Oh absolutely still remember watching this back years ago was completely blown away she attack the guitar at the end it's beautiful and can feel the passion. Glad you experienced it aswell stay real
I've never seen her live, but she is just an astonishing live performer based on the (many many) videos I've watched going back to that first Lone Justice tour. She's just a force of nature. I keep thinking at some point she's just going to catch fire on stage from the smoldering intensity. This is just a breathtaking performance.
stunning as ever, puts heart and soul into every song. i never tire of talking up Maria to all who will listen, it makes me feel that i am slowly converting the world to the joys of a stunning performer that i have enjoyed for over 25 years
Totally spine chilling performance; one of those few UA-cam shining diamonds in the dust. Amazing songwriter and performer - total integrity, and such a voice.
I remember seeing this years ago, and thinking someone should be shouting and screaming at the audience "Wake up you gawmless morons! Don't you recognise sheer genius when you hear it?" This is probably the best live version of Life Is Sweet available; what a finish!
Actually I think Dolly Parton hid recognize her tallent, but it would be a deap dive into interviews to find that story. I found her by going into Tower Records with the goal of buying something i never heard before. I bought this and 98degrees, and could not get thru 10 minutes of 98 degree, but i have been listening to Maria ever since
Hugely underrated talent. Highly rated by those who know and love her, but somehow, not so many do know her. Seems to be in early retirement now. Hope she comes back.
Saw Maria and hubby live in Manchester a few years ago. Maria called me her 'Magic Man.' One of the highlights of my existence. Great producer, great song writer, great lyricist, great guitarist, great voice. In my top ten performers of all time.
Remember seeing Maria at the Hollywood Athletic club many moons ago and bumping into old friends who originally introduced me to her music, just wanted to say Thank you, Maria blows me away every time. Time for a London visit..
That was like watching a jet build up it's engines! Wish they would have been ready to "take off" a little earlier - but then, if they started that jam earlier, there wouldn't be a roof on the place! Thanks for including it here!
I keep asking myself this question for almost 20 years. Maybe she's way ahead of our time. At least that's what I keep saying to myself when I'm talking about music to other people and they have absolutely no idea who Maria McKee is...
From a certain perspective, she is a big star. Would you cough up $65 to see her at your local high school? Can you put her name in the youtube on autoplay and it will play all day? Would you be upset if she was inducted into the Hall of Fame? She really checks all the boxes. Way to go, Maria!
22 years since this performance by Maria McKee, and it's still one of the best live tracks ever. And that awesome guitar outro -- gets me every time!
Eddie Lyons isn't it? F**king storming. I posted a couple of years ago saying beat this for a live performance, and i stand by that.

Perfect 😎🤩🥳
Unbelievable!!! How many incredible performances from Maria McKee in the 90's did I miss ?? Gaaaah. She's INCREDIBLE!!!
Saw her live a few times, including this album tour at Hammersmith Odeon and some place in Paris, two of the best concerts I have ever seen.

rolling in to the song Afterlife at the end is amazing
I cannot even explain how much I love this song and this entire album.
I feel the same.
Totally spine chilling performance; one of those few UA-cam shining diamonds in the dust. Amazing songwriter and performer - total integrity, and such a voice.
That ending is just mind blowing. There is nobody like her
Best ending on the whole of UA-cam.
This is just a fucking work of genius right here-way to go, Maria.

Eddie Lyons this is the best live performance on UA-cam ever. Imho...
Along with Gilmour's performance of Comfortably Numb at the Colombian Volcano Appeal in the 80s

She and her husband are making movies, and she does the soundtracks for those. They're working on the third one these days.
New album coming out 15.03.2020 🖤❤
Love Maria's voice and music, I've never seen this before, wonderful.!

My favourite McKee song from my favourite album. Fockin' brilliant!

She's one of the great artists. I'm in my 60's and I've been listening!
Another heart breaker from Maria McKee

Nooobody.
Stunning
I really like Maria’s Music. Her album Peddlin Dreams is great
Born in 1964 ...
Why is this woman not a megastar?
cuz the world is dumb! :)
She is. In every way that matters.
She never sold sex. I have been a fan since the 80s
She's the definition of a megastar.
I keep asking myself this question for almost 20 years. Maybe she's way ahead of our time. At least that's what I keep saying to myself when I'm talking about music to other people and they have absolutely no idea who Maria McKee is...

The song so nice Maria recorded it twice...
thanks for posting, she's amazing
Fucking wonderful.
Fab. I love that the audience cannot dance, but still try.
Un. Buh. Lievable.
Cool stuff :)
Wow, shoegazer face paint! Like the HT to The Clash at end.
#1
You can see the has been of over 10 years in her eyes...
Was Neil Young paying attention?
Johnny, I think that is an old Gibson Les Paul Jr., but I don't know the year.
Transcendent.
@EdwardRLyons Amen!
she is so fine!!!
!!! :D :D :D
Does anyone know where I can find the guitar tabs for this song? I've been looking everywhere.
Maria seemingly has crossed in to so many genres with her great catalog of songs. This performance seems a bit Emo to me.
what guitar is she using
Only six years too late...sorry I didn't see your post earlier...she's playing her Les Paul Junior
Hotel Babylon was mostly dreadful but they had some great live music.
What pisses me off... jimmy iovine was her producer... umm , yeah, Eminem, looked over
Ah yes, and I think her singing is quite alike here to Dolores O'Riordan's (Cranberries)
