Steam deck is way to big to be portable.... just get a laptop instead.

Initially I thought the same, but no, taking out a laptop on a bus or a train is way more inconvenient, even on a road trip or in an airport, or even if you're going out to touch grass, I know, weird for gamers, you can bring your SD with you and have a great gaming experience, if you add a controller or a mouse to that laptop is just getting worse to carry/bring around + the chungus power brick if we're talking about a gaming laptop... also the battery life, screen, performance really would depend on the laptop, having ~3h-8h battery life, at least how I use it and which was only matched by the Switch... and while the Switch is great and all, having a full controller and touchpads, which btw are great, instead of the Joycons makes a huge difference... Now size-wise yes it is on the big side, but to have all this functionality and to feel comfortable with gyro gameplay as well some compromises had to be made :P.
A Steam Deck OLED over a laptop any day. It's so convenient. I was skeptical before I owned one.
I'm so glad I waited until the OLED version was available. It changed my entire perspective on PC handhelds, thanks to Valve especially.
With a Nintendo Switch, you are stuck with the biggest IPs from Nintendo and have to wait for official ports.
If you want to run Nintendo Switch games on the Deck, it won't be as good as its emulation in the end. There will be some compromises for some games, obviously.
