    Great video - thank you! I'm preparing to do a 7 day coconut water fast and have plenty of delicious coconuts on the island I live on, but sometimes I run into a certain type of coconut that wasn't covered in this video. Do you know an easy way (without a machete or ax) to de-husk the green coconuts that contain the nut inside? I can crack open the nut itself once I have access to it, but I'm sick of bothering my partner to de-husk them for me first. I really want to learn how to do it on my own before I start this fast, without fearing the loss of my fingers or hands! Thank you!!

      @Theartofunity  6 років тому

      If not using a knife you have to have a too like a screwdriver to get past the green part to open it up and wedge it off.

    You dont need to worm the coconut to seperate the meat, just hitting with the hammer will leberate the meat. Becose of the vibration you create....

    I can’t see buying coconuts in my state. We have coconut trees on every street in Florida. I have 5 coconut trees in my yard. People come buy to get coconuts. I ask them to leave me 3 because I don’t climb trees, just eat them lol

    Personally , I prefer young coconut without any meat inside . The water inside keeps maturing making it sweet and less nutritious.
