Can be. I paid around $450 for my PC , i9 9900k and rx 6800 16gbvram 32gb ram, all parts were used and I built it myself. With my setup I can play any game I want ultra settings 60+fps 1440p EASY. It's not the highest end pc but really any extra performance will definitely not be worth the price/performance ratio. I'm sure for $750 I could build something "high end" lol.
I do. If I can get it physical I go for it. Everyone knows digital depends heavily on internet and subscription. At the end you can always sell physical, good luck selling them digital ones.
I watched this video to the end as I wanted to see what came top of the list I had an inkling it would be the series S as I own one and find it unbeatable value for money. It’s fast fluid small silent and runs all next gen games without a hitch, it deserves the top spot and is a must have for any gamer.
The only problem with Games Consoles is that you not only have to pay for the consoles itself, but also pay for the always online Internet connection, pay for their crappy subscription services and pay for all games, where, with the PC, you just buy a pre-built, or build it yourself, and you can game on it straight away. No subscription costs, no always on internet connection and 1000's of free games which can come from anywhere and not just the propitiatory store than the companies force you to use.
I actually have a $1200 pc. Well. More like $1000 without the monitor. I can play 4k ok mostish games playing around with the settings. I still prefer my xbox series x over it. It's just so much more convenient, so much more faster. Just turn on and play, it has the quick resume feature which means I can leave single player games running up to like 5? Even if the xbox is unplugged they stay opened. Gamepass is great too, so I don't really replay many games if any. So the fact that there are like +450 games I can try out in gamepass. Idk it's just me but I prefer it over my pc
But here's the kicker. The complexity of a PC is it's biggest weakness. Majority of people who just wants to play games doesn't want to deal with PCs' intricacy. They just want to buy/download a game and press play. No BS tweaking of settings and dealing with a crap ton of settings just to make the most out of your investment. Not to mention, most console games that were ported to the PC are buggy especially at launch. That's why in my opinion, as much as I love my gaming PC, it would never be the "de facto" "master race" when it comes to gaming.
I know everyone is comparing this to LTT's video from yesterday and while they may be similar in shape, they are wildly different on content. Linus did a great historic ranking that is mostly accurate, while Austin did a pretty fair value ranking for right now. Great work for both.

The reason I've been considering going for an Xbox (I currently only own a PS4 and PS3) is to go for the huge list of backwards compatible games. I want to be able to go to my local used game shop, find a bunch of older Xbox games that I never got to play (or haven't played in years), and buy them on disc. So the fact that the Series S has no disc drive is a deal breaker for me. I would want to go for a Series X, but I would probably have to get a used one, since the prices for new still won't go down. Switch Lite could also be a good choice for me.
As a Rog Ally and Steam Deck owner, I would have switched them on the tier list.Yeah, Windows is not great on an handheld console, but it offers a more complete and less closed experience. I haven't used the Deck since december, which is the month I got Ally.
"I Play Racing Games" There is a statement close to my heart. The OG Xbox was the best racing games machine. Not for quantity but for quality and IP variety. Midtown Madness 3, GTAs, Project Gotham, Forza, NFS, SRS, Burnout, Midnight Club, Collin Mcre and so many more
As far as the series S being the best deal in gaming you are spot on. A couple of the other options you were a lil too generous with according to value.
The storage isn’t great. Games require lots of storage now in days. If you want to expand it’s going to cost more. At that point you might well get a Series X
You can buy a used Series X for $300-350. THAT is the best option for gaming in 2024. No other option will give you 1440p 120fps natively for that price.
The steam deck is C Class. I really want one to replace my ps4 but if you make a gaming system so capable but it still can't play what most people play because of anticheat software it's not an A. There may be something you like about the original xbox, and something else linus likes or doesn't happen to mention about it that brings more entertainment or interest to the audience and from the audience.
NGL I will never fully respect the Xbox Series S because it is missing the Disc Drive the biggest thing in my mind you at least have the option to either trade games with buddies or resell your games if you ever need to and can recoup some of the money. A big thing that comes to mind is if you either have something life-changing and you need the money you can sell or say you just grow out of playing video games due to other things taking priority" you can recoup some of that expense. I will say that new gamers should probably not go straight to PC gaming only because as I mentioned above there is no real way to recoup money except by selling the PC its self. I think PC gaming is meant for people who either plan for many years or plan on using it leaving and then coming back in future years. But that's just my opinion
Unless absolutely want to play games made in the last decade, mini PC's are becoming a great deal. For the price of a modern console, can play a near endless amount of PC and console games. May require some tinkering, but there plenty of tutorials to create a small and affordable gaming machine.

I love the music at the end of the video.
I can’t believe you put the depression box in S-Tier
And no I’m not saying that because of the graphics
Austin Tech Tips 💯
Steamdeck is s tier you can fight me on that
A tier its running Linux
@@Spiritwonder420it’s more polished then windows
yea Steam Deck S tier
If s tier means shit I fully agree
@@Thelegendhimself91 I think he’s just trying to make himself hate the Steamdeck because he wasted him money on another handheld and regrets it lol
"I Play Racing Games" There is a statement close to my heart. The OG Xbox was the best racing games machine. Not for quantity but for quality and IP variety. Midtown Madness 3, GTAs, Project Gotham, Forza, NFS, SRS, Burnout, Midnight Club, Collin Mcre and so many more
why not android phones ?
Bruh.
Apple is way better for gaming
Android not run windows and pc games
9:13 „its not that its the worst, except that it is“
Xbox series S? 🎉
Yep
We finally got a somewhat "Hey Guys, this is Austin". I'm happy. haha
we just ripping off linus now? 👀
Considering the time it takes to produce a video, this was likely being created before Linus put his video out.
@@MyUsualComment ik lol
@@MyUsualComment probbably but linus probbably made his first not that it matters
You really don’t know what it takes to make videos and uploads them on YT do you
"Switch Lite can play the same games as the regular Switch"
Lie detector test results determined that is a lie.
As far as the series S being the best deal in gaming you are spot on. A couple of the other options you were a lil too generous with according to value.
The storage isn’t great. Games require lots of storage now in days. If you want to expand it’s going to cost more. At that point you might well get a Series X
Steam deck Dual boot = Swiss knife of gaming and more. I love this thing!!
You can buy a used Series X for $300-350.
THAT is the best option for gaming in 2024. No other option will give you 1440p 120fps natively for that price.
“Double the pleasure double the fun! Linus and Austin Evan’s are like double mint gum!”😅
The steam deck is C Class. I really want one to replace my ps4 but if you make a gaming system so capable but it still can't play what most people play because of anticheat software it's not an A. All I want is to play COD on my bed. And I want the best hardware. Steam deck is the best but if I can't play what all my friends play and I'm sure there's other games I can't play on there it's hard to make that commitment
Competitive games are more intended to PC or Console whatever Your excuse is, because it needs highest performance it could for the peak fps and response time. Steam deck intended for single player games where You play at your own pace. Not to mention in handheld You sacrifice performance for battery longevity, what? You can just plug the charger when playing? Then why You dont buy console or PC as You lose the portability
@@juotaPortability means the ability to easily moved or carried. Meaning it can easily be put in any bag because it is small and light which a console and a PC cannot do. Can you bring it overseas, in hotel, in cruiseship, or if your on a long vacation? The fact that the deck cannot play all games makes it below the ally if you ask me.
@@nathanjuan6042 Imagine being on a long vacation or cruiseship but dont want to enjoy the vacation, instead wanted to play games. What a waste of vacation money.
What? "I want to enjoy play my games while I'm on vacation". Bro Staycation exist
@@juota Why can't I go back to my room after strolling? Do I have to stay outside for 24 hours? Also seaman, overseas workers, international students, flight attendants, and pilots do exist, in case you didn't know. And what about people who lack enough space in their homes for a desktop PC, or those living in dorms or small apartments, or those who want to have vacations with family overseas? The fact that you need a desktop to play all your games because the Deck lacks power or runs on Linux is already a significant drawback. In contrast, the ROG Ally doesn't require a desktop because it can handle all games and in 1080p. Why settle for less when you have a better alternative?
@@nathanjuan6042 Bro, You missed the part where OP comment wants to play COD which is competitive games
Also those job You mentions needs high focus so it's unlikely they play competitive games. Not to mention if You have those jobs You might not have time to skill-grinding in-game, they're more likely to play casual or AAA games, let alone knowing games to play. I mean what's the percentage of those people with those jobs is avid Competitive Gamers. Next is if You dont have space for PC, instead of wasting money for building first, You can work harder to afford a bigger apartement so You have space. It's called priority. Enjoy ROG Ally while MiniPC Exist
connects the chrome with cable directly. you can also buy a dongle for wired connection. it make a big difference
Did he really put a xbox over a pc and ps5. Austin be sniffing too much fumes
It is for the convenience of having cheap next gen experience
He's got Microsoft money that's why
xbox is way cheaper than ps5 and pc
I totally agree on the series s being S tier, it's such a good deal considering it drastically lowers the entry point cost for playing modern games , if I didn't have a 4k tv would have happily gotten the series S instead of an X
Series S is actually a great deal. People are upset that the cheapest console is the better deal, a lot of people don’t buy physical games anymore (just look at pc users). Game pass is a deal too
GT7 being the "killer app" is the most Austin thing lmao. It's definitely Spider-Man 2 for now, and it will be GTA VI next
one hour gang
👇
The value is there for sure on the series S. But I’m a sucker for disc and physical. That’s why I’ll only get it if it is on sale or something. Physical is the way IMO.
XBOX team ->
They hate on us for that and they hate on me just like I my type of console
Day one ps5 disc and day one series x here with an oled switch also but that's irrelevant
The Xbox is so mid
Here sir
So weird how Linus just made a console tier list yesterday. Damn tech hivemind
15:10 And that's an average console life cycle. Except you can still play next gen stuff, just lower settings. And it's also a PC. I can do my job abd run my home theater from it as well
Ps>xbox
Sometimes, the planets align, and two different tech channels release the same day a console rank fight; now it's our time to decide who we agree with.
Putting the PS5 In A tier and not S tier!! lost complete respect for this channel it is Miles Beyond any gaming console out right now the remote control alone is way above and beyond any other controller on the market for consoles you guys are falling off HARD 😂😂
It's okay if linus did it too.
It's not about who did it as well. It's about personal positions and ideas along with considerations by each party.
There may be something you like about the original xbox, and something else linus likes or doesn't happen to mention about it that brings more entertainment or interest to the audience and from the audience.
Austin looks like a diehard Xbox fan
I'm watching this on my Moto G power 2022 and It's 2024 and my beloved smartphone is still running like it just came out in 2022.
you and linus clearly release videos along side each other.
IPhone and Gaming ?
Feels unholy to have them in one sentence 😂
At least you owned up to what you did
Well done Austin 👏 👏 👏
SHENANNIGANS ON YOUR XBOX
this video is the "WE HAVE LINUS @ HOME"
I have been watching alot of your shorts I'm new to gaming and bought a series s but this video made me subscribe 😅
Linus: *knock knock* Austin, you've been served. See you in court!
N tier meaning not good had me laughing like a little kid, I love this video
I have a ps5. I was away for 2 weeks and they had an xbox series x in the hotel room. After two weeks i can confirm that i couldn't wait to get back to my ps5. So much better. I would never put the xbox in s teir.
9:17 min.: ...................................AHH..........THATS........THATS YOUR DEAL TO GET OVER , AUSTIN .......... HIS NAME IS AUSTIN!!!!
.........................................HAVE YOU TRIED BEER LITE AND FIRES IN A CONTROLLED AREA?
What happened to the Series X?
It's on top i guess along with XBOX Series S
Austins pokemon hawaiian shirts are great lmao 🤣
I love Ken’s just abrupt and formal comment. “I think the only downside for me for pc is league of legends”
The switch lite is soooo underrated. Yes it has its flaws but come on now, it’s still awesome
Meh. The extra $150 for OLED is so worth it, though. Larger screen, better contrast. Plus you can dock it if you want. If you’re only looking at playing portable and can’t/don’t want to spend that extra then sure..
@@tmclaughlin11 the $150 more is worth it, I’m just saying that the switch lite is underrated cause it is still a great console
Is this like a Parody of the South Park Episode "Simpsons Did It", in that case "Linus Did It"
