I am in the NE and alot of craft stores in my area have shelves of the stuff. Very cheap. Love these filters!!! TY.
Box filters are the best!
This is a cool box filter, heaps of space for bio media.
Yeah most definitely I don't know the age of these box filters but I imagine they're definitely old school thanks for checking out the video
My dog chews up my daughters stuffed animals and I started using the stuffing. It works well. It works better than the filter floss imo
LOL yes definitely multi use out of one product....
For sure!
Jemco for all your needs buddy. You are welcome :)
Thinking about adding these for extra bio media. Since I am using sponge filters.
I’m definitely into box filters. I can’t rationalize running air into my tanks without maximizing the energy usage by running box filters.. I have a couple of bigger tanks with peacock/Haps so I don’t rely on the box filters alone but it’s just a nice little addition to the large Fluval FX series canisters that I currently use. Cool video. It confirms my opinion about the stuffed animal stuffing .
Yes I love my box filters I ran into many problems with canister filters so it just was the cheaper route on the electricity bill. And with less maintenance and upkeep on a canister filter for me this was just the better alternative. 5 minutes to do maintenance on a box filter versus half an hour if everything🤔 went well on a canister filter. Thanks for commenting and I'm glad you stopped by to check out the video
Subbed 👍 Never tried that polyfill. Thanks for the tip. Will place an order for some since I’m almost out.
Yes this stuff is amazing and it is a huge box thanks for subbing to the channel I will do the same👍🤜
Great video, can’t wait to get my fish, gonna have to invest in some of those filters
Thanks for your support brother yes definitely invest in these filters cheap and extremely cheap to operate
BairCichlids yes,I am definitely convinced
i have a bunch of these filters that were made in the 80's that look identical to these round green ones you have now, i thought the manufacturer had gone out of business but i suppose it's possible sombody bought the molds and is making them again. the ones i have are marked on the basket/tube assembly as Lustar L-244, made in usa. are the new ones marked in any way?
That is too cool!
Unfortunately the new one's are not marked. Thanks for checking out the video 👍
Forsure man I will

Can't find these on Walmart website
Lol. No you definitely can't but you can find the teddy bear stuffing on it. 🙂👍
I’m going to have to order some
Yeah buddy and don't forget to stop by and get some fish
How do you keep the tops on these things lol. I cant seem to keep them on.
They should just push down and stay down what type of media do you have inside your box filter. Maybe try more filter floss
@@baircichlids5350 I'm using eheim substrate balls and pillow floss. The floss is floating lol. I might try some sponge floss. First time user.
I think I'm using to much floss.
@@kimberlymoore8860 a handful of filter floss is plenty lololol
@@baircichlids5350 thanks. I fixed. I'm getting rid of all my ati pro sponge filters. They dont work like these box filters.

Thanks for the video! A company called jehmco.com also sells those filters & lots of other goodies for fishrooms and such.
Thanks. The last unboxing video was from jehmco. It's great place to order fish supplies
That's where I got mine. Teying to figure out how to keep the tops down. Ugh
@@kimberlymoore8860 try putting a little filter floss where the lid goes down for a tighter fit
@@baircichlids5350 is that where you got yours? Trying to get some super cheap...
@@woodworkerroyer8497 Yes this is where I get them. This is the cheapest I have found. The more you can get the better the deal
Where to get this box filter ?
Jehmco.com I hope you enjoyed the video and please SUBSCRIBE 👍
He's using too much air but yeah, box filters are great.
I'm confused shouldn't it be more airmore filtration?
@@baircichlids5350 Just a little less air and you'd get more water flow. If you pushed massive amounts of air through it no water at all would flow through it, right? If you want more flow and you should, (see how turbulent the water is near the weak inlets?) add a 6" clear piece of tubing to the air outlet to add lift and take the turbulence farther away from the inlets. Watch the floss dirty up much faster
And activated carbon is now deemed detrimental to aquariums unless you're trying to remove chemicals or medicines. Hinders plant growth.etc. So good at what it does that it also takes out stuff you don't want taken out of the water
@@scottmerrow1488 Thanks My friend I greatly appreciate that. Do you know where to get the tubing
Let’s do 11:00
Still planning on stopping over
