Hope ur ears are ok! *lol* I remember playing a Model T at medium loudness (with some Fuzz Pedals) through a 2x12" and a 1x15" and that was damn loud. Awesome for distorted bass sounds too!
I had a Beta lead 2/12 combo, didn't appreciate how great it was a 16. But I'm 50 now and wish I kept it. Also have had the 2 Marshall's JCM 800/900 as well as the Soldano HR 50 loved them all. Have an original Peavey 5150 is my favorite. Never had my Sunn beta lead sounding as good as yours does though lol. Kick ass equipment, love all your rigs.
My only explanation is that it's hard to hear shit in a forest so we had to make them fucking loud as fuck. I grew up a few miles from Tualatin. Every school had Sunn amps and because we're that cool, high schools had JC120 to go with their Rhodes'. Yes. Plural. It's weird being 50. And I grew up thinking *everyone* played, because in Clackamas County, everyone did and probably still does. Flyover states are the most doomy and metal so there you go bucko - Oregon was the real bowels of the NW that spawned the hell of deep woods metal.
I’ve heard Glenn Fricker’s version of the Sun Beta Lead, and for the kind of music that I like to play I was pleasantly surprised by how good the amp sounded with a tube screamer in front and the gain on the amp dialed back. I personally probably would’ve used a Boss SD-1 instead of a tube screamer so I can get more dynamic response out of my pick attack, but I was very pleasantly surprised by what I heard in that video and i just thought it was really interesting how easy it was to be able to get those sounds out of that amp with the right amount of tweaking with the EQ and the gain.
dude the intro sounds KILLER!!! what are the pedals used? this is the kind of dark pad sound Im looking to create, used multiple delays and a tera echo so far but it just becomes an unintelligible mess
Just curious, how do the Beta Lead cleans compare to the model T, love playing my the model t in Helix for cleans for ambient stuff. The Beta Lead is kind of affordable. Thank you!
Nice video dude. Hve a question! I recently bought a Sunn Beta Lead Head but i dont know what baffle or what speaker can I plugged in to. Could you help me an advise me?
Hilbish Beta preamps are very good stuff, I don't know him but from what I saw he seems very knowledgeable, he is one of the few builders I would blindly trust.
What would you say is the sweet spot master volume wise for the edge of breakup sound? I know people love to run these at 10 but I can't really do that with a Torpedo Captor X.
Interesting. Both original model T and Beta amplifiers were produced after Conrad Sundholm sold Sunn to Hartzell. So, theoretically, either those amps are not real Sunn, or the Fender era is real Sunn too.
Sunn Amps are the coolest looking amps. 😃
Bank breaking mission complete
Oh yes...Thankfully my wife is cool ; )
These things used to be dirt cheap "pawn shop trash", too!
Can't find a Beta Lead on Reverb or eBay below a grand anymore!
@Smurfman256 glad I snagged by Beta 212 combo for $600 last November :)
@@Smurfman256also grabbed an Enforcer 212 combo for $837.38... not pocket change, but not a grand either!
Hope ur ears are ok! *lol*

Now I have to fulfill the genre I just named into existence...
LET IT BE KNOWN
*I AM THE VANGUARD OF DEEP WOODS METAL*
Rhodes or Rhoads?

That RI T's on my list bro, more than the V1 or V2. Cool stuff bro !

Sunn would be the full experience. but any good 4x12 or 2x12 should do the job : )
Just bought one a few months back and bought an Emperor 1x12 + 1x15. Sounds so massive.
Awesome.
Btw, have you tried Beta Preamp by Hilbish?
I have not, but I'll have to check it out!

Plug an Acapulco Gold into that model t

215 JBL D140? Centre port? Been trying to hear anything through on of those cabs to get a feel.
Is the gain coming from the amps or a specific distortion/fuzz pedal? Great video!
What speakers are loaded on those cabineta dude ?
What ever they we're originally loaded with
what cab is that for the beta lead?
Awesome! What pedal(s) are engaged at 4:50? Thanks!
JHS Muffuletta
How does the sunn compare to a regular cab?
No fizz here, no paint on the walls either
Intro>stereo; the rest>?
Nooo why pedals :( I'd like to hear this combo straight in
Sounds great though! I'm just a purist
which sunn cabinet is that?
the one on the beta lead
Nick Turner beta lead 4x12 and the model t is going through a 2x15
Beefy as heck
But... it's in mono
jesus christ
they're not really in stereo
Fender model t nothing to do with sunn corp
Thanks for your wonderfully helpful and productive insight....
