    She said this video is not about the products. THANK YOU! She’s right. It is about things that work for YOU. But if you’re like me and you’re STILL experimenting because you haven’t found your trusty and need recommendations here’s what she used:
    Mielle Organics Pomegranate & Honey Product Line
    - Shampoo
    - Conditioner
    - Leave-In Conditioner
    - Super Hold Edge Gel
    Mielle Organics Brazilian Curly Cocktail Curl Cream
    Fantasia High Potency IC Hair Polisher Styling Gel with Sparkle Lites
    Lottabody Coconut Oil and Shea Wrap Me Foaming Curl Mousse (for part line flyaways)
    Loved her technique and explanations so definitely watch the vid.

    Oh, I 'll sit under the dryer the next I put my leave - in on. I realized that when I get hair boogers in my hair it's because my products and their formulas don't mix well. I now mix it in my hands before applying it. If it leaves lumps in my hands, I don't apply it.

    I don't know if this was mentioned but you can only deep condition with a deep conditioner, not a rinse out one. But sitting under the dryer with your leave in or regular conditioner helps it to absorb better.

    • @marquitahaney6144
      @marquitahaney6144 Рік тому

      Where did you gather this information?

    • @RDaniels28
      @RDaniels28 Рік тому

      @@marquitahaney6144 I learned it over time. A rinse out conditioner is designed for some penetration but it's mainly for the outside of the cuticle, the chemicals in a deep conditioner penetrate deeply that is why it's only possible to deep condition with a deep conditioner.

  • @UptightCurlsbyAmanda
    @UptightCurlsbyAmanda 3 роки тому +12

    Haha funny that you’re using this Mielle collection. Kimberly is the one who turned me on to that line because of how she raved about it. I didn’t end up loving it and I don’t use Mielle anymore because of Monique’s whole debacle, but yea that was her.
    She does make great videos, I watched like every one of her videos for about a year during my transition. Recently stopped following her just because she has never responded to any of my comments and that’s just a huge pet peeve of mine lol.
    Great video idea though, and you KNOW your hair moisture is Next Level!!
    Warm water opens the cuticle layer so allow the product to penetrate. I don’t understand the cold rinse because that would close the cuticle to the styling products... idk

    • @tresstoimpress4224
      @tresstoimpress4224  3 роки тому

      I love the products! And love watching Kimberly!
      That was pretty messy on the behalf of every person involved!
      I remember Rasheeda from Love and HipHop (who has gorgeous hair) posting the conditioner on IG back in 2013-2014 ish and tried it and have been hooked ever since.

      @@tresstoimpress4224 yea that was a real shame. Yea Kimberly is really fun and funny, I just got too annoyed with taking time to comment on so many videos only to be ignored time after time (i know she gets a lot of comments but to me that’s sorta just part of the job...).
      I tried Mielle pretty early on in my natural hair so only after using other products did I realize they just weren’t amazing for me. Clearly they work for you though!! Your hair looks awesome

    • @minimalassembly7893
      @minimalassembly7893 3 роки тому

      Uptight Curls,
      What products have you found are working if not the Mielle?
      Also, the cold rinse before styling makes sense bc the purpose of styling is to seal and shape the hair. Your stylers shouldn’t really penetrate, but coat and define your hair.
      Kimberly has responded to one of the comments that I posted, but I get your frustration. Have you tried posting shorter comments that might be quicker to read? Hope that you find a channel where you get get great tips and interaction.

    I found that the hair boogers are the result of two product chemistries that are not compatible. You can check on your hand by mixing the two products together and rubbing between your fingers. The hair booger will form in your hand and that is the indication that those two products cannot be used together. I also struggle with this and it really stood out to me because I understand how this destroys a hair style. I Hope that this is helpful to you. I really love your content! When you did had long hair, what was your hair care regimen and hair length retention method?

    • @tresstoimpress4224
      @tresstoimpress4224  3 роки тому +1

      I washed and conditioned once per week and did flexi rods, roller sets, twistout, braids, etc. Wash and gos were not my thing, but my hair is healthier now so I like the wash and goes more.

      @@tresstoimpress4224 did you use sulfate free cleansing free shampoos, regular shampoos, moisture conditioners, protein conditioners or any deep conditoners? Also did you deep condition weekly or once a month? Did you use water based moisturizer and oil sealant? Did you use any LOC, or LCO method? Sorry for too many questions. I am happy to see someone who has similar hair type, porosity and fine textured like mines.

    If I understand what you're talking about, it's because the gel doesn't work with certain products. To check you would take a bit of your conditioner or cream & the gel & rub together & it'll show how well they work together. I've even found some product lines don't work well with their own line. Like, I love the smell of Lotta Body but when I bought their line of curl products & tried to use them together, product "buggers" as you call it 😂

    Moisture train? All u gotta do is maximum hydration on ur hair & honestly u dont even need to do it for 7 days, 3-4 days work for me. Once its done maintenance is deep conditioning once a week. The most time consuming part is the 1 time cherry lola treatment to begin the process.

    • @tresstoimpress4224

      Thanks for the tips. I was just trying Kimberly Cherrell’s process and that’s what she calls her routine.

      The maximum hydration method? So cherry Lola treatment, then acv rinse, co wash, clay rinse and leave in? For up to 7 days??

    • @empressswiss2080
      @empressswiss2080 Рік тому

      @@caob1876Cherry Lola treatment. Mix ACV with clay and u can go ahead and add a good deep conditioner to that clay mix. I use Aussie 3 min miracle. That gets it to a nice consistency so it not as messy and adds some slip and gets the deep conditioning done in the same step. They just do ur wash n go or whatever u wanna do.
