👆 What's the difference between a Hollow Body Guitar and a Semi-Hollow Guitar!
Pete pretending we didn't all see him use a pick on the semi-hollow, and not on the full hollow...😅
Yeah they do that to generate a difference between them. They are both electric instruments. Only legit audio difference between them is caused by the pickup, everything else is trivial.
Yeah - he's a pleasant sly 😉
Yeah he seems to do that on every comparison video. Maybe he's doing that on purpose to generate more comment?
I would have preferred you either use a pick on both of them or play them both finger style.
The 335 is a ‘do it all’ design with a metal tune-o-matic. The hollow body has a jazz worthy wooden bridge.
Both sound great but the hollow body do so sound amazing
But its limited tl do only that.
Sound the same to me
@@meeeeeej8
When you are on stage with high volyme you can control a semi hallow like the 335 in a way thats not possible due to resonance to an real aucustic thats getting miked.
@user-pk4kb8bx9g oh OK I'm quite new to guitar only played for 3 - 4 months
The biggest differences are feedback level and resonance. The sound itself is very similar.
not simular at all
If you really want to test the biggest difference between the two, then play them with a bit of gain.
that Broadway just sings 😍😍
I would love a jazzy hollow body even though I’m not that good at jazz
Doesn't matter...the tone is so sweet it will sound great whatever you're playing on it.
Plectrum vs. fingers. Round-wounds vs. probably semi-flats. Various settings. Come on, man, you're better than this.
One goes ‘OOOOOOHHH’ at high volumes, the other goes ‘OOOHHHWEEEOOOHHHWEEEOOOH’.
This is the most accurate thing I've read in a long time xD
Not gonna lie, but I think that hollow body deserves some flat wound strings. I think it would make it sound a lot warmer.
Great stream, I would love the pedal!
All I know is that I want one of each...and well, one of almost everything .
Turn off the reverb, im sure that this amountt doesnt come from the guitars!!
One has a semi and the other doesn't.
Wow, what a great Riff! Is this a Song? Is there something similar with Tabs to practice? Thanks and have a nice weekend!!!
How awesome would it be if we got an Epiphone Byrdland? Would you buy one? And not a $1,500 MIC one, but like a nornal non-gouging price like $699 - $899, maybe a little more if they go with something better than that cheap grade sandpaper of a fretboard wood they call Pau Ferro, or the anemic bizarre looking Laurel. Just a nice piece of regular rosewood.
Please tell us more about Victory Amplification...
This dudes comparisons totally suck. Either playing without a pick or playing softer to make a bigger sound difference. He's the Bethesda of guitars.
The semi hollow handles gain better than the hollow body but if you play at lower levels...the hollowbody has the depth and round tone advantage
I couldn’t hear a difference on my iPhone, but thanks for sharing this video
CAN YOU PLAY THE INSTRUMENT WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT STANDING UP
So you play one with a pick and one without a pick and with the pick you strum up-and-down on the up beat versus Plucking up with the other
One is for popular music the other is for Jazz
No difference in the guitar. The difference is him using a pick on one and not the other. Pretty slick move
True dat 💯
Never miond the doifference, that was nice playing to listen to
The difference is that the hollow one feels like you're holding a suitcase.
Will you try and convince Ibanez to make a 14 string version of their semi hollo 7 string?
So what's the difference?
Well you showed how they sound clean but the biggest difference is when you try to add a little gain. Am I right?
The volume of the amp .
I actually liked the Semi-holo sound better
so what is it?
One is red, and the other is black and orange.
Love epiphone and always over a Gibson
The 335 is Always superior on stage with high db.
With an semihollow you can controll the feedback in a good way. Thats extremely hard with an hollow guitar.
Fun fact: a 335 with low action can be the ultimate hardcore guitar that shreds out the hardest riffs you can imagine.
It can be an death rock n roller.
A 2x4 up the middle
Hollow body sounds full and richer.

The difference is the pickups
Difference: One is hollow. One is kinda hollow.
One of them sounds more hollow
I prefer fully hollow
Playing them dirty with a pick would be helpful
Lots more string noise on the hollow
One is semi hollow and the other is hollow
Evidently no difference at all. None! So let's stop pretending in the comments section. A clear case of the Emperor's new clothes syndrome. 😂
Different bridge, different pu's, different tone
You left out the squeals
So, what’s the friggin difference?
Do yous really need to do shorts?
The difference is that Pete is a boss no matter what
335 has a more dry sound.good also for hard bluesy distorted sounds, hollobody sound is warmer, so nice for jazz ,smooth ,not for blues and rock.whats the difference between a gibson and an epiphone? who knows. ciao from italy
All that matters is feel. You can change sound with an EQ pedal no problem.
What does it matter they are not Teles
Ive a 1947 epiphone, blackstone model with a de armond pickup. Arch front and back.make offer.
Though my phone speaker - none
You need to learn how to stop the squealing when changing fret positions.
Pete is just a sensational player
No-one likes a semi 😉🤣
Apparently...nothing
So . Nothing!
The biggest difference is color.
