Heading out to the opposite end of the galaxy myself right now deep into the Formadine Rift. The view of the galaxy from so far away is breathtaking and well worth the trip.
I just bought it about a month ago for sale on the PS Store for $7.99 and am having such a great time with it. I've yet to actually leave the bubble (I'm currently at Maia in the Pleiades Nebula, which is the farthest distance I've traveled yet), but I'm currently working to upgrade my Explorer enough in order to take a real journey into the unknown. Already got a 5A FSD fitted, which seems like a world of difference from what I started out with. Although, first I'd like to get my permit to visit Sol before I actually venture out into the black. Best eight bucks I've ever spent in my entire life.

@@juanantonioloreto1848 lol I hadn't realized that. In the galaxy map I almost never use the power play filter, so it's harder to tell where exactly the bubble ends and Maia seems so close. My bad. Thank you! And yes, I've actually started engineering my FSD over at Farseer. Current jump range is around 34ly. Just gonna try and engineer it some more (I need to collect some materials first but I keep getting sidetracked lol, there's _so_ much to do it's almost overwhelming), use my Imperial Eagle and/or Diamondback Scout to do some combat missions in order to earn back the millions of credits I've already spent and complete some Federal Navy assassination missions to get my Sol permit, and then I'm off! First stop on my list of sights to see is HIP 58832, the highest reachable system in the Milky Way. Got any tips you can share to help speed up the process, as well as some recommendations on places to check out once I finally do head out into the unknown? Also, good luck in your adventures as well, cmdr. o7 EDIT: Just got my Sol permit! Was a lot easier than I thought it'd be. Now after I visit our home system I'mma continue engineering my FSD, earn more credits and then make the deep trip.

I remember my trip out to Beagle Point. I did it in my original Asp Explorer (I have a much better Asp Explorer now). I can't remember what it's jump range was. But the thing is, I didn't have any trouble crossing the Abyss on the way to Beagle Point. After reading the beacon there and scanning the planets, I decided to see how far out I could go. I think I managed 3 jumps before the next star was about 110 light years away; that was as far as I could go. I went back to Beagle Point then decided I was going to make my second trip to Colonia as a way to head back to the bubble. It was getting from Beagle Point to Colonia where the Abyss gave me a hassle. I found myself trying a route, only to discover it was heading to a dead end of T Tauri's. Then I would back track and try a different route. That lasted for a couple of days before I was back into a star density I could easily navigate. I didn't run out of fuel, didn't die. I made there and back again. By the time I reached Colonia, my ship was black from not having any paint left. The structure was groaning, desperate for something more than rubber bands and paper clips, but I made it. Today, I have an Asp Explorer that can jump 63 LY in a single bound. I could also take my fleet carrier along for the ride (although honestly, it would slow me down). I will do it one day though. After all, the fleet carrier could get me to that star that was 110 LY further out; and then some! Safe home, Commander.
im going to be making my first long range trip in elite soon, heading to the core for NYND side note: the only stellar body that scares me is white dwarfs and neutron stars, and the only time they scare me is when i see a popup saying "emergency stop" and im in the jet cone

WOW! Route 33 is a name I've not heard in a LONG time (not since DW1). Hell, people stopped even creating (much less posting) routes when engineering came out. (except for registry points). It's refreshing to see people actually out there in unengineered ships. Welcome to the Deep, commander.
There is a whole history of exploration that's been lost thanks to engineering upgrades making routes like '33' and the ones in the Formidine Rift obsolete. Thankfully a lot of the history has been recorded and can be referenced through EDSM and the Galactic Mapping Project thread on the frontier forums.
Man, explorer culture is so cool. I'd hardly call myself one, at this point I just travel routes that have been charted by people since 2014. It's pretty surreal if you think about it.
keep going mate, we haven't explored not even 1% of the galaxiy yet even though most "interesting stuff" is discovered, there's still the Raxxla Mystery, and you may even find an undiscovered system! grab yourself a DBX and jump out there!!
Honestly, mate, there's literally billions of systems that has never had a human rest their eyes upon in the galaxy, let alone observe, study and visit them. Blessed are those who tread the unbeaten path; you may find something truly remarkable, extraordinary and magnificent that makes the Collection of Wonders pale in comparison. Who knows? Just talking about naming on pc xbox ps, I played on pc for a while and got a first discovery close to the bubble. Then started on xbox a year later and visited the samey system to check, yes my name was on the star but suddenly there were planets in the system that were not discovered the time I found the star the first time.
Thinking of installing again, don't have any engineering but have managed to put together a Diamondback Explorer on shipyard with 33.96ly unladen, is that likely to be enough?
Could be close, probably not? But the first bit of engineering will cost you like an hour and get you close to 40 ly, I'd guess... A tiny bit more and you can bring an SRV (if the DBX is capable of this, I don't remember)
I read in another video that that's just someone with him playing/chatting with discord or something like that - to keep him sane on these long journeys.
Tetco is a custom COVAS he has. He stated at the beginning of this trek he found the in game one's annoying at how repetitive they are. (I'm pretty sure it's just someone saying some voice lines so he can put it in the video)
I switched from Xbox to pc last year and traveled to some of my first systems I got my name on and my Xbox tag was still on them even after I deactivated that account o7
Regarding the Route Plotter, the reason it has so much difficulty with Route 33 is that many of the doglegs in the route exceed 60 degrees and the logic of the plotter no longer sees them as "going forward". Look for me when you are out there. I was #1067 of DWE 3302...

@@gnardada3322 I've heard that you can get stuck between scoopable stars with a jump range below that but I'm carrying three large fuel tanks (I know, I'm an idiot) and could go for FSD injections so *maybe* it's possible? I'm very close to Sag A* at the moment but I've never been to Beagle.
@@gnardada3322 That would be the smart thing to do but I'm a hella long way from civilisation at the moment. I was living happily in Colonia until one day I got bored and decided I was going to point to the middle of the galaxy and just keep going. I didn't make any preparations!

I wish I could understand explorers. I don't think it's in my brain to be impressed by stuff out in the distant edge of what I understand to be instanced stars that look the same as their counterparts back in the main areas. I really do wish I could understand it. Feel like I'm missing out on enjoyment in this game, cause it's all grind and lack of rewards where I'm sitting. Just don't get it. Jealous.
The further you're out, the longer you just keep going, alone in the dark, the more real it feels. At least gets your imagination a kickstart at some point. For me, it's the atmosphere - while thinking about the actual point in spacetime that really exists, which is pretty unbelievable. No human being will ever be there irl, the dimensions are sooo way beyond what one could realistically even remotely grasp... And that's how you get lost in thoughts :)
