast-moving flurry of snow and ice that damages foes. This Move always goes First. Its Chance of Failing increases if used in Succession. Ice Chip (Status): The user absorbs ice to restore its own HP, the Amount varying depending on the Weather and Terrain (50% Maximum HP ordinarily; 66% in Snow or on Icy Terrain). Freezer Burn (Special): The user exhales a gasp of bitingly frigid air at its target. This may also leave the target with a Burn (30%). Deep Freeze (Special): The user envelops its targets in a bitter, biting cold that intensifies over time, with the likelihood of the targets Freezing increasing with each Consecutive Use (starts at 5%, Doubles each time). Fire Type Moves will not be able to Thaw Out foes Frozen by this Move. Glacial Flow (Special): The user releases a flow of meltwater upon its targets. This move is Ice and Water Type simultaneously. Flash Freeze (Special): The user exhales a short but frigid breath of air on its target, freezing the air and Ground around it. The Ice left underfoot may raise the user's Speed Stat (50%, one Stage). Frost Shield (Status): The user chills the air around it to protect itself. Allies take Damage from Water Type Moves as if the Moves were Ice Type, and it Freezes any Pokémon that makes contact with it. Sled Rush (Physical): The user slides on its belly at high speed to smash into its target. The impact may Paralyze the target (20%) and the momentum from the Move may raise the user's Speed Stat (one Stage, 20%). Glacial Impact (Physical): The user first builds up snow and ice, and then it Attacks the target. Making Direct Contact with the Pokémon while it's gathering snow results in Freezing. Frost Quake (Special): The user releases air so cold, it causes the Ground beneath its targets to crack. This move is Ice and Ground Type simultaneously. Snow Blind (Special): The user lets loose a flow of brightly shining snow, blinding the target and Lowering its Accuracy (one Stage). Frost Kick (Physical): The user launches a kick that lands a Critical Hit more easily. This may also leave the target Frozen (10%). Snow Fort (Status): The user builds a wall of snow around itself and its Allies, Doubling their Defense and Special Defense until a Fire Type Move is used. Snow Globe (Special): The user surrounds its target with swirling snow, possibly Flinching the foe (10%) and also causing Snow to Fall on the Battlefield for the next five Turns. Cold Front (Special): The user attacks by exhaling frigid breath on the opposing Pokémon. This may also leave those Pokémon Frozen (10%). Cold Shoulder (Special): The user ignores its target, chilling it to the bone. This also leaves the target Frozen. Ice Age (Special): The user attacks by engulfing the target in a vortex of snow, ice, and freezing winds. This leaves the target Frozen. Cool Down (Status): A frigid blast of air is expelled, Freezing the opponent where they stand. Icicle Trap (Status): The user lays a trap of floating ice shards around the opponent's Team. The Trap hurts opponents that Switch into Battle. (Affected by Thick Fat) Freezing Point (Status): The user chills the air around the target just enough to turn all of its Water Type Moves into Ice Type Moves. Hypothermia (Status): The user engulfs the foe in a mix of ice and frigid water. It will either Confuse the foe, Freeze it, or cause it to Flinch. It cannot Miss during a Snowstorm. Freeze Horn (Physical): The user slashes at its target with a mighty horn of ice. It has a High Critical Hit Ratio, and the opponent may be left Frozen (20%). Icy Terrain (Status): The user covers the ground under everyone's feet with ice for five Turns. This Boosts the Speed of all Pokémon on the Ground (one Stage), especially Ice Types (two Stages), but also lowers the Accuracy of all Pokémon but Ice Types (one Stage). Black Ice (Status): The user lays a slick of dark, hard-to-see ice at the feet of its opponents. It will randomly Lower their Accuracy one Stage sometimes when they use Direct Attacks. Snowball Fight (Special): The user begins a snowball fight against its opponent, lobbing snowballs between two and five times in a row. During a Snowstorm, it will always hit five times. Figure Eight (Physical): The user skates towards its target at high speed on frozen claws or blades to strike. This move always lands a Critical Hit on Icy Terrain. Snow Dance (Status): The user twirls in an elegant dance like snowflakes on the wind to Boost its Special Attack and Speed Stats (one Stage each). They will sharply increase during a Snowstorm (two Stages each). Rime (Status): The user releases frigid air to change Water Type Moves to Ice Type Moves. Winter Storm (Special): The user whips up a fierce winter storm to Buffet everything around it. This may also leave those Hit Frozen (10%). Shiver (Status): The user shivers intensely to pass a chill onto the target and Freeze it on the next Turn. Cold Snap (Status): The Battlefield suddenly becomes intensely cold, turning all Water Type Moves into Ice Type Moves for three Turns. This Move will fail if there is a Fire Type on the Battlefield or the Weather is Sunny, however. Snowboarding (Physical): The user slides across the icy ground to deliver a bodycheck to its target, possibly Paralyzing it (30%). This Move always goes first on Icy Terrain. Endothermic Influx (Special): The user draws in all of the warmth around it to turn the air around its target into a frigid weapon, possibly leaving it Frozen (10%). This also Reduces the Damage of the next Fire or Grass Type Move to hit it. Arrows of Winter (Special): The user blasts its target with a salvo of arrows of frigid winter air. Critical Hits land more easily, and this Attack will always result in a Critical Hit when used against a Frozen target. Meltwater (Special): A flow of frigid slush and water buffets everything around the user, possibly leaving those Hit Frozen (10%). This Move is Super Effective on Fire Types. Polar Spear (Physical): The user strikes its target with a mighty spear of ice, Dealing Super Effective Damage to Water Types. Critical Hits land more easily. Frigid Fangs (Physical): The user slides its frigid gaping maw into the target. If the user Attacks before the target, the Power of this Move is Doubled.
My best guess as to why Blizzard has low accuracy has to do with the idea that the Pokemon just 'fails' to summon one at all. Since it's so powerful, it can't always be kicked up successfully. Unless it's hailing, in which the weather helps with the move, thus making it 100% accuracy.
In the case of Kyurem-W, its signature move can be linked to the fact cold temperatures can cook food. So from some cryomantic being who can control ice AND fire, this sounds like a nuclear weapon of cryo and pyro, making it easy to burn
another way ice burn could possibly work: kyurem launches the heat from its tail and heats up the opponent just enough to cause a small burn, then he launches the frigid substance or air, causing the opponent to be damaged a lot more. the reason it is still ice is that it's mostly cold air and whatever kyurem uses to freeze it's opponents, meaning they are still cold.
U at 6:23: Black Kyurem is Ice-Electric type Nintendo and ANYONE whose owns a post gen 5 handbook or played black2 or white2 or any gen 6 or 7 game: Black and White Kyurem are both Ice-Dragon type, like it's normal form
8:26 you're kinda right. But, the main reason why the poles are so cold is because of the angle at which the the sunlight hits the earth. The more perpendicular sunlight hits a surface, the more it heats it up.

Aurora beam could also be electric type. Magnetic field- related attacks are elecric type (as this is basically the same thing), and there have been experiments with creating auroras artificially with radio waves. I think it's ice type because places where the auroras are most frequently seen are rather icy. I don't see how fire type would make much sense.

15:18 as a Texan, I feel targeted Seriously though, a couple of years ago we had a BAD hail storm that totaled a lot of cars (including mine) and did massive amounts of damage to roofs and windows. Thankfully, storms that bad are rare.
One more thing to mention is how Pokémon seemingly treats snow and hail as one and the same. If it's snowing in the overworld, there will be hail during battles in that location. Also, blizzard gets an accuracy boost if performed during hail, as is the hail would be part of the blizzard in place of snow. In terms of game design, it's okay since they're close but snow shatters if it hits you to hard and hail can shatter you if it hits too hard
15:00 Might just be a separate stretch, but mist and haze is frequently used to symbolize the passage of time in Japanese artwork. Perhaps the idea is that the stat changes wear off over time that's hidden by the mist? It's not scientific, but I prefer my stretch. Great video!

Yyeeeeaah about that.......
Everyone: Snow...Christmas...ice Types
And here in germany we had 14°C and sunshine today
Yes winter
In Denmark the grass was frozen. And guess what? It was late October to early november!
And things probably will get even worse this month
Meanwhile at South America... "Calurosa navidad"
and now it's raining in Germany -_-
Uruguay, over 30° :)
Netherlands, right next to germany. -4 at 9 am

6:37 pure liquid water is a poor electrical conductor, but water with minerals in it (i.e. most water) does conduct electricity.
8:42 Lockstin you did it again! It's supposed to be Cryomancy! ;P
In the case of Kyurem-W, its signature move can be linked to the fact cold temperatures can cook food. So from some cryomantic being who can control ice AND fire, this sounds like a nuclear weapon of cryo and pyro, making it easy to burn

yeah...
How in the name of Arkoos did you get frozen by a CAMERUPT
I like how the description you screenshot for Freezy Frost is the one from Sword & Shield that just says "This move can't be used."
As someone from the south hemisphere, I'm currently in hell. Seeing you north americans talk about snow this time of the year does not help.
Well you get the cold weather while we melt in the summer time.
I would rather freeze then melt
In Australia it's practically hell at the moment.
Australia is on fricken fire
@@jerrisatyourwindow I'd rather melt
another way ice burn could possibly work:
kyurem launches the heat from its tail and heats up the opponent just enough to cause a small burn, then he launches the frigid substance or air, causing the opponent to be damaged a lot more. the reason it is still ice is that it's mostly cold air and whatever kyurem uses to freeze it's opponents, meaning they are still cold.
U at 6:23: Black Kyurem is Ice-Electric type
Nintendo and ANYONE whose owns a post gen 5 handbook or played black2 or white2 or any gen 6 or 7 game: Black and White Kyurem are both Ice-Dragon type, like it's normal form
8:26 you're kinda right. But, the main reason why the poles are so cold is because of the angle at which the the sunlight hits the earth. The more perpendicular sunlight hits a surface, the more it heats it up.
*makes video about ice types because it’s cold in the usa*

sjcodan neither is it my fault that your life is terrible so why don’t you go do something productive?
Actually, both Kyurem formes are still Dragon/Ice...

"Why do people live in Texas?
That's a lot of damage!"
That's a nice description for Freezy Frost there, seeme like a great move to use.
Black and White Kyurem are still Dragon/Ice, not ice and fire/electric
Ikr
What if Aurora Beam and Aurora Veil are Ice type because they create a thin beam of ice and use the hailstorm as a thin wall of ice, respectively.
The ice being so thin better bends and reflects the light to create a rainbow color.
"It's like rock without rock throw"

*_FIRE WITHOUT FIREBALL._*
But you have ember and flamethrower?
@@asherdevin Fireball is one of the most famous spells in fantasy, and sure we have Pyro Ball now but that's an orb being kicked and only learned by Cinderace.
Yay! I can watch the video and it's not 3 AM!
By the way, in spanish, there is a rock move which is actually called Avalanche

"Why do people live in Texas!? That's a lot of damage!"
-Lockstin 2019 15:27
As someone who lives in Texas, let me answer that question. My joke answer is because people are toxic and like the heat. My serious answer is because economic opportunities since the 1800s that apply differently today. Just look at Austin (and I live in Austin too XD).
About aurora being linked to valkyrie, isn't Jynx partially based off of a valkyrie?
Kind of sad Jynx never got another evolution unlike Magmar and Electabuzz.
Like for 'all mega evolutions, z-moves and G-max moves explained'
Aurora beam could also be electric type. Magnetic field- related attacks are elecric type (as this is basically the same thing), and there have been experiments with creating auroras artificially with radio waves. I think it's ice type because places where the auroras are most frequently seen are rather icy. I don't see how fire type would make much sense.
You are wrong is not called glacier it's called kill child
Lockstin: I have a reason to be inside...
Me in 2020/2021: mfw
I was hoping that you mention that "Ice Shard" is called "Canto Helado" in spanish, wich means "Ice Sing" and tried to explain why that could be...
"Canto" also is a synonym for stone (piedra).......
"Canto" in Spanish also means "Rock" or "Rock Fragment". So... there you have it.
I'm guessing it's garbage translation. Weren't some of the Pokémon games poorly translated into Spanish?
@@Chaos89P The translation is perfectly fine in this case. One of the meanings of "canto" in Spanish is "piece of rock or another hard substance", in this case, a piece of ice. OP just wasn't aware of that meaning.
@@Chaos89P Lol, as I recall, the Spanish, or maybe it was Portuguese, translations originally had the move Slam translated as "Door Slam."
Finally finished watching all of these. Now time to the Pokémon types series!
Random detail: the translation of the name for frostbite in Portuguese means literally "ice burn".
15:18 as a Texan, I feel targeted
Seriously though, a couple of years ago we had a BAD hail storm that totaled a lot of cars (including mine) and did massive amounts of damage to roofs and windows. Thankfully, storms that bad are rare.
"You're as cold as ice! You're willing to sacrifice your love...."
here where i live isn't cold, it's very hot
Crabominable is my second favourite Pokémon ever sat just behind Chandelure
Chandelureis my favorite ghost type
It's December but still it's super hot in my country🌶️
One more thing to mention is how Pokémon seemingly treats snow and hail as one and the same. If it's snowing in the overworld, there will be hail during battles in that location. Also, blizzard gets an accuracy boost if performed during hail, as is the hail would be part of the blizzard in place of snow. In terms of game design, it's okay since they're close but snow shatters if it hits you to hard and hail can shatter you if it hits too hard
3:53 In Japanese, a bad or cheesy joke would be described as “cold” (寒い).
In Cantonese they are called Cold Jokes (冷笑話)
15:00 Might just be a separate stretch, but mist and haze is frequently used to symbolize the passage of time in Japanese artwork. Perhaps the idea is that the stat changes wear off over time that's hidden by the mist? It's not scientific, but I prefer my stretch. Great video!
Technically 'cold' doesn't exist, it's the absence of heat
No no no. Heat doesn’t exist. Its just the absence of cold
