This one turned out really well!...... Just needs Moths for added realism he he!
Moths...underwater?...really....
THAT WOULD MAKE IT SO MUCH MORE REALISTIC!
ua-cam.com/video/imkSdlbXB_U/v-deo.html , lazy tutorial, moths
@@davidpkfox ;-)
@@crypt0sFX fish moth
Moths make everything realistic
Disclaimer, Made a mistake here, Megascans is only free if you are using it with Unreal Engine otherwise a different license is required, what we meant to say was you can get access to the library for free, you just cannot use it for commercial usage. But how you choose to use this on your own is up to you ;) (Thanks to all, who corrected me on this!)
About to say so 😅
I honestly do wonder if Epic Games even cares. They could have easily made it so you couldn't easily get all of the assets. I feel like they just wanted a library to add into Unreal Engine and don't really care about how people are using it
@@LuminousLabs they just want people to get used to the convenience of using photoscanned objects
sry but did not get the water shader working its just visible if i move to the volume
@@zaks7 I suspect, in fact, the whole point is to get people to use UE in some or all of their workflow. Their intention seems to be to make UE the powerhouse of both movie and game development. This is why UE is also essentially free... it's a pretty decent software from what little I've used it and I respect Epic for making it free.
Model in Blender, final render in UE to skirt the rules is possibly the way to go. If only Adobe made Substance Painter free... Ah, I make myself laugh.... Adobe... Free.... hahahah
You sir, are one of the more dramatic Blender tutorial creators I have discovered. This really helps to break up the monotony...
That's some serious bang for using a lot of the "fast" methods. Looks really slick.
LOVE these videos! They just keep getting better!
This would be great if you didn't speed through every little step. For example, you said subdivide it and use cloud modifier but you went through and did it so fast I couldn't tell what values you used and what you actually did. You aren't doing a favor by fast forwarding through your actions. We're here to learn, so why would you not let us see what you are doing?!
Don't be racist bro.....
'cause it's not a tutorial, it's a showcase of a technique.
If you have doubts or don't know what's certain things do search for other more basic tutoriais then comeback.
The modifier part is a basic tool that's standard to make landscapes, if you don't know what it does that's on you, you shouldn't even be bantling coping the exact values and looks in the first place, you should apply what you learned in your own studies.
This was a fun and educational tutorial! Thanks for being a gem in the ocean of Blender videos.
You're the best concept art channel that I always watching every update that you post, great voice, great explanation, awesome, totally 10/10
Thanks for showcasing a new approach to particle whirls! I never really thought boids would be this useful. When I tried an underwater scene myself, I wanted a whirlpool of fish particles and just used smoke sim + fluid flow force field with a single vortex force field, and it was very hard to control them.
The commentary made me chuckle, great job! Please keep it up! Fast techniques to create AMAZING results
I am so going to try this!! I made a pufferfish recently with blender and this is the perfect background for it yayy. Thanks for providing this video and your voice is so fun to listen to!

You are my savior. thank you !
this video was really helpful, i was stuck when it came to making underwater tutorials and this has helped a lot.
more recently i have been able to follow tutorials like this, since i am more familiar to blender i don't need a step by step tutorial. which is nice
This is very fantastic, being a fan of submarine world and living near of sea i've really got amazed, i'll save this tutorial

You have NO idea how you just helped me. 😎 I'm going to redo my underwater scene now. I use a cube for volume but I will try using World instead.
Fun and informative. really like your work :)
That's really useful. thank you!
Great tutorial thank you
great tutorial subbed great work
This is amazing!
I love your videos dude. This is something that I actually think i could do
nvm I tried can't get textures from megascans or anywhere else for some reason. I'm trying to do exactly what you do but of course it just doesn't work for me. Idk what I'm doing wrong
I think by seeing the quality of tutorials.. I'll share the channel and heres a subscriber..thanks 😊😊

Beautiful
Very nice, thanks!
Really interesting tutorial!
Wow 😍 really impressive
Mindblowing
its awesome.. thanks
Gorgeous
I learned a lot and had a good laugh with the fishes :D
You are the best, I'm totally fan of your channel 😊😊😊
Daemn, i realised what i really missed in my own scene.
Volume absorbtion node!
Thank you for tutorial!
Loved it
This is awesome 👏👏👏👏👏
awesome!!
brilliant!!!
Great! Now I'm your newest subscriber!
SUPER COOL
looks wonderful.. i really wish blender had a blur node that would've helped the "fake" caustics out a lot just being a bit smoother but I've had a bunch of idea to fake things for doing underwater volumetrics in eevee and you've done all of them and more good to see it works out pretty well haha
Check out the "Discovering Fake Caustics in Blender" by Polyfjord i think that'll do what you need it to!
Thanks mate
This is using Eevee... 😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩 Real time and fast rendering... Thanks for the tutorial... 🙏🙏🙏
When I learn blender I will use ur vids as reference
Sorry🤣🤣🤣! Im subscribing ur channel cuz of that laugh. And thankyou cuz this is what I was searching for. I'm grateful to ya.
this was GREAT!! I would love to see the photoshop part aswell! @Critical Giants
Dude.. this scene is crazyy... you could have also rendered a maybe 10 sec video too.. with a small camera movement.. that would be crazy.. but as such this is so cool..
LOL the fish...
I totally laughed with you 😂🤦♂️👍
Nice scene!
😁
I would blur those caustic shadows, but it's ok. I really like the concept!
Its too good
damn !! Thanks for putting me on quixel appreciate it !!
Amazing!!, can you also share the workflow for compositing? Like choose render pass, bringing to photoshop, and so on, thank you
Great ! I hope you shall provide us how you added the "final touches" in photoshop (around 6:06 in your video).
Thanks for the tuto nevertheless
very cool
you can also enable caustics from the shadow settings, there is a cool tutorial from kaizen tutorials.
That's pretty dope. Also, does the full process includes the Photoshop process or just Blender?
wow the end result looks otherworldly
because it isnt real
heftiger dude
Thank you!
You're welcome!
I wish my teachers taught me with this passion
Holy shit this is exactly what I was looking for
cool..thank you....
Great tutorial! Although the caustics seem a little too defined for the assumed depth.
Hi, it turned out great! Can you tell me whether the 1.5-hour unedited video available on gumroad also shows the Photoshop editing process?
you should have used multi layers on the voronoi it looks odd on the final rinder
You are amazing! This is sooo helpful, just I'm not sure how to connect more than 2 textures for the shadow haha but I will try! Thank you 🌟
Love your tutorial dude ❤️
Wow
Awesome stuff. Now i have to think of a comedy sketch that will incorporate underwater ruins... Maybe some moths cult...? xD
what a clean, high quality and quickly tutorial!
Indeed! I love the style!
hi i got black screen after add principled volume to world shader. how can i fix it?
Love ittt!!
Will this works in cycles too OwO ?
Thanks for the tutorial.
“We just need to add the texture and we’re done”
Fish texture: when will the pain end…
Isnt quixel megascans supposed to be used in Unreal only? According to its license
Hello there! If I plug the volume node into the world output it turns everything black. It only works for me if I apply the volume node to a material node in the scene.. anyone know why?
same as well, eevee is good but in cycles everything turns black
For me, if I use a sun light, the volume is too high in cycles. If I use a spot light or area light instead, it works fine. My understanding is that this is because the sun light is infinitely far away, so no matter how low you set the volume density, the light won't reach your scene.
are we just using the original fish image for the bump? or we edit it first at photoshop to make that black and white photo? 3:54
