Hurricane Helene just passed over. My power has been out for 2 days. I have my charger plugged up to the inverter so I can keep my iPad charged. Don’t want to miss an episode of FTR! Good morning, Farmer Tyler and family
A side delivery rake windrows are harder to round bale and get good shaped bales unless you rake two into one. The side delivery rake makes a teardrop cross section windrow. The rake side is thicker than outside
My dad backed the tractor up to a rat hole & piped the exhaust into the hole. We walked & plugged as many exit holes as we could find. That was a very effective solution
I trapped pack rats in an old house as a kid on my grandparent ranch. I used a three ft section of old stove pipe and slid a spring trap in the middle with grain. I attached a small block of wood to the chain so if they only caught their leg they could not escape.
Betcha Peter Larson is pleased with your New Holland purchases, Tyler! Excellent decision, congratulations on connecting with that farmer! Evelyn in Minnesota
Those hay rakes I probably walked around after they were made - my dad was the NH warehouse Forman in New Holland so he took us along on weekends to work on paperwork and / or just walked around to make sure things were good - you can still get the Red and Yellow paint 😊
New subscriber Taylor. My husband was watching you on TV UTUBE and I sat in on a few episodes. Soon I was hooked and subscribed here through my cell though UTUBE 8:17 Neither one of us grew up on a Ranch or Farm. It's fascinating to watch all the happenings on your ranch!. I like to see your cows go through to get sprayed with solution to rid flies, my husband enjoys your Building of items. We watch every time you post a video. We've learned a lot through your channel.
Hi FT! More equipment to make things easier is always a plus! Good luck on the rats! Praying you can get rid of them! My husband uses hoses and water for other rodents, it may work. God’s blessings!
I keep trying to tell you mix half cornbread and half baking soda in a ziplock so you can make sure the two are mixed good with no clumps left. Put mix in a container so it won't get wet , and they can access it. It sounds to simple but it really works. And don't mix it with peanut butter.
Like The Equipment!!! The Cow's Much Better & It's The Time Time Of Year For rat's & Never Just One But Many... My Son In Law Is Watching Your Show With Me God Bless Yall ❤
You can find yokes at farm sales. Great find a buy on two basket rakes. I have a New Holland rake and have thought about getting a second. Either that or a wheel rake that is big enough to bring two swaths together.
Excellent purchase there Tyler and I think you're gonna be so happy with two of them'cause you never know and then there interchangeable so you can take parts off of them if parts go obsolete I think it was an excellent purchase
That was some good looking new holland equipment, I would've grabbed them and run as soon as I found out the other person was selling them. Also when I was around 12 years old, my grandpa put a water hose down one end of a rat hole and me and several cousins with ballbats at the other hole, needless to say, I think we missed maybe one rat and killed about a dozen so it works. Thanks for making this video, I always enjoy watching them!😊❤
Get a dukes whole body trap (the small pnes) they are lethal on any small critter and it doesn't matter if they are going in or out it will get them. Just be careful with your dogs and cats as it will hurt or kill them also. The cost about 6 or 7 dollars
The fuel savings and half the raking time will be worth the cost of the dual hitch required to pull both rakes together, which you can easily fabricate. How ever it will require a second set of dolly wheels.
Great to get new equipment, be it new or new to you! Just opens up more possibilities for improvement. Glad you have the LS, seemed to make short work with unloading. Another good day on the FTR!
My father always said, if you see one rat there are 7 more in the area. That's how sneaky they are. Good bargains are hard to pass up.... That's what my wife tells me .....😅
Interesting. I’ve been thinking I had ground squirrels and baiting them. Maybe rats. Will try some of that poison as I have no other pets. They are making holes in my chicken yard. Thanks. Love the new rakes. They lasted longer than you already so they will keep right on lasting. Good purchase.
Tyler the 256 can have a clevis hitch or the dolly wheel setup like you have, the 256 is a left hand delivery and the 260 means right hand delivery, they are the same width roughly 8' rakes, a 258 is a left hand delivery that is roughly 9' width, they also made a 57 that is 3pt hitch rollabar rake
I see a round baler in the background at the seller, I am assuming same seller that sold you the round baler? Those rakes had a hitch attachment that was built somewhat like an implement carrier and went up and over the first rake to a steerable axle that pulled the second rake. The rake with the front dolly was usually upfront on those so you could offset it so it was behind the tractor tire when you are working in between narrow borders.
Grew up using a new holland 56 until it couldn't be bandaided together anymore. Then my grandpa bought a neighbors 256, used a year and I bought a "brand new" to me, v rake. I'm positive the v rake won't be raking hay in 60 years
I am loving the Purr of LS Big blue 😊 Also happy for you to have the opportunity to use her, you sure deserve it.
I’m so happy that the cow is back out with the herd
I have always called your rakes (side delivery rake), and it always made sense to me , because that is what this machinery does.
New-to-you equipment adding to your farming arsenal. Another great day on the ranch!

Prayers to you and your family, friends and neighbors 🙏🏼
Stay safe & praying for return of power soon.
You gota know what's important!😂
Be safe
Prayers for all of you 🎉❤

Anytime you haul a rake and don't find part of somebody's mailbox hanging in the basket when you get home is a success
😂😂😂
🤣🤣
😁
😂😂
Congratulations on the new equipment. Can’t wait to see you use it.
I just clicked on this without watching it first but I do love to see the happiness on your face so here we are
Always good to visit the herd for us 🐂 🐄 They are looking happy & healthy
Happy for your new addition of rakes to your equipment
My dad backed the tractor up to a rat hole & piped the exhaust into the hole. We walked & plugged as many exit holes as we could find. That was a very effective solution
That is awesome to have some new equipment thank you for the video
Glad that you got Big Blue to take your new tous off your trailer.
I am sure that you are so thankful to have big blue! Also, we used to fill up the hole with water and waited with our pellet guns. 😁
❤ Always a pleasure watching you. If anyone can make something for your new equiptment, it is you !!!
So glad to see both cows doing well.
More toys to help save time on work.
Have a great weekend.
Good deal on the rake and the L S made it easy to un load have a good day.
Ii have only seen a rat once in my life, when I lived in BC - I grew up and presently live in Alberta, home of the rat patrol !
I trapped pack rats in an old house as a kid on my grandparent ranch. I used a three ft section of old stove pipe and slid a spring trap in the middle with grain. I attached a small block of wood to the chain so if they only caught their leg they could not escape.
I know you only have it for a year, but I'm so glad for you that you have that LS tractor. Think you'll be happy with the rakes too.
Beautiful...love those antique implements...good deal.
Are those "antique" implements THAT old ? As long as they get the job done !!
@@johnking8679 Exactly...i prefer using antique tractors and implements...they were well built...easy to fix

"I wouldn't know that if i didn't look at her". Lol!!!
Really enjoy your channel. Thanks so much for sharing your journey. Best of luck.
Take Care!!!
A liitle paint and love and those implements will be good as new!
Thank you so much for all your efforts videoing your ranch activities; you do a great job.
👍👏
Yep remember them well from before the eighties. We use those to rake hay no tetters
You look good in that new tractor!😊
Congratulations
Sounds like a great plan

Oooow I’m so glad you got your new equipment and a bargain 😃😃😃😃😃. The cows walking great now👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻xx

New to me. That’s what every piece of equipment I have started as.
You forgot that one of the rakes can be rented out and make a lot of money😂😂
The HDR looks great

Around here those are called side delivery rakes
Good timing...just as i was dozing off at work😅
Good morning from Forest Park, Oklahoma. Have a blessed day!!!
Getting ready for the rice straw as the first use
Excellent purchase there Tyler and I think you're gonna be so happy with two of them'cause you never know and then there interchangeable so you can take parts off of them if parts go obsolete I think it was an excellent purchase
Up here in Maine we have meadow and forest Voles. They look a lot like mice and rats, but have a slightly different face.
Thanks Tyler ,peace brother…
And the bakingsoda mix won't hurt anything else.

I am very happy that cow walking around fine good job Tyler
Whoo-hoo...🎉 the oldie but goody quality ❤ Nice! So exciting.
The fuel savings and half the raking time will be worth the cost of the dual hitch required to pull both rakes together, which you can easily fabricate. How ever it will require a second set of dolly wheels.
Put a half a scoop of dirt from your tractor on top of that rat hole, that will take care of them. This works good for ground hornets as well.
That's what my wife tells me .....😅
You only see 1 to 5% of them
Plug the hole with cement
Your fancy new tractor sure is nice!!!!
Have fun with your new work toys!❤
side delevry rake
You treat your cattle very well !!
Drop a lit road flare in the hole and cover it up. The sulfur will foul the hole and also show you where any other hidden exits are.
two is one and one is none........nice find!!
Rats and mice never have just one hole. You would need to find all the exits to be effective with a solution.
New equipment. Yes.
Thx

Hell!..you had to say build a yoke to run both!..
Now you got to do it...PLEASE!..😁👍

Doubling the hay rakes together is the way to go, now get yourself a Tedder and you’re all set for haying.
Get the mink man😊

In Chicago, rats were faught by sending a chunk of dry ice down the hole. It suffocates them.
Looks like the hayrake we used when I was a kid 😊
Haha…I love how you justify your purchase. 😂
Have a great weekend! 😃
Of course you could rig up a yoke! And only you!
Youre right on with that statment. If he thinks about something, he will make it.
We call them side-delivery rakes.
Grew up using a new holland 56 until it couldn't be bandaided together anymore. Then my grandpa bought a neighbors 256, used a year and I bought a "brand new" to me, v rake. I'm positive the v rake won't be raking hay in 60 years
Turn one of the rakes into a weed wiper
Good idea - use it to get rid of that tall smut grass!
Dude, you have our rakes, we have a rake dolly so we can use them in tandem.
I know its more work for you, but I'd like to see you use them both at the same time. Only because I know I'll never get to do that myself 😆
Can rake up some rice straw now
Look up New holland rake hitch you could build it pretty easily.
Good thinking. Omg the rat was huge. Flood it i think 😂😂
If you put a towel over the trap, both it dont look the same and it,s what I normally do anyway. It makes the trap cave like to look at for the rat
Flooding won’t work, they have built in air pockets in their tunnels. Just keep setting the good natured trap. Outside by the tunnel.
I would do the water, it would water some plants at the same time. 😊
Great video farmer Tyler ranch I like the new hay rake
Hi Tyler from Indiana, I like the two rakes Tyler my grandpa had rake like that until 6 wheel rake
I’m going to suggest you put those 2 rakes to work together. It’s faster to rake and you only need 1 driver to get the job done.
Use your gofer trap or your gas operated trap for that rat. Nice rakes, I can see why you bought them.👍🙏🏽😎✌🏻🇺🇸
I moved from Central California to, eventually, Olympia, WA. We have more than our share of moles here. They sure play havoc on lawns and gardens.
I live here, too! Since ‘96!!! Nice to meet you!
Good rakes in Minnesota there all over .
That opossem you have on trail cam came and ate them mice that got zapped. I have seen them eat mice and rats.
And ask me how i know the mix works. Got rid of all of them worked great.Just try it !!!!!!!!!!!
You’re gonna need a set of forks for that new tractor.
Put peanut butter on some Alka Seltzer tablets. :)
