  • This is the revised Porsche 911 GTS, the facelifted variant of the latest 911. The 992.2 if you're being exact.
The biggest news is that the GTS variant is Porsche’s first hybrid 911, badged T-Hybrid, and has received some serious performance enhancements over the earlier GTS.
Its engine is now a 3.6-litre unit, rather than a 3.0, but that’s only half the story. There is now an electric drive motor in the gearbox to take the total output to 534bhp and 450lb ft, while the turbocharger has an electric motor on it, too, to help it spool faster and reduce lag.
It can do 0-62mph in 3.0sec and has a top speed of 194mph. Its economy is 26.4mpg and CO2 output 244g/km.
Join Matt Prior as he tests the latest 911 on the circuit and on the road.

981 S/gts, get a fully loaded one. Its light, nimble, mid engined, sound amazing and has more than enough power for the streets and track. In fact, a slower car has become more fun 4-5 sec. This 911 may as well be a Taycan now.

@@MrNufzed it’s crazy, I’ve been looking to swap my car and a 991 Carrera T is still well over £70k it’s a 2018. There are McLaren 570GT’s going for the same money and that looks super car money. Madness how well Porkers hold their money for what they are really. I was looking at a 997.2 GTS about 5 years ago. It started life at £50k and in a few weeks was over £60k the same car. It was ancient at the time 🤣 there’s far more GT products for sale than normal Carreras too yet they hold their money like nothing else. Fair play to Porsches marketing department on that one like.

I think I’ll be more interested in a naturally aspirated flat 6 with that supplemental hybrid motor. Peak power at 6500 with redline at 7500 makes me think it won’t be as inspiring to rev out as some Porsches from the past. Will the GT3 be similarly hybridized in its next iteration?
