I could imagine how hard it was to doctor like this before your new arrowquip. It seems to be making a huge difference.
It’s a noticeable difference how much calmer the animals are entering and leaving the arrowquip- they seem nonchalant, which is great to see
Get something stretchy to put on your fountain, put it on your wrist when you turn on the water. It's a reminder to remember to turn off the water!
Did you ever get that old blue flat bed truck up snd running?
What a great new chute, especially for a single rancher! Amazing how much more calm the cattle are when they're being worked and exiting.
"I gotta move my live stream set here." Hilarious!! Love your sutle sense of humor. I was laughing out loud. Keep up the good work.
FTR hits it out of the park, again. Very organized video, enjoyable to watch. A sincere fellow who makes his critters his priority. Thanks for sharing FT.
That's probably the most classy livestream set I have ever seen ... a lawn chair in front of a burn barrel with a piece of dirty scrap wood and re-purposed scrap metal. And it works just fine. Making do with what you got. A great life lesson.
Morning FT! There’s just something about a full barn of hay, it’s a beautiful thing! Praying for the pink eye problems heal very soon for you, it definitely keeps you busy!❤❤❤❤
I believe you when you say you think the cows are in pain or uncomfortable. You see them every day, and even though they can't tell you, you know when something is off. Love the blue sky. 😊
Hi Terry from Canberra Australia, far from being a farmer (actually a recently retired highway trucker) and I have discovered your videos recently. Have learnt a lot in the last week! Farmers sure do have a hard life.
You will enjoy his channel. Make sure you return to watch his hard work and care for his animals.
@@billreal76 Yes I am a regular watcher now!
It's really good to see the difference the Arrowquip chute makes! It's so quiet therefore the animals go through it so much calmer! The other one was so noisy! love your channel!
And that headgate is a godsend with this pink eye.
Good morning, I look so forward to each of your videos. Is there
ANYTHING you can’t fix,repair, repurpose ,
or rebuild❓ As an”old timer” who grew up on a farm, I relate to SO many of your challenges, that you conquer in an A+ manner. You are truly
AWESOME‼️
The saying goes “behind every successful man, there is a Good Woman” need I say more?
May GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU, & YOUR FAMILY🙏🏼 ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Sure am impressed on how calm the cattle are going into and out of the arrowquip. Have a great time in the cool ocean air.
Hello from Romania, you are always alone in hard work
I’ve learned so much watching your channel. Who knew cows get pink eye. Glad you can fix it.
From what I understand, pink eye is a sign the animal is deficient in Vitamin A. When i had cattle I added a trace mineral/vitamin supplement called Vital to their water tanks once to twice a week. Helped ensure the cattle got the necessary nutrition. I hope the calves clear up soon.
I’m glad the cows with pinkeye are feeling better. It seems that you had a good year for hay.
I enjoyed today’s video. I would have loved to see the calfs going through the fly sprayer at the end after you signed off.
Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend.
You have been a cattle rancher for years. You know what you know. If you feel the pink-eye ones "seem" to feel better, they are. We trust you. 👍👏
First cutting of hay is DONE and put up in good shape. now the pasture clipping begins here.... Enjoy seeing the similarities of farming in your part of California versus farming in the mountains of SW Virginia
Good morning from CA. Have a great weekend. 🙋♀️😊
You are able to sense how the cows feel by your empathy towards them. An animal empath can sense what they need! This is why you don't need a vet as much but don't second guess yourself. Go with your gut feeling.
It would seem that you may have some mineral deficiency going on. Especially copper. I know it’s been warm in your area for awhile and those hair coats should have slicked off by now.
Best of luck. Your videos are on my watch list every week. Thank you for what you do.
I know u are happy to see all that hay in the barn and still have some to sell have a good weekend.
I love your yellow Lab. I just got a retired Mommy Golden yellow Lab yesterday. Traveled 8 hours each way to get her but she was definitely worth the trip ! Glad you “gettin’ ‘er done” !
Yes I totally agree with the ounce of prevention! given our humidity is heading south with triple digits next week!! You'll get on top of the pink eye, just takes time and having them at the home ranch, makes the whole process, check, set and automatic! Good post FTR!
Thank you for the top shelf video work on these last loads of hay. I love this stuff. Makes me feel like I am a part of the work. Very good for my old brain.
Again thank you very much 😊.
What a shame you had to "tear down" your Live Stream setup!! LOL That's sure a ton of hay!!!
Farmers/Ranchers lives revolves around hay. Lol. You are either making hay, looking for fields to cut hay or looking for hay to buy. It’s never ending. Lol. And don’t even get me started on repairing the haying equipment. 😢😂
Man, that live stream set up is high tech for sure... 😜. I keep missing them though. I know the live streams are probably spur of the moment things but, be nice if you could give a heads up beforehand if possible, I have questions... 😄
Thanks for taking us along on another video!
Great job! looked like a successful day. Nice video.
We got our last beef calf yesterday, too! It was also out of a 2nd time calver also. Her calf from last year is a beauty. She had a heifer again, so I'm hoping for a repeat. Definitely keepers.
congrats on a successful calving season with 2 bonus babies!
Nice load of hay! With so many ranchers having either flooding or draught, having a good hay crop is truly a blessing! Of all the years I've been watching you, this summer seems to be the worst for pinkeye with the most cattle having it. Sure do hope this last treatment cures it. The new bull calf is nice and healthy! For this calving season, how many bulls and how many heifers did you end up with? Hoping you and family have a great 4th of July!🇺🇸❤🇺🇸
I luv how you treat the animals…never thought I would enjoy cows so much …but just can’t wait for your post every week…plus those lashes are amazing….how are kids kids doing and your wife…sending thoughts from Scotland….
Nice full barn of hay. Priceless
50 years ago we used a blue spray on the pink eye calves. You could tell the farmers who were treating pink eye by the blue stain on their hand,
I onlÿ had one calf get pink eye, she was left permanently blind despite treatment .Sad as she ŵould have been a keeper. Survived to be beefed.
Suggestion......
Instead of wrapping the hose in a circle, wrap it in a figure 8. It will uncurl without kinking up
2306 knows you are helping!
Love the live stream set up. Definitely a farmer set up.
Tyler that correct. No sense putting them through the stress. Keeping them locked up is better.
You know your own animals better than anyone else except for possibly a vet.
The best part is the farmer live stream stand. I live that way!
Good morning FT, Ms FTR and Kids, and animals. I missed the live steam, anyhoo how is the blind calf doing, momma cow with extra low utter. Have a blessed week, and see you next time❤🥂.
Good care pays off in the long run
I know you're really happy with the Arrow quip looks like it's paying for itself plus it's so much safer for you and the cattle great purchase I'm sure you would agree
Maybe name the winter pasture the first name of your friend who owned it, I remember the video you made giving us the history of the man and the land.
Thank you for sharing your way of life. Would be cool to buy you a beer and sit back yack about it all.
2325 took this treatment pretty well(I can say from couple thousand miles away)…😁
I am really surprised how well the little Ford handles the big bales. And nothing breaks. Amazing
Hope you all had a good time at the coast. Well deserved.
What a great hay filled barn. Calves still not liking getting sprayed.😄
Have a great weekend.
Here in Frederick MD been very dry looks like only going to get one cut this yr on the hay. Looks like your doing maybe above normal glad for you.
LOL I thought you had strings of little lights strung on the partition poles, then I remembered FT has said his grandfather built the barn with pre-used metal panels! LOL
Tyler if you’ll lay your hose out in figure 8 fashion it doesn’t seem to catch or knot up when you drag it.
I just enjoy your videos so much. The kindness that you show to your animals is admirable. Even though they won't be with you for a long time, the life they have while they are with you is very nice. And boy, that new squeeze chute is quite the upgrade. Hardly any clanking, banging and squeaking. Love it, and I can only imagine how nice it is for you, and your herd.
Seems like your old chute would be perfect for the steer pasture, if you convert it into a mobile unit.
I love your show and you! You are so hard working and explaining all your logic is super interesting! Thank you Farmer Tyler. I see you 3 years ago looking younger and I wonder how you can do all this by yourself! But I hope one day you can have a helper. Can you show the chickens on one episode?
Again good job there doctor Tyler yeah they do seem like they're in a little bit better mood it's tough being sick
What did that ' live stream ' set set you back? 😂😂
Looks dry early this year, could be one of the reasons the pink eye crop is so prevalent this year.
Who needs a tractor? Just hitch up the Tyler.
That new squeeze chute is a Cadillac! Much easier to work with
You could really benefit from having a good cattle dog.
I Cannot help to Feel Bad for them. That must really hurt. Sorry U have Not been able to provide other Treatment Tyler. Can U maybe call the Vet for some advice. Maybe their Shots need to be Stronger. I thank U for taking care of them. I just feel bad the way they show Pain. I hope they get better soon. Keep Pushing, we Love U and the Family.
Bringing hay home. You don’t want it to ever end. Good results.
Drops must sting. I have never seen other UA-camr with the yellow gadget that holds there head seems like a great idea
GREAT VIDEO pink eye is contagious write Tyler
Oh, to have such lovely eyelashes as those critters...
If he wont open his eye...cover the eye that is open.
Did your grandpa or you register for a brand? What does it look like? Thanks.😊
Wonderful episode 😊😊😊x
A job that never ends, having too much hay should be a good thing.
Btw, the Calves, Bulls, Cows, Heifers & Steers say "thank you" for all that gourmet hay!
THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
Watching in Baltimore!! Always a great video!!
I installed a new Jobe valve in a Rubbermaid 150 gallon tank this week. Been working on getting the level set where I want it. I moved the tank yesterday, hooked up the hose and went about my doins…8 hours later it was still running over and had created the mud hole from hell. I should have videoed it and posted. Be safe.
@@whitechurchfarm sounds like my kinda luck...
@@jaclynalley809 it was a mess plus a lot of wasted water. Lol
@@whitechurchfarm 😫
We always said good enough for government work
Great job Tyler!
Those patches are a brilliant idea.
Two serious questions, Tyler. About living in California.
1) Do you feel like you will ever be priced out (taxes) with the amount of land you have?
2) Do you ever feel like Californian laws and agriculture policies allow you to succeed, or do they become overbearing and make this very difficult for you and your family.
You do not need to explain how you know, when an animal that you are around a lot you will see and notice behavior when they do feel well or are not comfortable, you just know, when you care the way you do about your animals. I had a bad day today but watching those beauties just put a smile on my face. Thank You for caring for these amazing animals I REALLY LIKE YOUR CONTENT. See you on the next one😊🐮
I’m glad you observed the infection and seem to have caught it early
Where’s the cats?
So you keep equipment out inthe pasture good for you. Iwas wondering how you moved the bales. I tossed around 100lb bales by hand I used bale hooks and it wasn't easy.
Why not prevent pink eye with injection of Bovilis 20/20 vision 7 way? Good for Blackleg as well.
Could 2306 feel that rotten?? Not just “patient”? It was sweet to see though ❤ went to see our son this past weekend but I’m caught up now lol crazy how that pink eye is hanging on. Great job in all you did
Good job Tyler
Hey Tyler. I'm sure you've explained this in the past but I've missed it. When do the cattle get branded?
I love your sense of humour and gentle ways. And I’m glad you’re doing all you can to make headway against the pinkeye. ♡♡♡
Why didn't you ask to borrow my 29' flatbed gooseneck trailer? lol You could have done with the hay by now.
Besides the eye patch, the calves look amazing. Heads are up, ears are at attention, and they are more feisty. I am inclined to think the infection is viral, but preventative measures are always good.
You know that they probably know by now you are trying to help, but that eye has been in the dark under the patch for a week. I'm sure the light will hurt for awhile. Hang in there treating pinkeye is one of my least favorite things.
Watching Tyler load up the the hay barn I noticed all those holes in the ceiling of the tin roof. I live in SoCal so I know rain is not a daily concern for him. But when it does rain doesn't the water that leaks over the hay bails ruin them?
Thanks 😊
Are those palm trees that I see in the background? 🇨🇦♥️🇨🇦
When you first put the patches on, they dont seem to mind them. like a cat or or dog would immediately try to get it off. I realize they dont like it, but for the best outcome, its for their own good. and its your soft voice, I sware they listen to that.
What is Buddy's role on the ranch?
Good question. If buddy were a donkey I'd say protector...
Pasture pet , perhaps.
He answered this in the last livestream he did, but I will try to summarize. Buddy was a twin abandoned by his mom and became a bottle calf. He was (and still is) super curious and friendly and was raised in their backyard initially. The whole family fell in love with him and he basically became a pet. He is small for a steer, and would not be worth a lot if he were sent to auction, and they all like him too much to do it anyway. If a cow needs to be penned up for some reason, Buddy could be a buddy for them. So he stays. I think that about covers it.
Gotta move my live stream set🤣🤣🤣....
What happened to the blind calf??
Is it possible to spray paint the washtub area to look nicer with the new squeeze shoot?
What did you do with the old chute? Could you not get it to the steer pasture for occasional use?
Just curious but why does it seem to be that a vast majority of the pink eye seems to be in the right eye
Again, I ask "what's going on with the Jubilee?"
