I just can't get enough of Maria's voice. Her voice has touched me on a deep level since the very first time I saw her perform with Lone Justice. She's timeless and so talented. Thank you Maria. Keep on singing.
I would hate to live in a world where I couldn't hear Maria McKee sing a 3/4-time ballad once in a while. I truly think I would enjoy hearing her sing an old phone book..
I had the great pleasure of seeing her in smaller venues, both with Lone Justice and solo. Her voice has nourished my soul for over 30 years. Thank you so much, lovely lady.
Man, those were great days. In '92 the Jayhawks did Hollywood Town Hall with George Drakoulias producing and then in '93 she did You Gotta Sin to get Saved with Drakoulias. Mike and Gary played on the album and wrote this for it. They were all on the Sweet Relief benefit album for Victoria Williams in '93. Just so much great stuff with all of them during that time. It's a shame they all didn't see more fame. Amazing talents.
25 years later and this song still does it for me on EVERY Level !!! I've worn out my original copy of - You Gotta Sin to be Saved. An Album that should be in everybody's collection.
I have no words to describe this touching moment, this appeared some years ago in Later with Jools Holland in BBC and it was, for sure, one of the precious moments of the show.
I comment a lot on maria because there is something more than just singing in her voice I don't know what it is but for me it makes her stand out above the rest.
Breathtaking! What a shame--that at her peak, the industry wasn't as open to uniqueness like hers, not much "indie" to speak of. The world should know what a gift she has.
don't use the word Love loosely but, I have truly been up and down in life and this woman's music has carried me through them. special voice, great lyrics, what's not to love. thank you maria
Amazing! My favorite song off of what, 22 years later, I still consider a top 10 all time album. Without question it is a "Desert Island Disc". How did i not know this existed Many, many thanks to whoever posted it
That was beautifuk, thank you.I've just finished listening to The Lone justice cd, the one with "pass it on" "you are the light" etc on it. I searched on Yt for more stuff, and came across Maria singing Troubled Waters. I can't think of any other singer who could change their voice so dramatically. If I heard it on the radio, and was told that was Maria McKee, I wouldn;t believe. But I do prefer her singing here.
I've always loved this song (and the entire 'you gotta sin to get saved' album). The Jayhawks are all over the album, and Marc Olson and Gary Louris, in the video, co-wrote it.
This wasn't wasting time to post this! Maybe people will understand what she meant to a bunch of people from way back when. She should have been given a chance to become the artist she is. Totally unreal to think what Lone Justice would have become if they had grown into their roles. Look at this and see Maria getting better and better! When she is behind a mike there isn't such thing as time wasted!
Thanks for this one! Maria is breathtaking as always:) Met her once after a show and she is really nice. took her time to sit on a park bench hanging around with us fans for like an hour although they were on their way to Germany in their bus. Cred!!
I love Maria, I’ve seen her a dozen times. Our birthdays (in 1964) are two days apart. Speaking of the Jayhawks can I just insert a link for a band of fellow Scots big Maria fans lead singer Monica sounds a wee bit like Maria and who also have a connection with the Jayhawks… ua-cam.com/video/aUIyPL0MtGM/v-deo.html
Beautiful Irish girl???? Last time I checked she was born in Los Angeles CA and not in Ireland. Don't be stealin our national treasure. There may be better technical singers, but I have never heard anyone touch the soulfulness of Maria McKee.
Leaves me dumbstruck and in tears. Best female voice. Of all time....
I just can't get enough of Maria's voice. Her voice has touched me on a deep level since the very first time I saw her perform with Lone Justice. She's timeless and so talented. Thank you Maria. Keep on singing.
You are definitely not alone on this perception of Maria's voice...

I have believed for sometime that Maria
has one of the greatest female voices I
have ever heard!
The greatest

McKee and theJayhawks what a beautiful combination.
Beautiful Irish girl wailing in front of a lovely country-rock group, it's musical heaven indeed.
She's from California.
@@geraldbauler6565 I'm well aware of that - that's where I first heard her. I was referring to her name.
McKee would be Scottish not Irish
@@birsay123 In some cases, maybe, but Maria McKee is Irish-American, I believe, born in Los Angeles.
One of my favourite singers and one of my favourite groups. Lovely stuff.
Awesome. I'm a longtime Jayhawks and McKee fan

I think it’s her songwriting. The songs are HERS, all her and she gives them everything.
Never saw this until today. Love Maria, and I'm glad to have it. UA-cam rocks.

Outstanding! Thank God for You Tube.
what a discovery I made with this lady & song - and how I my mouth harp in D goes well with it, what a blending and bliss ;-) Holy Mary & Hawks !
Sweet want to hear it sometime

Sends shivers down my spine, everytime I hear this. Showcases Maria's dynamic vocal range and passion. Outside the window, see the people below...

She posed for photos with us when we saw her (twice) on the incredible LIS tour, a sweetheart
I'd love to see more of this combination.
am not a jealous - I simply envy these guys. Dedication + Emulation + Elation = Perfactionn
Great collaboration!
What a vice! I love it.
McKee and Olson is perfect.
The little diva is golden.

@MrDavidmmcdowell Better technical singers?? Sorry she is technically awesome!!
*What are the C H O R D S?*
Wow lone justice?

She isn't Irish but she did live there for many years so I think they kind of claim her too.
