Thank you for such a nicely done video, it's very inspiring and informative. I'm in my late 50's and dealing with some unwanted belly fat. I'm new to 5:2 and have finally put together a 500 calorie/day plan that allows me to get the most 'bang for my buck' and keep me feeling good throughout the day and night. Doing this is shrinking my appetite a little and I'm eating less on the other days as well. All the best to you Stephanie and to anyone reading this comment.
It’s great that you see the other benefits already. It was key for me to stick with it then and still now. Thanks for your comment and best of luck for the continuation.
What a lovely and thoughtful review of this diet. I am a 68 year old retired mental health nurse living in Texas, USA. In my retirement, I have become very overweight and unhealthy. Your video was just the inspiration I needed to do something about this. Thank you so much.
Oh I’m so glad. Thank you for the lovely comment. I hope you find the pace that suits you. I do 5:2 but some friends do 16:8 (leaving a minimum of 16h between meals every day). And ultimately it’s not about being thin but about finding a weigh you are happy with. Best of luck
Savoring food… yes! On my fast days I love to have a full bag of riced cauliflower and mix in a pouch of lemon pepper tuna.. = 180 total calories. I eat it slowly and savor every bite. I feel very satisfied after as a result of the low carb, high protein macros and eating very slowly. Thank you for sharing your experience and results! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It does sound good. Although I am not a good fan of cauliflower. I often have a salad of avocado, prawns and grapefruit. Very fresh too. Thanks for your comment and glad that you enjoyed my content.
Thank you. Also had surgical menopause- I did the 5:2 a few years ago but you have inspired me to go again! I will watch this again to keep me motivated - if you do others, would it be possible to do it without the background music? I found it difficult to focus on your words with the music playing. Merci
Oh I’m so glad I did motivate you Charlie. Interesting comment about the music. It’s the done thing in UA-cam but I can certainly try without or at a much lower volume. Also did you know you can slow down the speed of the video? It could help as I know that I speak fast and that, with ly accent, it can make it difficult to understand.
I connect to the message you're giving in this video. I had a hysterectomy at 38 years old and have been gaining weight ever since and I'm old now. I'm desperate to lose some weight and your method sounds like such a good idea for me. You're an interesting and pleasant-sounding person! Thank you for sharing.
@@Stephanie-Bonnet thank you so much. can't wait for the update :) almost 2 years now. I plan to start fasting on Mondays and Thursdays regularly so an update would be helpful. Would like to know if there is any specific order you eat your food on the restricted days. And anything you totally avoid on those 2 days compared to other days. What about coffee intake. any changes in that?
I’m going to do this on Wednesdays and Fridays which are the traditional fasting days in my religion. Usually I eat plant-based with shellfish on those days, but I’m going to try eating only 500 calories in OMAD. Fasting days are all about prayer and focusing on God, so eating less will help me do that. And of course it’s good for my body! ☦️
Thank you so much for your insights into the 5:2 lifestyle, I'm am hoping that you do a follow up, it is my second time at doing this way of life ,can I just add to your observations that on my fast day I feel a lot calmer thank you o ce again
I am yea. It’s now became my lifestyle. It works very well. I didn’t do it the week I was on holiday but I got back to it the week after and in 2 weks I was back to my weight of before all the holiday rose wine. Really works for me.
I haven’t stopped. I am still doing it. It’s now been 15 months. I don’t see it as a diet but as a lifestyle now. My weight is not going down anymore as my body now reached its natural healthy weight. But doing intermittent fasting allows me to enjoy food the days I don’t fast without guilt. And the days I fast are self care days so I win every day! Works for me in any case. Good luck with it!
I lost 15lbs over 3 months with the 5:2 diet. However, after 3 months. , I couldn’t maintain it For some reason, on the 500 calorie days, I started getting so ravenous that I couldn’t do it anymore. I also didn’t know what to eat on the 500 calorie days. I really wish I could have stuck with this
Maybe you can try again? You did it 3 months, which is great. Or you could try a different fasting rythm, maybe the 16h one where you stop eating each evening at 6 pm and only have a meal from 10 am the next day? But really the key is to think about it as a lifestyle, not as a diet. So what is the lifestyle that would work well for you and your personality?

You eat that on a fast day? That’s not what fasting is!

Character-building through the discomfort of voluntary hunger
That is a good summary!

Your discussion of this way of eating was very helpful as I prepare to give it a try👍🏽
Glad it helped and good luck with it.
What an articulate description of your journey. Thank you so much for sharing this valuable insight.
That is very kind of you to say; thank you!
I enjoyed your video and loved your accwnt ❤
This is a great video. I’m trying the 5:2 diet now. Looking for inspiration and this is really helpful!! Thank you.
Good luck. Give it some time. Results dont start to show until a few weeks in but then if you stop with it it really makes a difference.
How'd it go?
Lucky you as I miss M&S food Hall, I used to live in the UK. We dont have that here.
Maybe there’s an equivalent? Many brands do low calories meals. But yes it is handy!
Very inspirational. I just discovered this diet and it is what I'm going to start.
Brilliant. Stick at it for a few weeks as results don’t show righr away but when weight starts to go down it is then pretty fast.
Thank you for this information
I would love some more meal ideas please 🙏 if you do another clip
Finally find someone who actually did it for a couple of months. Thank you for sharing. 👍
Yes and still doing it more than 2 years later! I need to post a video update. Anything specifically you'd like to know?
I don't know if you have high blood sugar or pre diabetic, if so did you see any improvement in your A1c results please?
@@MP-nj1qy no sorry. I don’t so can’t help with that question

Yes. I have been planning to do n update for a while. Will get to it soon! And it’s really nice that you feel calmer on that fast day.
@Stephanie-Bonnet thank you so much for getting back to me ,I can't wait for your follow up
@@Stephanie-Bonnet I have enjoyed this video and would love a follow up too!
I really enjoyed this video and your lovely personality. Greetings from London:-)
Oh that is so sweet, thanks a lot!!
I like the 5:2 diet but no food on the 2 days (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
It's not no food, it's less calories, a maximum of 500.
Hi! Are you still doing the diet? How's it going?

Can you drink black coffee and water on a fast day
I drink tea throughout and lots of water. It helps for detoxifying.
you look French
