- Lisa Marie Presley will be honored with a public memorial service at Graceland ten days after her death. A spokesperson for the Presley family confirmed in a statement to NBC News that a public memorial service would be held on the front lawn of the Memphis estate on Jan. 22 at 9 a.m.

I'm glad they're holding a public memorial service to celebrate Beautiful Lisa Marie. I loved what her brother wrote. Lisa always said Graceland would always be her home. How precious to know 3 generations of the Presley Family are together in the beautiful Meditation Gardens .

So happy she’s getting a public ceremony. She should! I am still in complete shock over all of this. I have followed Lisa Marie for several years since she was making Oldsmobile commercials with her mom back in the 80s. I felt a connection to her, especially when she lost her son because I am also a Grieving Angel Mom to my only son. He was 17 years. I was also left with three surviving daughters to care for. This is been the most difficult journey of my entire life! Her description of her daily life as a grieving mother was right on the money! I will always honor Lisa Marie in my own special way. I am really going to miss you, Lisa Marie! You were so inspirational to all grieving mothers. Your strength and perseverance was second to none. I’m sorry you had to be strong for too long. I take comfort that you are now in the arms of your father and your beloved Benjamin. Until we meet again, I will continue to support and counsel grieving mothers in my community. Rest in paradise, sweet girl.
As a mother of a 17 year old son myself, I can't even begin to imagine the level of grief that it must be to lose a child. In a perfect world, that is something no parent should ever have to know the agony of. If I could just say from mother to mother... The support that you provide to the fellow grieving mothers in your community is a stunning attestation, honor and testament to the life of your precious son, and to your undying love that will always shine brightly from your heart to his soul. You're a hero, and I MEAN that. I'm sending you many (((HUGS))) lots of prayers and endless well wishes.

I have a lot of respect for the family putting together a public Memorial when this is all so sudden and logically it is even more difficult to grieve in the public eye. They are truly doing what is best to honor Lisa Marie.

She was so beautiful and sweet and she had a sharp edge to her too. I really liked her personality though I never got to meet her. My loss! She looked like Elvis. If ever there was Rock Royalty it was this! Just like Julian and Sean Lennon. Chips off the old block as they used to say. Well, with Lisa Marie I find myself just looking at her with her sharp features and she looked like Elvis. Yet she was her own person obviously.
I’m very sad that she is gone now and I can only hope she is with her father and son together again reunited. That would be great.

Yep you could tell Lisa was a smart cookie, very articulate. In interviews she gave off this tough girl vibe, but underneath it all you could tell she was very sensitive. I remember her saying once in an interview that she was a somber, deep-thinking kid who felt everything so strongly and as an adult she was very intuitive and passionate about things. Sounds like she was an empath, felt a lot of pain and sadness around her. That’s not always easy to navigate when you have that personality type. That essay Lisa wrote regarding grief, she said her son’s death “destroyed” her. For someone like her who felt so much, that was probably the end game for her. She didn’t know how to navigate all those overwhelming feelings and it effected her health. It’s so sad. May she rest in peace with her father and son. ❤

No one could have imagined that just a few weeks after Lisa talked to the crowd at Graceland on what would have been Elvis' 88th birthday, that they would also be honoring her there as well. RIP LMP.

I am her age and remember growing up with the new and tabloids as a kid and I just felt I knew her even though I never was an Elvis fan as a child yet grew up with the entire Presley clan. I ache for her children that grieve their mother. I pray she is with her son and father.

Having watched Lisa Marie interviews for hours and hours for many years now- I can say the woman in that Golden Globes interview looks nothing like her. I am shocked that is how she looked 3 days ago. Her eyes are open but she looks gone or lifeless. Her skin is wrinkled, she looks frail, pale and as if she has aged decades. She somehow went from looking like the daughter next to her mom to them looking like the same age. I have chills everywhere. My heart is breaking for her and her family
I thought the same. I wanted to call an ambulance for her at Elvis' birthday celebration. She looked the same as she did at the Golden Globes. It reminded me of how no one said anything and let Elvis die. I feel like the same thing happened to Lisa Marie. I hate to say it but I think pain killers may have been involved. The signs are there but no one did anything. She was heartbroken over Ben but she didn't have to die. With help she could have learned to live for her 3 daughters. They will now have to live without her like she had to live without her Daddy. The cycle continues sadly. I hope her daughters can break the cycle. 😭💔
Billy Bush said he noticed something was off about her. She was having trouble with her balance and looked frail. She was clutching Jerry’s arm. She was unstable. She definitely wasn’t her usual self. I await the Autopsy report which will tell the story of what really happened. My guess is it’s either Covid related or Fentanyl. And I’m sorry to say it looks more like Fentanyl. Which killed Prince, too!

I agree. I think everyone who watched the Golden Globes that day noticed she looked off. I saw people commenting online that night that Lisa looked different. People were saying she had plastic surgery but I knew it wasn’t that. To me, she looked like a vampire. Her eyes were open but her spirit or life force was lifeless…hanging by a thread. Now I truly believe that she was on her way out. She had one foot in this world, but the other one was heading out. Her time was near.😢
Lisa did not look like that prior to her son Ben passing away in 2020. When I saw footage of her at The Golden Globes I was shocked. The grief literally took a toll on her entire being. Her skin looked dry and pale, her hair looked like it was thinning, her face looked so long. Even her mouth changed, her lips looks thin. Her extreme weight loss was shocking. With all due respect, Lisa looked anorexic! She kinda had a skeletal look to her face. I don’t think she was eating well and that may be why she was frail and couldn’t keep her balance. Anorexics also die of cardiac arrests.

I'm glad that a public memorial service is going to be held to celebrate the life of Lisa Marie Presley. Sure hope it's televised. I'm also glad that the memorial service will be held on the lawn of Graceland, because Lisa Marie always considered Graceland home.
---you can tell she never recovered from her young son's death in 2020. If you look at her social media, she completely stopped posting and said something along the lines of she has 'nothing good to share' anymore. The last photo she put up is one of her 3 girls and she is referencing Ben. Then she posted about the Elvis film late last year. I can't imagine that pain. I am just happy she was able to see the Elvis film and take in all that we adored her and her family before her passing.
You never "recover" from the death of your child.
If you look at her Instagram page, she was following a lot of grief pages. Poor girl, she was trying to feel better, manage her loss. 😢

Larry Geller his hairdresser and confident is still alive and his cousins, Billy Smith et al , his step brothers but George Klein the DJ passed away. His shows still play though. This is all so sad and weird. I did not like seeing her in pain. But I think she was doing for her family and her father's legacy what Elvis did for his fans. Kept going even when she didn't feel like it. She was honest about her grief and addiction and open about her stints in rehab. I believe her legacy will be multi faceted. For sure she will be remembered for her efforts to destigmatize addiction and be open about the depth of grief. Something Elvis was never allowed to do. Also I hope the charitable efforts of EPE are put into overdrive with Lisa's death. What a strong and authentic woman she is. She was so shy but also outspoken about things that mattered. That will be the Presley legacy... generosity and charity.
Now you can sing with your Dad, hug your son and grandparents. Embrace this next journey. No regrets. Learn and move on. New beginnings sweet Lady. You've beat yourself up enough.

The first time I watched her interview was with lari king when she was much younger and u could see class and mannerism and modesty in her which u don't see in most of the celebrities these days she was such a sweetheart and so warm and full of life even here even though she is sick and shaking still she answers all the questions she will be missed like his father for sure

She did cocaine and opioids and some are speculating that adversely affected her heart.

@debra I don't know why people think she died young. Once you get into your 50s, the body starts breaking down. Add to that the insurmountable grief of losing a son, and there is nothing extraordinary about it.
At least she had a full life, and didn't die in horrible circumstances. She got to see the movie project come to fruition.

..I can’t believe this. I was literally quoting her on a Michael Jackson video last week. As the biggest MJ fan, she was the dream. We all lived vicariously through her. She always had nothing but beautiful things to say about Michael and the fan community absolutely adored her. She was also Elvis’ little girl. I can’t imagine what the family is going through also with the untimely death of her young son. She only lived 4 years later than Michael and died in the same way- cardiac arrest. My heart hurts

Lisa Marie looked very depressed during this interview, she was there to support Austin, but she looked like part of her was missing, losing her beloved Ben clearly broke her spirit. I met Lisa Marie at the iowa state fair she was performing it iwas 2002 or 2003 the stage she was I belive they lost power they bought her up to the maintenance department at iowa state fair hell am a person ill talk to any 1 I talked to her about 5 minutes I asked her if she like the fair she kind of smiled said she loves them but you can't do anything cause the crowds

She was pale and her sad eyes were sunken. Something surely was going on with her circulation whereby she was not receiving the oxygen her body needed. Nothing has been mentioned about a recent visit to a physician. Imo, she went into denial about feeling something amiss about her health. It's a normal response out of fear. We all go into that mindset and procrastinate a consult with a professional. All the sophisticated testing we have would have found something, be it heart, lung clots, etc..

I was surprised to hear of her death. 54 is too young to pass on. It looks in this interview she wasn't doing so well healthwise. While I never was a fan of hers, it was pretty sad she died at this age. Yeah, I know people die all the time, but no matter how it's sliced, it is tragic she didn't reach old age. Too many people die before their time. RIP, Lisa Marie Presley.
