These designs with swapped stats make them awesome and crazy! Blissey looks all spiky and dangerous, Greedent looks just like a grown up Skwovet with long hair, Gardevoir still looks nice even with a new body armor, Absol looks more evil and less likely helpful than regular Absol, Pheromosa is adorably cute and should receive a pre-evo, and Shuckle kind of looks buff but is instead very weak if attacked (intense anime gut punch and he keels over onto his knees, clutching his stomach: Huoooaugh!)
Video Idea: The Pokemon's pokedex entry gets switched. Example: Drifblim turns from a kidnapping balloon to a rescuing one Drampa turns from a protective grandpa to one who couldn't care less Absol truns from a misunderstood Pokemon to one who people turn to for knowledge and is highly respected
Yeah, there's a reason Shedinja has low defense. If that Blissy gets a Substitute baton'd from anything with even a tiny bit of hp, that defense stat means that substitute is taking 2-3 hits before breaking!
I thought about this too, but it would be functionally useless. Because its attack and defense are equal, close combat would be infinitely better as you would never EV train in Defense for a pokemon with 1 HP
@@rivergibbs7773 if could if it had its attack significantly lowered a lot by stuff like parting shot. But the terrifying thing would be if you baton passed a Substitute.
Ron I think a really fun idea for a video would be have fans submit names for fake on (JUST the names) and you create fakemon based solely on the names What would you think a Pokemon with a certain name would look like if you knew no other qualities aside from the name
Or a Fairy/Ghost-type Spiritomb composed of 9 good souls, to contrast against the 108 souls of Spiritomb. In Eastern philosophies, it's thought that there are 108 temptations that one must overcome in order to achieve nirvana. The number 9 represents a trinity of trinities; 3 is the magic number, after all, treated as a benchmark in numerology across many cultures.
Remember, Drowzee and Hypno are dream eaters, so the folktale/rumor of them kidnapping kids is not fully indicative of their behavior, just an unfortunate consequence of how they eat. If you wanted to inverse them, they'd essentially become like the BFG; they'd give dreams instead of eating them. I would design them so they'd both be psychically attuned insomniacs that are able to locate sleeping beings and are nourished by being in their presence. Drowzee would be able to push dreams and nightmares out of their hosts to study them, as they lack the creativity to make their own, while Hypno embraces the role of dream creator, sneaking into dens and human homes to implant both wonderful dreams and meticulous nightmares into sleeping humans and Pokemon. It would be commonplace to pin the blame of dreamless/restless sleep on Drowzee, while rumors would tell of people experiencing their near future in vivid dreams or stories of lost folk somehow finding their own way home only to realize they sleepwalked the whole way in a lucid dream guiding their way home, both happening in areas where wild Hypno have been sighted.
Quite fond of the names you presented. For Absol...? Absolophy? For Pheromosa is Phearsomosa. These are not my best i am more of a nickname kind of guy...
I think it'd be interesting if Inverse Absol is the one that people mistake and slander regular Absol for like Inverse Absol actually does summon disasters, but regular absol only predict and warn
That one absol that ruined it for everybody else. I love the concept. :D Even funnier would be if all the other Absol are warning people of disaster, that this particular one keeps causing.
How about this for the next Idea? What if Pokemon had the mirror opposite personalities? Like dancing and carefree Ludicolo becomes solitary and brooding.
I would like to see Kartana have its stats inverted, while keeping its Katana inspiration kept with low physical stats, high special stats, and being slow and high hp
This would be a really interesting gimmick for a fangame! Not like, they change into these forms, but basically regional variants. I'm thinking like, some regional legendary exerting a strange Inverse Power over the region and it makes pokemon develop like that!
Great designs today! I love how Absol turned out. It'd be fun if you did a Happy Ending video where you took Pokemon with tragic back stories (like Absol, Cubone, Banette, etc) and rewrote their stories to give them a different design
8:53 Pokemon, but their morality is Changed. IE, gengar (chaotic evil) would become (lawful good), Xerneas (Lawful good) would become (Chaotic Evil), and absol, would become True neutral.
Technically, Shedinja doesn't just have the lowest base HP stat, it has a _non-standard_ HP stat -- if its HP was calculated normally it would have 11HP at Lv.1 and 103HP at Lv.100. Correspondingly: - The lowest (standard) base HP of any Pokemon belongs to Diglett, at 10. - The lowest (standard) base HP of any fully-evolved Pokemon belongs to Dugtrio, at 35.
In my opinion, I think that using a formula to determine stats similar to what I’ll explain would be more fair to each Pokémon. (A) is the Pokémon’s stat, and (B) is the average of all Pokémon’s stats. For stats above average, I’d go (A+B)/4=X and for stats below average I’d got (A+B)x0.75 For blissey, that means her HP would be (255+80)/4=83.75, which could be rounded to 84. If a Pokémon has 55 attack and the average was 80, that would be (55+80)x0.75=101.25 or 101. This way, it wouldn’t cripple Pokémon that people enjoy.
I actually made pre-evolved UBs though my Pheramosa prevo was named Scurinda (from scurry and linda, meaning cute, just like Hermosa means beautiful) it was pure bug type and scurried around quickly, cleaning obsessively, because Pheramosa bullies them)
I have a cool idea for a challenge, how about the fans choose a non pokemon franchise character and Truegreen7 with 5 other artists create a full six pokemon roster for the character as if he was a gym leader with the caveats of 1st must be the 1st stage starter 2nd must be a mid-stage 3rd must be final stage 4th must be a ridable pokemon 5th Must be a regional form of an existing pokemon that would fit the character 6th must be a legendary pokemon. All artists must also include a proposed gym badge for the character.
GOOD IDEA FOR ABSOL! : weakness typing (The pokemon becomes the type it's weak to) or reverse typing (the typing that feels the polar opposite of their typing)
You could make evil pokemon good, and good pokemon evil or other complete personality swaps. Imagine a darkrai that's still dark type, just really happy, or like a very focused, serious haunter. Or perhaps a slaking that's very athletic and not lazy.
8:56 a lucky absol line that simply was so lucky that it never experience big disasters so it's disaster sense is changed to sense extreme luck It doesn't cause the luck, it just gets alerted when something crazy luck is at play You are walking down the street and you suddenly see this absol looking in your direction, you trip and fall, unknowingly that fall saved you from being hit by thing thats hanging off the side of a car and would have killed you, not only that you landed right in front of a lotto ticket that happens to have this weeks winning numbers on You get the idea, it's observing extreme luck and people mistake it for causing extreme luck and therefore treat it extremely well in hopes that it will give luck to them
I take slight issue with the stat spread of Inverse Pheromosa; all Ultra Beasts have stats which are prime numbers, but after the inversion, the defenses became 129, which is divisble by 3. They should either be slightly buffed to 131 or slightly nerfed to 127.
I feel like the only way you could make a happy Absol is with a concept inversion. Instead of a creature that sends warnings to people that are believed to cause those warnings, it's a creature deemed to be this great hero, but in actuality, it constantly brings about misery and despair. I actually made an Edgar Allen Poe Pokemon that had this concept. The one problem with the idea is that it sounds more like something that isn't an absol than one that is... heck, it might have even gotten its reputation from chasing off absol... or maybe after it got that reputation, absol tried to chase them off, which continued their bad reputation. Edit: wanted to mention that the one I made was actually a convergent form of Corviknight... who gained their reputation by looking like a Corviknight in a region where Corviknight can't be found.
Personally, what I would have done is swap HP with speed, attack with sp. defense, and defense with sp. attack. This would maintain base stat totals while also giving a natural physical/special and offensive/defensive flip.
Shiny Reverse Absol is by far the best design in this video, it almost feels like the shiny version should be how it normally looks, the red skin and green eyes look far better with the gray fur. It also should've had Fur Coat imo
I outstalled and defeated Chairman Rose with a single Greedant once. I personally believe he was driven to insanity because this steel type master and owner of a massive corporate empire was defeated utterly by a single fat squirrel named S.I.M.P. (Phineas and Ferb reference). Unfortunately Raihan and Leon were too much for my Squirrel to handle. (This was in a normal type run where I only used four pokemon BTW)
I think an interesting way to have made Blissey work with that high defense would be something like iron barbs, but it turns the actual damage calculation for the recoil against the opponent.
A video idea that would give Absol a better life actually pairs with a personal theory I've had for a while. The theory is that humans and pokemon impact each other's types, which is why objectively good and helpful pokemon like Absol are Dark type, and certain trainers that use a specific type almost exclusively are physically or mentally strange, like the Fairy Girls in X and Y having those strange eyes. So, if a species lived in an area where public opinion of them was flipped, their type would change. If Absol lived in an area where it's disaster sensing powers were appreciated and respected, it might become a fairy type. If Raltz grew up in an area where people were closed off emotionally, it might lose its fairy typing before becoming Gallade.
this is a great philosophy for designing more kinds of variants of Pokémon, and i'd love to see more of those where the base colour of the Pokémon don't change
An absol who becomes basically a search and rescue 'dog' or one who instead of foretelling disaster, seeing one is supposed to foretell good luck and prosperity. Like seeing one in the fall means that winter will be mild and kind this year, that sort of thing.
You could do this by swapping: HP with Speed (higher HP tend to be slower and vice versa) Attack with Special Defense (physically offence to metaphysical defense) Defense with Special Attack (physically defense with metaphysical offense)
I think an inverse sneasler could be cool! A stalwart protecter, much less agile, but better suited to withstanding strong attacks. I like idea their still more heroic than their modern ancestors.
8:58 maybe making more unique specific variants of Pokémon like Bloodmoon Ursaluna? could make an Absol who helped a village prepare for a disaster and as a reward for saving them, the villagers started treating the Absol like royalty or a god
I picture Pheromosa being completely still, quiet etc. Then they find something to fight for & in a flash, Magical Girl Transformation they unlock their full potential...
this is a really cool concept especially seeing so many ways to take the pokemon with the inverse stats outside of a role reversal. one funny concept would be emolga who instead to be a quick but kinda of weak and frail it would be big and chunky who uses his wings to fall with style and divebomb into enemies.
8:54 drawing Pokémon the way the fans see them. For example a lot of people like absol so it would have a more heroic design because we all know that it is warning us of danger not causing it. Another example would be like a happy mimikyu that doesn’t feel the need to hide because all fans love it. Or even something like drawing bidoof more like a mascot because that is what the fanbase kind of views it as.
Well if you really want to make it so that we can give absol a happy ending how about What would Pokémon look like with opposite lore Basically Negativemon which are Pokémon who's pre evolutions would stay the same, but one thing or multiple if required would change what it does and look like completely. I normally don't like commenting idea's but you asked for it and this is the first thing my brain could come up with Have a good one to Whoever is reading this :)
I was skimming the comments to see if anyone else came up with ideas for Absol, and I really like this one What if it has something to do with Giratina’s altered reality? Hence the “negative” aspect of your idea It could also open up opportunities for redesigning ghost Pokémon with tragic backstories, like Phantump or Banette
I have an idea you could reverse Pokemon types since there are 18 types assign each of them their opposite type then go through with some iconic Pokémon & redesign them with the swap types This is a suggested swap chart but not all types I think I paired perfectly Ghost - normal Dragon - fairy Fire - ice Bug - flying Fighting - psychic Grass - steel Water - rock Electric - ground Poison - dark

the shuckle kills me
MEGA MAN SHUCKLE POG!
I found this channel again after a few years, and I loved it those years ago. And seeing that Shuckle, I can say I still love your pokemon to this day
Well if you really want to make it so that we can give absol a happy ending how about
What would Pokémon look like with opposite lore
Basically Negativemon which are Pokémon who's pre evolutions would stay the same, but one thing or multiple if required would change what it does and look like completely.
I normally don't like commenting idea's but you asked for it and this is the first thing my brain could come up with
Have a good one to Whoever is reading this :)
I was skimming the comments to see if anyone else came up with ideas for Absol, and I really like this one
What if it has something to do with Giratina’s altered reality? Hence the “negative” aspect of your idea
It could also open up opportunities for redesigning ghost Pokémon with tragic backstories, like Phantump or Banette
I have an idea you could reverse Pokemon types since there are 18 types assign each of them their opposite type then go through with some iconic Pokémon & redesign them with the swap types
This is a suggested swap chart but not all types I think I paired perfectly
Ghost - normal
Dragon - fairy
Fire - ice
Bug - flying
Fighting - psychic
Grass - steel
Water - rock
Electric - ground
Poison - dark
Video idea for my boy absol. Redesigning Pokémon with the opposite category, e.g. the disaster Pokémon could become the peace Pokémon or smth
Video concept:
Taking pokemon with dark and/or tragic backstories and redesigning them to be happy.
