👆 What do you prefer?
Tele at the bridge, Strat in all the rest pickup positions.
Strat pos 4 is just 🤌
Tele but having both is a good compromise.
I like the way you think.
🤤
Very deep pockets to own two custom shops. I prefer my two player series… that way it’s a much easier conversation with local ‘management’.
as far as i'm concerned, nashville teles are the best of both worlds. that middle pickup on the strat is so underrated, and it complements a tele bridge pup like they were made for each other.
@@alanthew6490You Mean W-I-F-E !
The Strat sounded great......... until you started playing the Tele! 🤯
Props to the video team, the guitar names tracked to the instrument is a cool touch, and makes me pay attention to how much Pete wiggles the neck while he plays 😎
Don't we all?
That neck pickup on the Tele is TONE HEAVEN!!
If I was stranded on a desert Island and I could only have one electric guitar it would be a telecaster. It is an absolute work horse and I love my tele. I will never get rid of it and it is surprisingly versatile. That being said, I also love my strat, but it's more situational. With a lot of the stuff I play it could go either way, but I usually prefer my strat for more slacker rock type stuff.
Overdriven Tele bridge is the purest electric guitar sound to me. Rock and roll in one combo.
Growing up I favoured Strat, as an adult the Tele is just magnificent. The functional no nonsense look is gorgeous, I prefer simplicity and tuning stability to any trem, and roll off the volume and you're into Strat territory anyway.
Teles are just a bit more muscular tonally, and even though humbuckers are an extra level in terms of mids and general output so many great Tele tones over the years have been mistaken for Les Pauls or humbuckers generally. Stairway to Heaven solo, Telecaster. Killing in the Name, Telecaster (in fact basically all Rage Against the Machine drop D tracks are Tele).
Sign me up for Team Tele. Strat Fam has my respect though.
I bought a Player Plus Tele very recently and absolutely love it. Fantastic guitar. I have a Strat as well, though with a 10-way switch.
Strat: neck pickup
Tele: bridge pickup
Freeway switch for the win then?
@@Bob-WhitingOh definitely. Do you have one as well? I'm going to get the Freeway 6 way switch for my Tele, too. There are differnt ways to wire up the Freeway, and the way mine is, in 6th position it's the bridge/middle series, the 8th position is the neck and bridge in series, and the 10th is the neck/middle in series.
Personally, I think the 6th and 10th positions sound better than a coil split humbucker in the neck and/or bridge.
Great range of tones (on the series positions there are actually 2 different tones you can get when you roll the middle pickup's tone pot all the way down.
I couldn't recommend them enough for an SSS strat.
I'd take a Tele almost any day of the week
Love both, but I think I prefer Strat for versatility and having a tremolo system. Soundwise both sound fenderish and frankly, they sound similar still. Strat has a bit more color, tele is a bit brighter and twangy.
The telecaster is simple, solid, reliable, the bridge pickup is comfortable in all styles even hard rock. The strat has a nice body but I prefer the headstock of telecasters.
Good thinking? I have American deluxe tobacco sunburst I put telecaster maple neck
Buy both is the correct answer.
Tele, no contest for me.
Out of my first 7 guitars I had, 6 of them were Stratocasters. Mainly because of its shape. But times have changed and so have I and now half of all my electric guitars are Telecasters and I only kept two Strats.
If I was given the opportunity to choose between the best Telecaster I can think of and the best Stratocaster I can think of, it will absolutely be a Telecaster again. ❤
I own 11 Teles and 1 Strat, so yeah, Teles for me! 😉
bro is a guitar shop
Guitar store employee: Which tele you want?
You: yes
@@bababoey. Haha, just about. 😉
Please tell me about your collection I'm so curious. Different pickup configurations, some semi hollows and stuff thrown in, maybe an Esquire, or are we talking 11 classic Telecasters lol?
I’ve got a couple of Tele Pluses with 3 Lace Sensor pickups, a couple with a HB in the neck and SC in the bridge, then a few with 2 SC pickups, one with Gold Foil pickups, one with Jazzmaster pickups…some are similar, but I like variety too. 😊 2 semi hollows, some with binding and double binding, maple necks, rosewood necks and an ebony one.
Couldn't make up my mind, so I have both! They're just not made in Corona California. Merry Christmas Pete, to you and yours!
Strat..it was the improvement of the tele. Fender for life.
I LOVE Strats! Wonderful feeling
Either... if there's a humbucker in the bridge lol
The color on that tele is amazing 🙌🏽
Tele by a lot
I’ve had a strat for years, and just got my first tele about two months ago. I can’t put it down!! so so yeah. Both. 😂
Strat all day every day. I’ve tried 3 telecasters and sold all of them. Just never clicked with me. Whereas both Strats I’ve ever owned are still in my possession. There’s a reason the Strat is the most iconic electric guitar of all time.
Okay, and WHY do you prefer Strat? If you write NOTHING about what you think or feel, I really wonder if you think or feel at all. Grrrrrr! Write more! Anything!
Sonically I prefer the Tele but for comfort and the sheer beauty of that sculptured body I love the Strat.
I think one day I'll get a tele...but every time I always find myself gravitating to the strat
If I am the only guitar for the night, Tele with a Humbucker at the neck. If it is with another guitar that is a Les Paul or 335 type then I use the Strat to differentiate the sound. Recording.. Strat with 2 Humbuckers. Use what fits the gig.
Get a few of each so as to make sure you can form an informed opinion.
Telecaster!
...but you need both...
Yes, and a Les Paul
@@justnik8727absolutely and a good semi hollow es 335
@@justnik8727And an SG.
Indeed!@@markcheetah4960
I have both and I slightly prefer the strat, only because of the type of music I typically play. The tele is awesome!!
That tele sounded amazing on that neck pickup
100% Strat for me.
Tele but...I need both
For the bridge pickup, I prefer Tele slightly. For the neck pickup, it’s no contest… the Strat wins by a mile. The neck pickup in the Tele has never been my favorite. I only buy Tele’s with a P90 in the neck position.
Telecaster❤
Telecaster Deluxe > Stratocaster > Telecaster, but all of them plus a Jazzmaster is the correct response. Then probably a Mustang with P-90s to cover all the tonal possibilities.
There is no "better." It's all about having the right tool for the right job.
I prefer both of course. I like the bridge pickup on tele just slightly better though.
the setup seems to be geared to the tele, the strat sounding way too high pitched which isn’t what strays sound like all the time lmao
Tele in neck position😂 the best sound!! Or strat in neck position is the best position😂
I just fell in love with a tele.. That thing sounds awesome to my ear. 😮
That tele sounds unbelievable
Strat and tele both sound 👌 i can't choose one over the other
Just recently got into tele and I can't believe just what I've been missing. 🤯
When I play a tele I always reach for the whammy bar... I'm strat inside 😂
The Gretsch on the wall!
I love the way a strat sounds and feels, but I always hit the dang volume knob when I play! I think you have to have both honestly!
Same here!!!! That's why it's tele for me otherwise I love both
Well both in your hands sound great!
Neither unless you stick a humbucker in it. Strats are super comfortable. Tele needs a belly cut, but not all models have one.
Both sound great to me...just a different vibe. Nice thing about someone as skillful as Pete playing is that it's a level playing field.
Tele rules.⚡⚡⚡
Breaking new ground with concepts for videos ...
My first guitar was a strat style. Fast forward 25 years..im definitely a humbucker guy but every time I play a strat it just feels right.
Prefer? Love them both.
Tele neckpickups always get shit on but I think they sound damn good.
Yes, of course! I have a strat but I need a Telecaster
Strat, but my first electric guitar was a Les Paul copy, so, I keep at least one single cut.
Strat because all my guitar heroes are strat players.
The answer is both, the tele is SUCHH a versatile guitar though, and is the only answer if you can only choose one
I think Eddie got it right..Strat, but cram a Gibson humbucker in the bridge
Pete always sounds great no matter what he plays
I'm a starburst/rosewood strat man, unless it's Danish Pete, then it's gotta be the purple tele!
Tele but still love the strat no matter what
Tele all day everyday
I'll be honest, both. I love the ergonomics and tone of the Strat. I like the nice sound from the Tele but I dislike the plank 'o wood ergonomics.
If I hadda pick one it'd be the Strat, altho the Tele is a close third, especially if I'm playing either of my two Squier Contemporary Telecaster HH (one converted to a SSS).
My second favorite type? The Les Paul. Sorry, Fender/Squier. 😅
Great sound, cool custom colors, both are great legacies of the guitar world !
Love them both, have them both, but slightly prefer a strat
It has to be the Tele for me. Strats are great too but the Tele is like the cooler older brother.
tele all day every day
I love mine both, depends on the mood I'm in and the decibels I can produce.
Telecaster 🤙
I’ve got two telecaster’s and I tried a strat and returned it.
I’ll never try another but I’d definitely purchase another tele if the urge strikes me!!!!
Strat for the body and feel, Tele for the sound and controls --> Strat that sounds like a tele!
Yeah I’d love a belly cut on my tele. My Strat is great for playing while lounging on the sofa, super comfy.
I have both and play them almost equally but if i had to pick one it would be my Baja Tele.
I like the sound of both, but I’ve only ever played a strat not a tele
Can't decide, that's why I have one of each.
I love them both, but if could only have one it would be a Tele
Never been a strat fan. Playing wise.
Teles feel great but I prefer the sound of a jazzmaster or an sg. Now I'm personally working towards getting a beefy humbucker and a humbucker style p90 in my tele. Along with a bigsby because why not
Strat every day. It's way more physically comfortable to hold and play.
I've said this before on Anderton's channel but if guitars were people then a Strat would be an architect, polar neck jumper, probably drive a Saab and enjoy conversations about the correct temperature for a pour over coffee.
A tele would be a pissed up American, huge Nascar fan, be drunk at 08:00 am sharp everyday and have permanent hamburger juice on his T-Shirt - and we'd love him for it!
If a tele looked like a strat it'd be cool.
the strat is your frist love but the tele is the one you married 😎
Tele, just because on strat middle pickup bothers me while playing and tele has a fixed bridge, so all the tone control relies on the player's technique. I can only say I prefer the appearance of a Stratocaster more, if I need to choose one that would be tele.
We prefer you, Pete.
I want the exact middle, a mix of both. What do I do
There both good but I'm at home with a Tele. Teles is a great get down workhouse and I like that.
Strat on your left, tele on your right.
Tele for me, mostly because I almost never use neck pickup. If I was primarily a neck pickup person, I would surely be a Strat guy.
I prefer the one Pete’s playing😊🤘🏼
I'm a Strat guy but I know that if I ever get a Tele I won't be using the Strat anymore lmao
I prefer them both over the les Paul Gibson, just me! Had a 1976 standard and really, really liked my strat American and tele American absolutely over my Paul . It was a beautiful transparent cherry it just felt like it was too chuggy
I own a tele, but I’d like a Strat. But tele is great as well
Can’t decide, but I seem to grab my strats mire than my teles.
Tele is always the best.
Tele sounds nicer. But in the hands of someone skilled, almost anything can sound good. Unlike me, I would make a Tele sound like rubber bands over a bucket.
The Tele is more gnarly the Strat is a better all rounder!🤓🎸
Tele all the way, but a Stat is great for the 2 an’ 4
The tele sounds fuller b/c it’s yours. Tele for Keef. Strat for Jimi.
From those two? That tele is a BEAST
Tele forever
Tele...never saw the need of a floating trem system
