I'm so glad that you said "for all intents and purposes" instead of "for all intensive purposes". You have no idea how many people say that incorrectly!!! LOL!!!
Oh believe me I know lol. It's kind of like "irregardless"
Great Video Thanks for sharing DIY

✌️❤️
Thanks so much Codyson 😊
Upcycling, at its finest! Great video! 😁
Thank you Zen!
Great idea for using the plastic containers. I’ve been looking for ideas to make a filter box for my shallow pond pump (no fish) and I’ll be using a larger bird food container and polyfill from my sewing stash.
Very nice project, I particularly love the idea of making a gasket out of the black airline tubing. I liked it so much, in fact, that I went straight to the garage and adapted it to a gasket/fitment issue I was having on my old VW Bus :) Tank on!
That's awesome! I'm here to help, so anytime I hear that something was useful it makes my day! Thanks for watching!
@@FishRoomFever It's rare that my aquarium hobby and my classic VW hobby can intertwine LOL
Seems like a classic VW bus would make the perfect mobile aquarium.
Great idea, I going to make one. 🐟🌿👍😊
Thank you! Let me know how it turns out!
Galing naman sulit na sulit ang diy mo kapatid
Salamat. Masaya ako na nagustuhan mo.
Great little box filter....we are working with a tiny little sponge filter that we are putting inside of a castle for a new scape we are designing....should be fun....we’ll see if it works as good as yours😀😀👍👍
Thanks Dan! I look forward to seeing that video!
Missed the premiere but watching great idea looks good 👍
Thanks Larry. No worries. I appreciate you watching!
you are very creative James, good video
Thank you Jess!
Aww, man. I had notifications on, but it never showed up. Watching the replay now.
LOL half way through the video when the notification showed up, thanks UA-cam!
Sorry about that. I appreciate you catching the replay!
I like it. Simple and effective. Your solution to seal the gap around the uplift tube was brilliant. My biggest complaint, much like the sponge filters, is that box filters are just so dadgum ugly. I wish Fluval, Marineland or... anyone... would design a fake rock or some kind of ornament to wrap around them so we could incorporate them into the scaping.
My friend, I think you've just given me an awesome idea for a diy project video!
I'm thinking that gets us all thinking up ideas on just how to decorate that empty food container :)
You can use a terracotta pot instead of the plastic container. It looks a lot better.
Great input. You definitely could and it would look better for sure. I like being able to see inside box filters but would definitely go a Terra cotta route for a more discreet filter.
I was sleeping when it was live watching the rerun, you gonna have to change your name to king of diy 🤫😝
Lol. Thanks fishiemon. Joey might stop talking to me if I did. Lol
This video is super educational!!!! Is it ok if I use Temptations boxes?
Tha ks Ed! I think that it would be ok, safe plastic, given that it holds a pet food product. One issue you may have is that if the plastic is thicker it will try to float more and need extra weight in it.
James what kind of pump are you using with the DIY?
I run the co op linear piston pump since I have so many tanks but I've also run this on everything from the nano usb pump up. No real specific requirements.
Hiw it works with making holes in pvc pipe, could yiu help me to understand please?
NNice
Thanks Peter!
New subscriber, bro would this work on a barrel pond?
How many gallons is the pond?
@@FishRoomFever 55:)
Depending on the load, yes. I personally would run 1 of the box filters and one sponge. The sponge will help pull some of the larger particulates out and help prevent the polyfill from clogging as quickly. You could also make 2 of the DIY filters and cut a sponge insert to replace the polyfill in 1 of them.
