Hi Redline Racer! I just did a short shifter install, very similar to yours and I have a couple points.
If anyone intends to install such a kit to an EV1 Civic (European 5door version of the US Si, called 2.0 Sport) will not need the little metallic bushings, they are installed and they are pretty good quality as originals. I didn't see a reason to remove them and change for the alloy ones included in the short shifter kit. And they didn't fit with the originals, because the screws were too short.
The single most important sentence in your video is "don´t drop the pin". I dropped it :) and spent three to four hours disassembling the center console and the handbrake cover to get to it and reverse install the stuff back :( . I say you should tighten a thin wire / cord to one leg of the pins, before you start removing them completely. Remove only one, secure, remove completely is what worked for me for the second.
Anyway, mine is a little different and I hope it won´t dislocate, because the one you installed is more robust and I can see why it is formed as it is. There is no chance yours will move or come of. Thank you for your guide and I hope I can help others with these tips. I´d say everyone should buy the ones you installed.
Hey man! Just wanted to say thanks. Schematics helps me a bunch and found part number ! You’re the bomb dude, glad I found your channel ! EP3 for life ! Have a great day!
dude can you tell me the part number plss?
i need too, can you help me
Nice video. Thanks
Great video! I'm thinking about doing this to my EP3
Hontoni Arigato it's a great mod!
Nobody shows when they remove the ball like wtf man make a full vid
Dude sick video! Did this help with looseness in the shift assembly? Also, what exhaust were you running there? Thanks!
EP3 👍
Lmao I did this a while back and I did in fact drop a bushing down in the centre console. I heard it hit the frame and new there was no way I am getting that thing out of that monstrous hole. I had to buy a new bushing kit. To this day that bushing is resting comfortably at the bottom of my car
LOL 😂 I feel that. I literally have no idea where that black hole leads to 😂
Do the bushings go in the bottom or top ?
Redline questions
Hi redline, I was installing the same exact piece to my ep3 today and was having a little trouble.
The little plastic piece on this video, time stamp 3:14, what is that called and is it possible to get a new one ? After getting it in, and placing it back in the hole then placing back the black clip, I tried to shift and it worked great for a few pulls. And then the shifter went loose again and I noticed that the metal ball came out but the plastic nub stayed inside the housing.
You would be a great help if you had any info. Thanks for your time !
J Dela Cruz hey! I'm not sure of the name to he honest... delrin shifter cup? I'm not sure. You might have to pull up the ep3 shifter schematic and find the part number. So sorry I couldnt help.
Ended up that the part number was for grease🤦🏽♂️ . Honda said $345 for a new assembly .... I said no and found one on eBay for $65. But I only need the bushing 😂😂😂
Hey man do you have the link for that short shifter? I’m looking to buy one for my ep3
Randy Schneider for sure!

This is the link only for the linkage. The bushings you can buy seperate. Let me know if you want the link to the bushings too!
Please subscribe, it'll really help me out.
Aren’t you suppose to install OEM shields on top of new larger bushing?
Instructions say you don’t have to
@@RedlineRicer thank you, had contact addw1 exactly what you said👍
For anyone who may be installing one of these in the future, just know that I had one break in half while driving, had to stop and pull over in neutral going 55 mph
The short shifter itself? Where did it break? Are you sure you installed it right?
@@eggsaladbussin it seems like one of the screws slowly backed out, I know I put them on really tight, but maybe using some kind of threadlock is advisable if you never plan on removing it. It was on there for almost 5 months before it happened
do you have a link to the part?
U can find it on addw1.com
