The third form for Dracula is what was missed on the SNES version. Just perfect here.
No perfection here. It's literally just a slightly more challenging version of the gargoyle fight from the regular game, just reskinned.
@@msw0322 Moving a boss in this game requires multiple routines to be edited. In my document I have 700 lines for hijack and editing pre-existing code. Then 180 lines of ASM with new stuff. Beside the reskin it was not the boss with the most changes. Still a very cool fight in my opinion. Really love how it turned out.
@@Bogyway Kinda wish it was harder
@@thebigguy270 If you ever snag the editor to make it a bit more chellangint please share. I love that crap. Was there a section you got borred? Still think it could use touch-ups to not waste the players time. Like dieing for the wrong reasons is bad. I am more worried to turn people away in frustration then providing a real challenge.
There are some in it though that should take you a while to figure or get good at.
My favourite Castlevania game of the series at last takes a full hack!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Toad: Thank You Simon Belmont but dracula is in other castle
😂😂😂😂😂😂
😁😁😁
That is the ending of a CV1 hack. RedWizzard hehe
Glad they kept all of the msic from SCIV in this hack that is part of what got the game where it is today.
Crack that whip
Give the past a slip
Step on a crack
Break your mama's back
When a problem comes along
You must whip it
Before the cream sits out too long
You must whip it
When something's going wrong
You must whip it
Now whip it
Into shape
Shape it up
Get straight
Go forward
Move ahead
Try to detect it
It's not too late
To whip it
Whip it good
When a good time turns around
You must whip it
You will never live it down
Unless you whip it
No one gets away
Until they whip it
I say whip it
Whip it good
I say whip it
Whip it good

Gerald Casale needs to be a DLC in a future Castlevania game!
The sheer amount of typo's in that introduction scrolling text.
Not to mention the ones when you talk to the people in the game as a whole.
I like the changes made to swinging with the whip. The game is looks great all around.
Finally the Sequel to " Castle " .
Now im waiting for "Another Castle 3" to come out for the ultimate Castle trilogy !
More colorful. Great songos. Mario pipes? No rotating stage? Flying coffin?I HAVE to play this.
Such a impressive hack with huge areas and zero slowdown.
Thanks to VitorVilela and his fastRom hack.. still the game does have a lot of issue with slowdown. Main issue is a too extensice sprite draw loop. But it is a tone of work to fix this.
The spelling errors and awkwardly worded intro can be brushed aside. The amount of time and effort that went into this hack should be respected. I'm only 40 mins in at this point, and so far it has been spectacular. I'm definitely loving this hack.
Update : 1 hour 25 mins in, W gameplay!
Final update: I watched the whole video from start to finish. There is definitely a lot of bad spelling and terrible grammar to forgive, but nonetheless this hack delivers. The gameplay was mind blowingly great. Nostalgia with a twist!
This was the best rom hack ever! I hope you make more cool stuff Bogaa!
Nice to see some Super Castlevania 😊😊😊
asombroso....... saludos y felices fiestas ......
Other Castle II?! Nice!!
What an amazing hack, its practically a new game.
Holy shit the music from this is crazy. And I completely dig the altered physics.
2:05:49 It's a very hard hack, but I love this moment in the game where they involve us in a final joke 🥹🌷
The misspellings in that intro are absolutely atrocious. My Lord...🤦
Unless the developer's language is something like Sanskrit or Urdu, I'm not buying into it. It's atrocious. I remember bad translations. I don't remember intentionally bad translations, like every other word and pronunciation mark.
@@christopherthibeault7502 My mother language is swiss-german and we can kinda spell how we like. In school we learned the normal german and I don't manage to spell right in any language. I know I should never made text stuff. But did feel like showing off the text engine I did for someone else.. I did think it is fun to try myslef in story telling a bit. But then everyone that seems to like reading is offended by unproper spelling hehe. Also no one bothered to assist and I do not like to go on peoples nerve with project stuffs.
@@christopherthibeault7502 Exactly. The only company I can think of is Toaplan (Zero Wing? "All your base?") And they are out of business so...yeah.
@@bogaagames2706 Whoa! You developed the mod? Tell you what: the text engine itself is fantastic! It sort of reminds me of what Castlevania II could do, but you can have multiple pages' worth and have a bit more complexity in the messages.
That said, the translation does suck, but we can ameliorate that with a volunteer in the litter of players who can do a quick brush-up through the text. Even your reply sort of conveys your own tics when writing English. I wouldn't know where to begin, since I've never tried to hack a ROM and I wouldn't know what to prod or where. I'll still spread good word of mouth in case someone who can read hexadecimal code has some spar time.
The other complaint I got is with the emphasis on crazy whip tricks, like whipping straight down and hanging in the air to hop somewhere higher. I get it--it's a quirk of the physics engine--but I keep looking at it with a tilted head for 100% Dutch angles and it always seems off. I'm used to Vanilla SC4, so the closest to odd I expect is moon-walking upstairs.
Still, congratulations on making the mod. It's something I've never seen a modder do with Super Castlevania IV before--picking any stage and NOT going full plaid on the difficulty. Keep up the good work!
@@christopherthibeault7502 For text it is simply text in ASM no hex editing needed. So anyone who would like to work on touch ups could contact me.
Most of the gimmicks implemented need rework. That is what this project is mostly about. Testing stuff.. making progress in the disassembly.. The ring-glitch gimmick is something I always had like to make a hack about since the mechanic is fun to use once you get good at it. I am aware that this is not a new castlevania game for casuals. Tried to implement a lot of things that could still make it a fun journey if you like to discover secrets and cheese.
All of the typos are crazy, but the gameplay more than makes up for it!
Looks great! 🙂
Nice work!! This game needs a proper comeback on the next Nintendo console.
This is how they should of made Super Castlevania, to follow suit with Simon's quest.
The SNES needed a traditional Castlevania and they got an incredible (imo near-perfect) installment with SCIV. Though I'd agree with you that a Simon's Quest-esque sequel after SCIV on the console (with original superior graphics/animation) would've been neat to see.
@@rowenpugner3872 the soundtrack of the original SNES game is a masterclass. The SNES wasn't nearly washed up when the world turned to polygonal graphics. The 64 has some all time great games but overall in my mind it was kind of a flop. The SNES could've easily been upgraded at home or by purchasing upgraded consoles. We'll never know what could've been but I sure wish the industry would've waited.
@@jasonleveck8546 Agreed 100%! To this day, I still find it frustrating how close Nintendo got to that CD-ROM addon for the SFC/SNES. They got close enough many studios were literally developing for it, then had to drop everything when it fell through. Would've drastically changed the entire gaming landscape forever... but at least we got Playstation out of it.
@@rowenpugner3872 right! Fun to wonder what could've been, but Sony has done a great job.

28:25 Wait how is that body talking and telling you to watch out for it's head 😂
I can’t imagine if this was the game I got when I was a kid. So awesome
The wizard is my brother but I am nothing like him. We gonna die! 😂 😂
the physics make no sense how can a whip lift a man up😮
I've GOT to play this!
I might do a version where I change up all the ring stuff so no ringlitch is requieret. If you really hate the mechanic. Should be easy to pick up though.. but I can see how this mechanic is a total dealbreaker for some.
Sweet! How do we play this?! @@Bogyway
@@TobattoVisionlink is in the description. Just spend some time in the first room upstairs. Read what the tutorial leady has to say. Use the autoplay to observe and see that you can do the moves shown. From there it is just a challanging hack. It might take you a view sessions to get through. You have a death counter for a reason and it will fill up quickly later into the hack.
So awesome, dude. Thanks! I may do a few test runs and then do a stream with it.@@Bogyway
Great music atmosphere
Great gaming skills! That was an amazing speedrun with 2 intentional deads to show off the "Warp" feature. This upgraded Castlevania IV is no "Castlevania Chronicles II: Simon's Quest" in rock music, superior graphics, item management, town management, voice acting, and storyline. I do not like how they broke the "4th Wall" too many times with Super Mario Brothers references, instead of doing "Warp" via other characters (Siphia, Grant, Alucard), secret passages, "holy travel" spell (clergy), etc... However, I do like how Other Castle 2 is a EXPERT version, more designs gimics version, and more expansion version of the original Castlevania IV with RPG elements. The ending of Other Castle 2 suuuuuuccks!! It is ok to credit the developers and team, yet why do dumb flashbacks? Why not have Simon Belmont going back to town getting thanks and kisses from the ladies... and run the credits in the processes? Or do a setup for a sequel? Totally wasted opportunity to surpass Castlevania IV on every level. 7/10, because Other Castle 2 did surpass Castlevania IV in most regards recyling the same elements of Castlevania IV, but could not surpass "Castlevania Chronicles II: Simon's Quest" in most regards. In an ideal world, the merge of the best elements of Other Castle 2 and "Castlevania Chronicles II: Simon's Quest" would make for the best Castlevania game. Why not have night time changes? Getting cursed is a very interesting gimic from Other Castle 2 that was underutlized and possible to enhance a "Castlevania Chronicles II: Simon's Quest" remaster. I mean, the music of "Castlevania Chronicles II: Simon's Quest" is epic to the point you want to stop playing and realize that you are listening to the best electric gothic guitar waves in a Castlevania game in your life and you never knew that as possible..... ua-cam.com/video/P2ViwEKDgRA/v-deo.html
Thank you. Bogaa is a whiny douche.
Loved the musyc everything is scary great horror atmosphere
Super cool.i thought same the castlevania 4 but more features than original one
The broken “Engrish” bit is overdone but the new whip swing mechanic is very interesting! Well done!
The SNES music is madness
Making a great hack doesn't excuse bad typos. There's no excuse for the amount of typos in this game.
There is no excuse for the amount of typos in your homework!
Donno I used asar to assemble and it never complained
Top!
Like if 16 Bit Games ever needed tutorials
10/10 gameplay bro
What does the doggo do :
messing with your inventory.. also lets you go secret paths haha
This is a really cool hack! Such a shame about all the typos.
Super Castlevania IV The Lost Levels version
THAT fucking Music
Castlevania com elementos de RPG.
The bad English though. I guess that makes it authentic.
No, it doesn't. There's no excuse other than English not being the developer's third language, let alone second. Just because you remember the typos doesn't mean your "translation" is morally obligated to be this sloppy.
@@christopherthibeault7502 It is still cool that I made it english since most people should understand it at last. I think just having words noone understands would be worse. But yeha just remove all text would be best haha. I did read through the text probably 10 times to get it this good haha
@@bogaagames2706 Most of us greatly appreciate it regardless!
an embarrassing trolling of the masterpiece 😩
I know the intro is just bad comedy! The rings are not supposed to work like this! The game is mocking people who praised it for it's accessibility to be picked up and enjoined by anyone. I do understand your pain. Hopefully we do not have to indoor more of this level scrap of this untalented creators!
the game needs msu1 music..and it will be complete..man but this game is tough..is for indiana jones style swing whip heheh
The typos are pretty bad
How can I play this? This is awesome! I love Castlevania games 🏰 🎮🎮
Video game logic is great. Skeleton throws one bone at you *DAMAGE* but he explodes into a hundred bones and they do nothing to you
Get hit by a bone. Damage. Get hit by spear...same damage as the bone.
@@theironfox2756The bone explosion is my favorite thing about the original game though for real. It was so badass it slowed the whole game down, felt awesome every time.
@@theironfox2756 A slightest brush against a set of spikes from side - INSTANT DEATH!!!💥💀💀
I can fix this in your version if you like to get hit by bone explosion.. just one byte.
@@5434345 no insta death in this hack saddly
What is the trick to swinging from one hook to one above. Have tried for a half an hour no success.
Did you go to the tutorial lady? She shows and explains it.
Yeah those rings piss me off. I feel like anytime I succeed, It's all just a fluke! 🤬
@@bimmyfrizzo3988 Yeha the whole hack is basically about getting good in this mechanics. So if you do not enjoin them play something else. If you provide game-play footage I might be able to improve the learning experience.
Say what did he use to make the hack? 6502 machine?
Anyone know why some rmhk makers (including this one) aren't posting new work on the main site anymore?
You mean RHDN? I just don't like my work being rejected.. Everyone is free to submit to RHDN if they wish to see it there. Some other people have different problems I do not like to get into here. Personally I have good experience and are active on the forum of RHDN sometimes.. just like the ease of use on RHDO and plan to upload there.
@@bogaagames2706 Yeah, I meant RHDN. Thanks for the honest response, didn't expect one straight from the source. While I love this community and hate to see it splinter a bit -- that's all perfectly valid reasoning (can't even imagine your work being 'rejected'). Btw thanks for the phenomenal work over the years! I still use your SCIV Palette Hck (in conjunction with other hcks) to this day. Crazy how much those darker palettes breathe new life into this classic.
@@rowenpugner3872 oww.. hearing about you using the palette hack makes me think I should do some proper one. For me it was more a experimental hack and I hoped to inspire people to do a better one. I was hoping to find something like this in the randomizer but this was too advanced for me. SC4 also has so many palettes it is quiet the project..
I do not think a community splits because of it. It is probably a good thing RHDN having a competition. Might help to care about improvements. Same reason you should not use google for everything.. hacking communities around specific games always did split from RHDN to do there own thing and that is great in my opinion.
Even from a consumer perspective inconvenience helps considering diversity.
@@bogaagames2706 I have mixed feelings on it, but hopefully you're right about the split and competition. Regarding your palette hck -- yes it was a bit strange, but that's exactly why I think it complimented SC4's weird style so well IoI. It also changed the tone just enough that it felt refreshing to experience. But since nothing has come along to compete with it that I'm aware of, if you'd like to try your hand at a second one that's better, I'd also be ALL for that.
@@rowenpugner3872 I like to play with my palette hack once a year too. Usually for a hello-ween special. I am just happy with RHDO. I have so many hacks that got rejected for nonsensical reason (they probably just don't like people who cant spell properly) I like to touch them up and upload them there. You can also interact with people and comments on hacks right on the page! That is so awesome if people start to use it.
And people thought dark souls was tough....
It is just different from the souls games. The empathy to challenge player with ring shenanigans makes the difficulty similar to what you find in a precision platformer.
The complete boz Skaggs
The Intro is WTF .
I'll happily let all the spelling and grammar mistakes slide for the awesome Castle Gradius sections and the fact that the modder renamed/nicknamed the first and second halves of Dracula's Treasury "Duckburg" and "Shiny Bat Poop", respectively. 🤣
I will have to say, this game is like Simon Quest, but even better. Also the spelling needs improvement and that's the only criticism I have against this game, but the game looks very interesting and challenging which I welcome.
I found a spell checker addon for notpad++.. still need to install it but it should help with the spelling. Thanks for the feeback!
This can really use an editor. Maybe he's trapped in the "hidout."
Where was the slogra?
He is a secret boss. You get some hints in the credits where to find him.

WTF is that intro? Lol
Interesting game mod, awful grammar.
Can nobody fucking spell???
If you think that pixelated graphics are the one we played in the past, you are gravely mistaken. We used to have CRT tv's and that means you are missing half of fun. I can't stand that ugly graphics on modern LCDs.
No, my friend, I don't think so. I had a Super Nintendo back in the '90s. But when I used to post videos with filters at the beginning of my channel, many complained that it undermined the pixel art. Definitely can't please everyone.
We need to talk about spelling
Everyone talks about bad grammer nobody makes a single example.. What is bad or what is hard to understand
@@Bogyway never said I couldn't understand. Just that the spelling was bad
@@chrismerritt4306 I will try out some plugin for notepad ++ thanks for the feedback and a happy new year

I have not played and I do not recommend playing this nonsense game too much tin
What is wrong with a challenge hack for Super Castlevania veterans. Do you think every nonsens kaizo hack should not be played by anyone. Don't you think it is fair to exist since I played the original game thousends of times and wished for a challenge. Should I not share and just play it myself even when it toke me over 2 years to make and test? I listen to anyone to make the challenges as approachable as possible. You have not even tried it and just hate my work. Why? Do you not think it is cool to see autoplay to show trick in game?
@@bogaagames2706 - Spoken like the insecure, butthurt moron that can't take criticisms that you are! In addition to flopping English class courses in the third world country you live in,
1. Failing to include a Scrooge McDuck cameo in Stage 9-1,
2. Calling Stage 9-2 Shiny Bat Poop (real "mature" there) instead of the Bat Cave with a Batman cameo,
3. Stupid names for Stage A's (10's) Clock Tower sans the awesome Castle Gradius,
4. No giant chandeliers from Stage 6-2,
5. Not resolving that backstabbing wizard plot,
6. Butchered the best segment in the game. Stage 4-3,
7. No Stage 4-2,
8. And the biggest sin of all. Shit ending with shit credits!
But of course, you are the idiot who thought a Castlevania 4 hack called *RetroShred MixTape* was such a good idea!
PS - Rest of the game is good though.
Is English not Boga's first language because some of that text was rough and not sure what it was trying to say.
If you point out the line that was hard to understand I could fix it.
