i’ve been struggling with this and you’re the first person i’ve heard talk about it thank you !! i have loose curls on my ends and veryyy tight roots which is soo weird
You’re welcome! Hope you manage to fix it!
probably due to heat damage. when I knew nothing about my curly hair I used to have different patterns on a single strand of hair. eventually I learnt that my hair was damaged so I cut it
It can happen on virgin hair too. Mine can be like that. It’s normal, could be hormonal or other changes in your body. Also we can’t expect our hair to be perfect
Gel helps a lot
@@i.a.9744 i definitely have heat damage and i’m going to cut it this week :)
also could be genetic, my hair has 5 diff textures in it lol
Clean washed wet hair
Leave in conditioner
Combining different gels -light first
Apply product right from scalp
Deep condition-protein conditioner moisturizing conditioner
I was able to grow my hair back with liittleextra reactivate hair growth serum. Taken a three-month apart. First one in Jan, second in March. It's important to apply the serum directly to the scalp and massage into scalp with very firm pressure. Do not pull on your hair. The hair coming in seems to be good quality. There's been less hair fall overall. I apply it at night, the serum doesn't make your hair greasy, but you only need a few drops to work - less is more. I also, switched pillows cases to a satin material so that my sleep is easier on my hair.
I've been recording my hair growth journey with the Reactivate Hair Growth Serum on social media, and my followers are amazed by the progress.
I've reclaimed my healthy hair, thanks to hair serum of reactivate
Sounds good what is re activate? Is it a brand new
Watching your process made me realize that I simply was not focusing on my root. Lol how ironic that I knew my issue was frizzy roots but did not put more time into focusing on my roots. Hey, you live and you learn. I also appreciate that you provided a visual of your roots frizzy and ends defined and then the transformation. Great video and what’s more, we have the similar texture 👏🏽
Same but that’s also because most videos told me not to put a lot of product on the roots
Thanks for the feedback🥰
@@Raymondinakangolhatthis! i’ve realized some peoples goals were volume when they recommended it!
@@Raymondinakangolhat exactly that’s so confusing !!
@@spacebar9733well that’s because in the videos you (and I) have watched recommend NOT to just because their goal is volume which isn’t definition so it varies based on what your goal is.
I tried to do this so many times and everyone gaslighting me telling me it looks like I wanted it until I seen the thumbnail and noticed the uncanny resemblance in the “before” image.. thank you for this I was starting to want to shave my head idk why I didn’t just UA-cam ages ago
😂you’re welcome
You don’t understand how my this has helped me out! I have a mix of 3b and 4c hair from genetics and this solved my problems and gave me the definition I wanted!
so glad i could help
OH MY GOSH SAME! I have 3c/4a due to my parents (3b/3A + 4c ) and I’m trying to find me a good defining way for my curls! I’m glad it worked for you!
I had this issue when I started my curly hair journey years back and by experimenting and playing around with my routine I eventually did a routine similar to yours (minus the 2nd hair gel lol.)
The problem is, at the time certain curly hair communities were against putting a lot of product at the root when in reality it doesn’t work for every hair type, especially those with coarser hair.
Thanks for the video, im gonna try using a lighter gel along with a thick gel and see how that works
Yeah I heard that too about not applying products to roots but it doesn’t work for me. I think if it works then 🤷🏽♀️
FINALLY someone with my hair type! It's crazy how similar our hair is! I finally understand why people love my hair because yours is gorgeous! It's so weird seeing things you don't like about yourself on other people but loving them! GIRL YOU ARE GORGEOUS! Currently obsessed with your content! thank you sooooo much for taking things slowly, the way you explained things and the inclusion of the music really set a nice mood.
Thank you im glad i could help🥰
Wow! This is a GAME changer for me! I just gave up on wash and gos . My hair went through a complete change after I had my daughter and wash and gos, and finger coils no longer became an option because of my frizzy roots. Now I'm reunited, and it FEELS SO GOOD 😂.
😅glad to hear that you’re able to do them again! I do love a good wash and go
Thank you so much for not gatekeeping! 💕
Ofc! This is what this channel is about
A problem literally in plain sight. Thank you! Will work this routine on next wash day!😊
😂😂I know it literally is
Your hair came out amazing

@keke kurly. Hair spray at the end keeps the frizz away. Protip
I got thee most AMAZING results from doing your method! I was losing hope and then I founds this. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!
So glad i could help you! It really does make a huge difference doesn't it
My sectioning game is weak 😂 tryna be like you
lmao just practice
This was literally so helpful and succinct I love it!!!!
Thanks girl!
Thank you for this video! I also have multiple types. And especially struggling with my front hair. I have been a natural for 4 years now. No heat.
You’re welcome! Its such a journey of trial and error to learn your hair
@GrazeldaMartin my edges are so rough compared to the rest of my hair. It's so annoying.
I tried this and I wasn't too sure about it when I was doing it, I felt like I was separating all my curls and was like I'm definitely doing this wrong. But when I finished? WOW. I used all the same products I had been but putting them in the way you did was a total game changer! My hair felt very flat and weighed down with product before, now I got my natural body and bounce back. Love how my hair looks and it's so much less frizzy.
yes it really does work! Glad I could help
Wow. This is exactly what I struggle with. I have coarser hair towards my roots and very defined curls at the end. This is the first video I've ever seen addressing this issue. Thank you.
you're welcome. The root is often coarser as its more virgin hair
OMG THANK YOUUU!! you helped me with my hair!!!
Glad I could help!
This is exactly the video I needed.
Glad i could help!
This video should get 1 million views. I have the same problem, thanks for the info ❤
Thank you😂i hope it does!
This method turned out so beautiful and was so quick!!!!! It was easy and I was surprised on how well it worked on MY BANGGSSSSSS OMGG. I just wanna thank you because I’ve been searching for a good method. I’m liking sharing everything. Every thick hair curly girl gotta know about this one. My leave in ran out half so I used my normal crème and it worked better. Still amazing💕💕💕
😆 so glad it was useful for you. it really is a game changer when you know how to do it!
I love this video and how you throughly walked us through your method. As well as explaining why you were using two gels. I never thought about how we have multiple hair textures!
Glad it was helpful!
I tried this and it works. Thank you!
You're welcome!
Very nice technique 🥰💙.. thank you so much for sharing! 💙
🙏🏽 thank you
I have a mix of 3b and 3c hair. And 3a. I have 4 or 5 curl patterns in my hair. This is going to help me so much! Thank you!
Youu welcome 🤗
I can get great definition with wetline alone, but it sucks ALL the moisture out of my hair. So I prefer botanical gels because they are more gentle, but they don’t have enough hold for my hair type. I’m definitely going to try your method now! Thank you for sharing 😊
Yes i find the cheap styling gels dry your hair that’s why its nice to layer the gels 🥰
You have to drench your hair in water before applying wetline gel to avoid that
I don't put much product on my roots and never directly on my scalp. What I find helps is to end with gel (I use Aunt Jackie's) then run my hands under very cold water and then run my hands over my hair. This in tandem with sitting in front of a fan so it's cool air which seals in the curls makes a huge difference. Heat can increase frizz when hair is damp/wet. I do this even in winter. Usually for 20 minutes then use medium heat, no diffuser and I have zero frizz and my curls keep without having to reapply before wash day which is every 7 days for me.
interesting technique. I think there are a lot of factors especially if you have very dense hair like me but i might try that one.
What are the products names
What hair type do you have? 😅
This was so refreshing 👌🏿.
Thank you
Finally my hair twin ❤
love that
Thank you so much for this! my roots were so bad and my wash n go's werent lasting anymore. I used this technique minus the excess water since that's best for my hair, and eco styler gel. Thank you so much!!
You're so welcome! Glad it works
Thank you! This video helped me so much with my daughter's hair
You are so welcome!
Thank you for the useful tips and info you definitely saved me a lot of struggle 🙏🏻❤❤
You are so welcome!
It's rare for me to find someone with the exact literal same hair as I do with the exact same porosity and curl pattern. This is also the same product problem I have. Thanks for doing this. I'm definitely going to get that brush. It looks like a game changer
you're welcome. The brush is good for detangling but i have a new fave for styling now!
Wow wow, I literally had this exact problem with my most current wash N Go just a complete frizzy mess at my roots that made my entire look just a mess
Thank you for this great & helpful video, new subscriber
Your hair is beautiful ❤❤
Glad it was helpful! Welcome to the channel 😘
FABULOUS!! I'm an on again off again natural hair lady.
are you? what do you straighten it?
Finally a fine textured curly head like me!!
Heyyy💁🏽♀️
Thank you so much! I use water, mielle leave-in, and only the 1 strong gel, and I'm good to go! I've been getting multiple compliments on my curls today!
Sounds like a good combination!
This is great content. I have 3C 4A hair and the patterns goes down one row of the same texture, then switches textures on the next row. Parting my hair is quite interesting as the part is never straight lol
Thank you. Lool i know i have a few different textures in my hair too form 3b to 4a at the crown.
Thank you so much for this!
You're so welcome!
Thank you - I have super coarse long curly hair and a real problem with fuzzy roots. My hair is so unmanageable that I wear it up all the time. Your technique would probably work for me, but I'm very old (66) and have no patience for this long process. Am tempted to cut it short.
Yes it can be a time consuming especially if you have long hair. Maybe try the same technique in sections of 4 instead😊
OMG! Finally, my hair type!
Welcome✨
what hair type is it plz??
This was PERFECT
This specific issue used to make me hate wearing my natural hair
Thank you
Thank you will try❤❤❤❤
Welcome 😊
Wow very informative video , never considered using more than 1 type of gel product at the same time.. Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome 😊it works a treat
Hair twin frfr I got over how I felt about my roots because keeping product away from the roof by only applying a quarter away from my scalp had really cut back on the itchiness. I used to apply my products exactly like you're doing here.
oh okay i dont really get itchy scalp so its all good
@@kekekurly Lucky!!!
OMGG THANK TOU SOOO MUCH!! Usually the top part of my hair frizzes and have so much tangles and I always found that weird bc the ends of my hair were much more better looking and healthier and easier to detangle? I’m gonna try this along with finger coiling as well!!
Same 😢 I think it's partly due to heat damage
@@raya74thing is, my hair never used to be like this. When I was littler, the roots of my hair was healthier and NOT frizzy. But I think I got water damage now or tension damage because I never put on heat on my hair. But I always used to do hairstyle on my hair every single day and style it wet, majority of the day my hair wet, and it’s terrible, I even got breakage from it! But now I have no idea what to do with it. Now I know that I made that mistake but idk how to heal my hair! I don’t want to shave it, but I just want my healthy hair again.
yes try it
Thank you for your video and tips. Your hair is gorgeous! May I ask where you got the cute rattail comb?
You’re welcome its from Cath Kidston
Thank you!! ❤
You're welcome 😊

Loool i love it though

Trying this on my next wash & go 😅
Yours is fine lol
thank you so much!!!
You're welcome!
This is everything! Thank you☺️ - also, can you please tell me what was the song you used for the first half of your video?
Thanks- I think its called Wine Tasting. I got it from epidemic sounds
Nice, thanks for this video
You’re welcome
New subby! Thanks babes❤
Your welcome.Thanks for subbing!
well thanks for the video. Something I didn't realize is I wasn't really putting the gel at the roots haha. I'd grease my scalp, apply leave in from root to tip and only apply get basically from mid shaft to the ends. IDK how it never clicked. Thanks for the video!!
You're so welcome!
Thank you ❤
you're welcome
i was bouta cut my shit off. thanks for this lol
😂😂😂no dont do that
That's funny lol. But I feel like miss jessie honey curls leave in is soooo great. Pricey but worth it. That shit b stretching the curl dang near making it str8 and then it just makes very defined curls when it starts curling back up..that ...along with a good eco styling gel. Try that too
im about to try this technique with all my same products right now!! how obvious that my roots were so frizzy because i wasnt fully saturating them 🤦♀️
😂😂 i know such a simple fix
Love the shirt 🇳🇬
Lol thanks😌
This is a great video for people with frizzy roots. What do you use to maintain the style for the week thank you.
Thank you. Depends how i wear it. Usually it goes up after wash day so i dont use anything until day 3/4
THANK YOUUU. The puffy roots is why I hate my hair
Yw- i know they can be very frustrating
Thank youuu
You're welcome!
i was thinking of cutting my hair but then found this😂 my hair is usually 3b-3c at the end but where the roots are, it’s naturally REALLY frizzy. i think it’s 4a because whenever i apply the camille curl maker it doesn’t define my curls. what gels do you recommend for 4a hair on the roots?
Yeah camille rose isn’t massively holding. Innersense i create hold is nice or pair the curl maker gel with the wetline xtreme gel
Im gonna cut my hair atp to get rid of the frizzy roots bcs I just can’t do that every week it’s too much 💀
@@chocolickszn9443 i did that to the back of my hair cuz it wasn’t even the same length. it was heat damaged (so it was longer than the rest of my hair) and the roots were frizzy. ever since i cut it, it’s way easier to take care of the curls
I always thought the reasoning was because our roots are lower in porosity and our ends are more porous. That has always been my theory that or people coiling their hair in the wrong direction.
That may be an additional factor but it mostly down to technique as you can see from the video.
Yes!! 2 days ago I realized the left side of my hair look weird when i coiled it to the right so when i coiled to the left it looked soooo much better!!!

@@ceeze9923 yeah its under the video you are watching. It says thanks as an icon
This is a very thorough explanation. I loved it. I’m only wondering how you care about your hair over night and the next day as you mentioned your style lasts for a week. I’d be interested to know how do you manage? I struggle with the next day! My curls look beautiful only for the first one and two days. After that, I should start adding curling cream and moisturisers. Incidentally, I’m on Cantu brand. My hair is very similar to yours, it’s got several textures but it’s mostly 3C. Would you recommend a different brand? Thanks
Sandra
I put it up in a pineapple and wear a headscarf overnight. But my hair literally bounces back very well. Even if i put it in a bun all day i could still wear it out the next day.
Also Cantu is 🚮 i would try mielle or camille rose or as i am
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you
Nice video, what have you been doing at night to keep it neat?
Headscarf and bonnet
I really appreciate you making this video, because i honestly struggle in taking care of my hair. Constantly adding hairstyles to my pintrest board, but when i try it the results are completely different. Every time, i noticed their hair was more curlier and defined, while I had frizzy and multiple hair types. Since I'm obviously a beginner, i have some questions: how long does this hairstyle last, should i do this at night or in the day, and can i do other hairstyles over it?
Heyy yes results will vary depending on alot of factors. In response to your question, this hairstyle can last up to a week but you may need to re-moisturise and style throughout the week. 2-I recommend during the day so it has time to dry. 3-yes you can do other hairstyles over it
@@kekekurly Much appreciated 💗💗
fine hairs can't use small sections because it'll look stringy...but the rest is awesome! thanks
I have fine hair . Maybe you mean low density hair
First of all: thank u for this vid.
I will try it tomorrow and Hope that it is working on my eritrean Hair. But one question: isn‘t gel damaging Your Hair??
You’re welcome. No gel is not damaging to the hair. Just ensure you use a nicr moisturising one😌
finally found my hair type 🥰
Love that🎉
what hair type is it plz??
Bruh my hair is literally straight for 1-2 inches before becoming curly. Thanks for the help!
do you have looser curls?
Wow. Its indeed "different strokes for different folks". I have "3A/3B" hair and I only use shampoo, conditioner and a leave-in at the ends. Ill have to wash my hair the next day if I applied anything to the roots. I tried finger coiling once and my hair was all tangled up.
Yeah afro textured hair can generally handle more product
Very helpful video!! Do you not get flakes with all of this gel??
No i don’t surprisingly! These gels dont flake
Thanks I saw this on TikTok and I immediately came here
Love that!
Same!!
Omg thank you for this my roots pmo so bad 😭they just RUIN all my styles
Lol yeah it can be frustrating
Im wondering what gels you used apart from the curlmaker? And what are the steps ? Which goes on first? Literally taking notes over here😅 is it better to fingercoil vs denman brush? The denman gives me puffy roots.
I used innersense i create hold and Wetline xtreme
I'm struggling with this but my issue is hot flashes and night sweats. I have a good combo that works, it just doesn't last as long as it used to with all the sweating.
hmmm not sure how i can help with that- maybe try getting your hair up in a pineapple
I needed this! I was going to cut my hair super short if I couldn’t find a solution to my problem
No dont do that lol! Glad i could help
Omg thank you, thank you, thank you for this vid! I’m definitely trying this next wash day 😌 I would love to see some tips on how to grow hair 😫 my hair gets to the too of my shoulders then it just stops growing. i deep condition every 2 weeks, use a clarifying shampoo when i think i need it and wash my hair about every 5 days. and if you could also tell us how to know if multiple textures are genetics or damage. i had a uniform curl pattern until i had my baby. now i’m 4 a/b curls in the back of my head near my nape and above my ears i’m 3c, i just started using camilla rose and that helps it look just a little more uniform, but it still drives me crazy lol new subbie btw !! 💕
You’re welcome it seems like this was a common problem amongst us curlies. I will do another hair growth video for sure.
@@kekekurly thanks so much!
Exactly like my hair

Do you do anything else to help it last all week? Night routine, morning routine etc
Yeah i have posted my curl routines on my channel
1. Managing the sections is so hard.
2. Styling the crown area is the hardest.
3. If i let my hair this wet it'll take more than a day to dry even after diffusing.
Dont do it then lol
I like to use Mielle’s curl defining mousse, so I don’t use gel. Should I apply a gel underneath the mousse and do the “apply at the root” method you portrayed in the video?
Depends on the level of hold you want but yes still apply it to the root whatever you choose to use
@@kekekurly Thank youuu! 😚
I wish I could just start with YOUR hair.
Lol thanks
Okay I have this crazy dilemma but I guess I have to pick a struggle the problem with this method is my shrinkage is CRAZY so if I try to avoid puffy roots it makes my hair defined and extremely curly but if I don’t focus on the root then my hair ends up poofy and dry and unmanageable
😂😂 pick a struggle lol sounds like the first is the better option
Styling with a brush (denman) works better than using fingers. Also brush upward instead of down to get lift at roots. Check out Manes By Mel
i dont like denmans i have tried them
@@kekekurly ok, I feel that. There may be a better brush for you out there :)

@@dancinginthebasementlove that for you😁
Does putting the gel in make your hair have that crunchy or stiff feel to it? I try to always avoid the gels because of that.
Yeah ofc but then you get rid of the crunch the next day
