Bonnie Prince Charlie was an entitled, implosive, man-child who screwed Scotland from independence for his own selfish gain that he wasn't even able to get. Had Johnnie Armstrong led the Jacobite's, Scotland would be a free country.

@UlsterCountryball No he didn’t. Charlie had no legitimate children at all. His illegitimate daughter had three children but their known lines all died out
Prince Charlie wanted to push on. Apparently, some double agents managed to convince the war council that there were more forces between them and London than there actually were. The only professional government unit was the Black Watch, which was in disgrace for a mutiny a few years before, in addition, there were some hastily thrown together militias. If they had known this, they almost certainly would have made it to London, now holding it is the question. The Butcher Cumberland was already on his way back to deal with the Jacobites, and unless George II surrendered the Royal Navy would probably still have been in government hands, making it difficult for French more support to arrive. But, considering how the story ended, they could have done no worse than to press on.

Princes are not bound to give an account of their actions but to God alone - Charles I. Parliment exists at the pleasure of the King, if the King is unable to disband a traitorous and evil Parliment, then the Kingdom is not ruled by the law but by a terryany legitimised by a lack of resistance to this cruel and unusual tyrrany the English-speaking peoples are subjugated too. I am an American by birth, but looking more deeply into the religion of my fathers, by that I mean the Catholic Church, I see a political heritage more sane than any ideology to which I had previously subscribed or have since studied. Give me a King who knows that if he does not rule to the best of his ability dammnation awaits him, and I have no fear of tyrrany. God save our King oe'r the waters! May I one day be able to cry Tandem triumphans in celebration of the success of our cause.

it baffles me why people romanticise him when he wanted to restore an absolutist monarchy
Nothing wrong with that ;)
Sounds like a good idea ngl
Because fuck England, Scotland Clans would prefer an Absolutist monarchy over the fucking English Parliament.
