Thank you so much for this video! My granny square baby blanket was so curvy it was ruining the look of the whole blanket. So I carefully took out the curvy border and am replacing it with the new border and it’s turning out great! Thanks again!
I have been crocheting for eons never saw this fix it before. So happy for the tip as I am actually starting a border for my granny square blanket. Perfect !!!
im not sure why, but it was so hard for me to find a border tutorial specifically for these motif granny square projects, specifically ones made with DC. thanks for this really simple tutorial!
That very neatly done Robin, thanks. Have you done one with joining the granny square before?? Also have you done granny square gloves? I would love to have a tutorial on those of you don't mind please please 💐
Hi I’m following your instructions now and it’s coming out beautifully. Once I complete it can I make another row over everything? Im trying to add more height to my blanket with a larger border
Where have you been I'm a learner got 6 balls d k too thin then got another 6 chunky just going to give it all to charity shop then I done your stitches with chunky think called Elizabeth and now the one with little balls so thank you
Thanks so much for this. Probably saved my blanket. Quick question, though. What happens if I want to do one more row of double crochet? Do I just double crochet into each space now? Or do I do the same method (double crochet together) at the join spaces again? Thanks to anyone who knows.
Hi! Im working on joining my squares for a sweater and I find the corners look ugly the way I’m doing it. Im joining from the back and it looks pretty except from those corners, very messy looking. I figured out with your video the corners going horizontaly, but what about when going vertical to unite them? What about joining from the other side that needs to be joined. Hope you can help me ❤ love your videos!!
Hello! Love to follow along. Quick question since I am a novice, could you just continue the double crochet in those spaces where you join 2 DC? If not, why would it not work? Thank you soooo much! ❤
Thanks a ton for this easy solution to ruffled edges! Could you suggest an easy border, say around an inch wide, for my solid granny square blanket? TIA❤️
I used the tight continuous join as you go methods for the individual squares! 😀 it gives a very similar corded effect to crab stitch ua-cam.com/video/GfhzYIWDxY0/v-deo.html
Just wondering how you do the joins when you are dong single crochet border? I am almost out of matching yarn and want to use single not double to save wool. Thanks, Jan
Exactly the same technique, just using a single crochet 2 together instead. Keep an eye to make sure it's not pulling everything too taught (if it is, pop an extra single crochet in at the join 🙂 )
um, so, weird situation here, I'm trying to make a jacket out of a mix of solid granny squares and daisy granny squares that have 3 DC without a chain inbetween, 😅 how do i join them?
@@HookedbyRobin Hahaha! I do that too lol, I live by Lake Ontario in New York so on 90 degree days and the wind picks up I have a hoodie on because the breeze just makes me cold. I don't get it.
There is different terminologies for the stitch names, depending on whether you use UK or USA terms. I work in USA terminologies but the UK name for a single crochet is the double crochet (that might be what you are thinking of?) X

What a very simple and easy way to fix this ruffle problem! Thanks for sharing!
You are brilliant! I hate when it ripples. This solves many problems for me. Thanks!
Interesting, I usually do one stich into both the ch2 spaces and one into the center . I'll try this.
That was what I assumed would be done also.

For all subsequent rows, you don't need to do the double crochet together, you simply double crochet into each stitch 😀 x

It can add too many stitches which causes a ruffle to your work 👍

Having some trouble because I made a granny blanket that has 5 double crochets in the corners. Is there an easier way?

what kind of stitch was used to join the squares??
I'm new to crochet but are you using US terms? Is your border a treble crochet in UK terms? Thanks
I am using US terms yes, so you're correct - in UK terms I'm using trebles x
How do you flatten edge of 1 big granny square like this without any connect square
How would you do a single crochet row??

weird question. Do you get cold easily? because you are always wearing long sleeves lol.
LOL 😂 the short answer is yes! I'm one of those people who is ALWAYS cold - it drives my husband mad 😂 I'm like a lizard or something LMAO
