Heyyyy if you’re still a bit new to this wash & go thing, here’s a few more helpful tips I wish someone told me before I cried in front of the mirror for hours :) • if your ends are bone straight, just cut your hair man. Don’t hold onto it, it’s not worth it, & it’ll save you from many frustrated ugly mirrors cries. • if you want a more voluminous wash and go, style with lighter hair products and maybe skip out on the gel (*con*) doesn’t last as long / tends to get frizzy after 2-3 days • if you want a more defined / weighed down / elongated wash and go, style with heavier products (like thick creams and butters) and gels (*con*) less volume, lots of product buildup • it’s okay to experiment! everyone’s hair is different, maybe you don’t like any of the styles mentioned in this video, but you can create your own :) dedicate some time to just go crazy • rinsing your curls with cold water helps a lot with frizz! I mean ALOT. If you don’t like cold showers, just bend your head over the stream. • layers are your friend. Layers bring endless possibilities, lots of volume, and so much depth. If you haven’t already, invest in a cool haircut! (You know if you want.)
I noticed that putting a foam overtop my gel made a more voluminous but longer lasting curls. Like the foam makes it harder to have a gel cast, but the gel still keeps the curls in their form for much longer
You. Are. A. GENIUS!!! I had NO idea you could get such a difference in your hair's shape by the way you concentrated where the gel went! Now I know why my wash and gos didn't look right! Thank you so much for posting this video!!! 💖💖💖💖💖
Thank you for such a kind comment you’re so welcome!! 💓 I thought someone would’ve made a video by now about this but I searched to no avail. I’m glad I could share some newish info with you! :)
I feel like it’s also the brush type too and what you do after. Like when I brush my hair with a comb in the shower, put it in a top bun and towel for a bit, then put it in a bonnet over night and it comes out with different looking curls than I usually have lol
honestly, i just need the confidence to let my hair look big. im so used to weighing it down to make it look as small & ‘’straight’’ as possible. anyway, thank you for this video, i’ll be using these tips!!! :))💓💓
GIRL I know it all too well. I stopped looking at my hair as “frizzy” and started looking at it as just hair lol. Takes practice and lots of reframing but again it’s juuuuust hair (cool hair at that) and you deserve to feel great in your most natural state! So glad you could take something from this video 🥰 best of luck to ya always
I’m definitely an elongated wet look person. But I was trying to figure out how to do a different style and almost considered cutting my hair. Thank you for the tips!
These are great tips! I’ve been natural since 2003 and I realize I was clueless. I typically have the wet long look and just refer to it as first day hair. I have to wait a few days to get rounded look. I will try new method next wash.
Omg my mom used to style my hair like that all the time! GOBS of ampro gel. Letting my hair dry without any product with it really opened my eyes to what my hair really looked like 😭 I hope it works out for you please let me know your thoughts after! Thanks for watching 💕
I don't have the same hair type, but this was such an informative video that you executed so well! the way you present the info and your opinions is so clear and uplifting
I absolutely HAVE to try the "rounded" look. Thank you so much for this!!!! I struggle with my hair daily. It never comes out the same. I see so many girls and they part their hair and brush style, I find that to be a huge struggle!! Thank YOU SO MUCH!
Omg I needed this so much! I honestly couldn’t stand that my hair seems to love the triangle look but I never realized how much the gel placement mattered!
i’ve litterally been dying to know why every time i wash my hair the hair volume/ style changes even though i put in the same products, i’m so happy i came across this video
I needed this so badly! I got so sucked into curly hair styling tips that say do not put gel or heavy products near roots and I kept getting the rounded look - even though I like the triangle! Off to style my hair right now!
ngl I clicked on this thinking it would be another overcomplicated video with barely any difference, but WOW props to you!! the video was SO informative and actually makes a huge difference!!
THANK YOU! My hair is extremely curly and coming from am all white family (myself included) nobody knew how to handle my hair and nobody could teach me! I am so glad I found your channel! Thank you beautiful!!!❤
I never heard or thought of this before but the title and thumbnail already make so much sense. Your video sponsor is also relevant to me so THANK YOU for making this video.
The thumbnail!!! The top and bottom left are giving luxury brand ad campaign. The top and bottom right are giving me high school still trying to figure it all out haha. All look great though!
Thank you. I had no idea it mattered. My hair always came out the same shape no matter what I did and now I know why. Looking forward to trying this. Have a blessed week.
your natural hair form is soo beautiful and rounded, it’s giving afro vibes 😍 but can we take a moment to talk about that body girl!! so happy that you’re getting the body you wanted. 🤍
god i cant wait til my curly hair looks this long in a few years when i graduate highschool.. ive been growing out my hair since 7th grade cus i never took care of my hair before then but i learned to love it, and im a freshman rn, and its barely past my shoulders atm
Omg nostalgia. You are me when I was your age!! :) I used to watch vids and write the same thing, man this made me smile today. Best of luck, time will pass in a blink of an eye, enjoy every stage!!
Go away with your long, nice hair. Lol I think I really am jealous but it does look gorgeous 🥺. I am still grateful for and love my own hair though. It’s a bit thin and short but it belongs to me! Thank God for our strands ❤️
Finally someone preachin, I been doin this shit for a while. I just love changing up my hair but I always find it hard to with curly hair can’t straighten or color it without big damage. But I could always switch up the shape by parting it different or not parting it at all or sleeping with it a different way. ^^
wow! I think you just changed entire my life! I did a big chop 2 years ago, I decided to take my hair growth seriously this year after last year I had traction alopecia from high buns. I've been heat-free for 1 year now and my curls are flourishing. I had trouble creating looks I've wanted while trying to grow it longer. this definitely fixes my worries and anxiety. Can't wait to try this out! THANK YOU AGAIN! THIS IS SO RESEARCHED AND EXPLAINED PERFECTLY.
Ahhhh I’m so happy for you!! Traction alopecia is my BIGGEST fear ever, I’m so sorry that happened to you :( glad to hear you’re doing so much better and the curls are poppin, all my love to you thanks for watching 💓
Aah i wanna play with gel for that last look with scarfs and earrings 😍 I love my volume but sometimes I wanna show off my ear too 😆✨ thanks for sharing!
Yeees I love that you love your hair in its natural state too 😍 I’ve been rocking my hair au natural since my buzz 4 years ago, keeping it simple with shampoo and conditioners 🌳
Omigosh. I can’t wait to try these. I had no idea what to do with my hair but Imma try the cream you use and the gel methods too! You have a very similar hair type to me so I’m soooooo excited 👏🏽 Also- question (hope you see this) my curls are way more defined less frizzy in the front but the top of my head and back of my hair is always frizzy and not as defined- does that mean it needs more attention- like care and product? 🤔
For the rounded hair style, is their a specific way you should add the conditioner? That always weighs my hair down. I can’t find a specific routine to do. Love ur vids btw❤🤭
I stumbled across this video for a reason 🥰. Your hair is very similar to mine and I have been _struggling_ trying to figure out why my curls never look like right after wash and go. Now I see where I'm going wrong.
This is my new favorite curl video! I’ve always wondered why I got different shapes… Now, I know. Thank you so much!! Also, I was wondering if you have any anti frizz techniques? In particular, my front hairs are pretty straight or barely waves and instantly frizzes (the hair that would make a bang if I cut it).
I LOVE your hair and oml thank you so much. I be looking like a triangle head most of the time and not in a cute way haha. Super flat to volume so I'm excited to use this.
Aww thank you so much, & my girl Jayme Jo on UA-cam just made a video about getting volume at the roots, it’s game changing!! Deff recommend :) all my love thanks for being here💕
Gorgeous hair!!! So do you think most curly salons do it the the rounded way? Or do you think they place gel all over the hair and shake the roots for volume?

Not to be weird or anything but what is your. Hair type and how did you get your hair to that length
not weird at all :) my hair type is 3b/c and I have a video on my channel alll about it! should be the third one down from this one :))
@@laurscurls ok thanks
I noticed that putting a foam overtop my gel made a more voluminous but longer lasting curls. Like the foam makes it harder to have a gel cast, but the gel still keeps the curls in their form for much longer
