That Strange Wilderness reference at the start was great, close enough. Always appreciate this quick ones great for practice of stuff I would never usually create. No love for bloom?
The finished vid looked like a reference vid! Nice! Kelp and sharks mix like peanut butter & jelly, so I'll be using this tutorial to come up with something cool with my logo. :)
Hey Kev, thanks for the tut, now I understand volumetric lighting I can model a background for my aquarium & get rid of that crappy thing I bought on ebay 10 years ago LOL. Stay safe, keep on smiling & ......... Go Dodgers ! 😮👍
You’re welcome Nigel! Volume lighting can be really cool. If you want to replace the aquarium background, go for it! This could get you part of the way there. I’m not sure we are safe with the election tomorrow, but at least the Dodgers won Hahahaha!! Stay safe there too man! I hear good things about your neck of the woods right now. Keep that up 😀😀
Whenever I add the wave modifier it starts waving at the bottom and makes it up to the top so by the time it’s done it only has made its way halfway up
Definitely. I’m currently on a pretty low end machine for these videos now. I have an i7, GTX 1070 graphics card, and about 16 GB or ram in this machine right now. This would be cheap to buy.
Wait, yes, you can instance kelp “stems” and save memory, yes. That’s a good way to go about it if you don’t have too many twisting and wanting “too much” variety.
Finally, The kelp tutorial we were all waiting for !
Donuts are so 2019 !
Hahahahaha!!! It’s “healthier” 🤣
This simple setup looks better than most all of those insanely complicated and tedious node tutorials for underwater scenes
Thanks so much! I like to keep things as simple and manageable as I can.
"Seriously dude, get a mousewheel" - just for this, I´m going to do this scene :) Thanks!
Hahahaha!!!
Best one yet.
Thanks!! This one was fun, and that chat Sunday we all had helped quite a bit, so thanks man!!
90% Blender Tutorial, 10% comedy, 100% useful
Haha! Thanks!!!
Cool project!!
Thank you!
Currently working on my bachelor thesis about kelp farms and im animating stuff :) thanks!
That’s really cool! Kelp is so useful and important, so I hope you do well on the thesis!
Damn, people in blender community are amazing, hardly I'll come across someone who's not interesting and funny. Cool video (:
Thank you!!
Man, I was looking for something like this all last summer and now it just randomly shows up in my recommendations lol nice tutorial!
Awesome!! I’m glad 😀
Impressive, looks very realistic!
Thanks Marc. I was hoping it came across at least decent to other people 😀
Your videos are top quality
Subbed
Awesome, thank you and welcome!
This is really cool! Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks Julian! You’re welcome!

Double that! I've been looking everywhere
Very Thanks.😊
Very welcome 😀
Ah yes, "switch to cycles"
Good tutorial tho
Thanks!

You GOT the reference! That’s where I remember that from hahahahaha!!! Thanks!! Not much love for bloom here as it’s too hot haha.
Underrated channel
Haha, thanks!!!

Thank you!!! That’s a really flattering compliment and makes me want to do even more! I’d love to see what you come up with!
@@KevBinge I'll be sure to post a link for you here when it's finished :)
Superb. 10 out of 10 for originality, Kev :-)
Thanks David! I sometimes watch NatGeo and it gives me ideas every now and then haha!! I hope all is well!
@@KevBinge all very good over here :-)

It's like you read my mind because I'm struggling with the vegetation of an ocean scene I'm making 😊😊 thanks!
That’s great timing then! I hope this helps you 😀. I can’t read minds though. That’s a superpower reserved for only a few 🤣
Mind-blowing
Thank you Prasad!
These videos are really helpful......make more of these please
I plan to, thanks!
Super useful! Thanks for this
You’re welcome Scott! Thanks!
They should wave around more so it can look more underwatery
Nah, these are plastic ones. All the real ones are dead.
:/
this is amazing, thank youuuuuu
Thank you 😀😀
I said you did a good job like I didn't say. This is what I am saying now, or rather writing :D
Thanks Dominik!! 😀😀😀😀
Great video thanks! :)

Thanks! I did a short video here: ua-cam.com/video/xb46BLx1uBA/v-deo.html
excellent work :O)
Thanks Gary!!

You can play with the height and width parameters, and there’s a setting under time for speed. Try to find the right balance.
Oh, another guy who teaches me how to kill my computer in the most efficient way. K, I subbed. Great humor.
Haha! Thanks Christian! Welcome to the channel!!
damn.
Oh nice! Your using ssgi native
Thanks! I don’t know if I had it on for this one.
subnautica vibes !!
That was a Unity game, right?
@@KevBinge yeah developed in Unity.
Although they made their own engine “The Spark Engine”
That’s awesome! I’ll need to check it out. Thanks!!
How about a sci-fi scene with lighting and shadow, sun and lights are so tricky.
BTW I tried your camera trick around the scene amazing thx
Thanks Sumer! That’s giving me a great idea. I will think up something soon for that.
@@KevBinge oooh exciting 👏
I am for this one. Thanks!
Are you sure you weren’t on the design team for Subnautica?
Haha, thanks! I wish I were lol.
Very nice, but can you make a video about the other ten ways to scale a plane? 😂
Hahahaha! I “can,” but “should” I? 🤣🤣🤣🤣😊
thumbnail looks like minecraft with shader.
The world looks like Minecraft with a shader now lol.
I watch these tutorials like i have blender
You don’t? Lol!!
@@KevBinge I’m saving up for a desktop, are they good or at least decent for blender?
Definitely. I’m currently on a pretty low end machine for these videos now. I have an i7, GTX 1070 graphics card, and about 16 GB or ram in this machine right now. This would be cheap to buy.
@@KevBinge good to know
NVidia just released new cards too, so as soon as they become widely available, prices in the older ones should really drop too.
Why not use a particle system, you can just instance one kelp stem and save on memory
I did the but they don’t deform very well and it’s really hard to control overlap, even mathematically. It proved to be a giant pain.
Wait, yes, you can instance kelp “stems” and save memory, yes. That’s a good way to go about it if you don’t have too many twisting and wanting “too much” variety.
WEESEED
Awww yeah.
Zero dislike
Shhhh... don’t jinx it lol 🤣🤣
why is that only 72k?
I’ll never know... thanks! 😀
First I thought this was a Minecraft graphics shader
Lol!!
This is the first time I think I have ever seen DoF actually add something to a scene. Please don't make me doubt myself. ;P
why is the ocean green
kev: plastic
Hahahahahaha!! It’s funny because it’s true, sadly lol.
@@KevBinge it is
I hope it’s not too late to clean it all up though.
@@KevBinge i dont know, future seems blurry from here
Yeah it does, for all of us at the moment.
Do turtles 🐢 drink kelp smoothies with a plastic straw? 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I would say, given the current state of things... yes... probably most definitely yes. Sadly lol
Ian?
Kev
mine is soo noisy no matter how bright i turn up the lights
Yeah, it’s a beast. Volumes need more samples in the render settings, usually.
@@KevBinge thanks for quick reply kev
Sure! I was online at the moment it came in 😀
❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
