- Today Apple unveiled the brand new 2024 M4 iPad Pro 11" and 13" alongside the M2 iPad Air 11" and new 13" size for less savvy or non "Pro" users. They also launched two new accessories alongside these new tablets: a redesigned 2024 Magic Keyboard for the Pro exclusively. It's designed sort of like the bottom half of a MacBook and is crafted out of aluminum with a larger trackpad and function row. We also got a brand new Apple Pencil Pro with more capabilities built in. I got a few minutes with devices/accessories and managed to capture some nice footage of everything! I will say, the iPad is already really thin and really fast. BUT the screen upgrade is incredible… and you are right, putting on a case won’t make it seem as bulky anymore

That’s what I want to find out too… Pretty noticeable difference in the XDR display with and without it when they first got them at my work office. In videos it doesn’t look that different, but in person it almost makes you mad sometimes if you’re working with colors lmao

Definitely excited, I’ve been looking to get a new iPad (currently have a 3rd gen 11inch pro) for about 2 years now, but I’ve held off cause I wanted to see what they were gonna do for the refresh. I’m glad I waited 😭 I’m able to trade mine in and get $330 off, so I’m glad they bumped the starting storage to 256gb cause now I won’t have to pay extra to upgrade it. Ima have to get a new Magic Keyboard, but hopefully i can still use my 2nd gen Apple Pencil 😵💫

It’s great see an OLED now and the increased thinness is excellent in bringing the weight down which is very welcome on the big Pro. Good upgrade.

no, even the older apple pencil won't work. You need to buy the newer models of pencil and keyboard if you want to use them when you upgrade to these new ipad pros
@@chicharongbulaklak2805 older Apple Pencil I understood as there is a change in magnetic mechanism as the camera moved. But what did the Magic Keyboard get? Only aluminium base, function keys and larger trackpad. They have the same connectors. So it could have worked with M2 M1 iPad pros but yeah Apple being Apple .

Thank you for the insights. The iPad is thinner for me I would have preferred keeping the same size but increase the capacity of the battery would have been a plus if it can have 20hr battery life that would have been awesome.

You mean the magnetic one? It shouldn’t. They changed the position of the charging coil, and the old pen likely can’t work
Maybe it will work, but probably can't charge it wirelessly with these new ipads. Since there are changes in the position of magnets and coils.
If the Air had promotion then it may as well be an iPad Pro.

I have a 2020 11inch ipad pro. It has some dead pixels or something weird going on in the corner of my screen. I was thinking I might upgrade this year but I don't think I will. I just don't feel the drive to. And it's sad to say but I feel Apple has been losing me these past couple of years. I just don't like the way they do things. Honestly the only ipads that I think would be worth it for me right now would be if the ipad air had 120hz screen or a 120hz ipad mini. I might start looking at other options.
the iPad mini is better for some for sure. but i'd wait until WWDC to see what else they have in store for the ridiculously powerful M4 chip!! :)

Same model, I have this small “dead zone” where touch sometimes doesn’t register, and I was so sure I was going to upgrade this year until I saw what was going on. They removed so many things and considering I just got an Apple Pencil for this iPad last year (no backwards compatibility sucks) I guess my expectations were too high and I don’t really feel a drive anymore.

Wenn auch auf dem iPad gespielt werden soll, würde ich immer zum iPad Pro raten, da es ein 120 Hz Display hat und das iPad Air weiterhin nur 60 Hz.
One of the biggest differences I've found it the past with iPad pro /keyboard combos, is that is really doesn't live up to the 'post-PC' hype, let alone to obvious deficiencies in iOS vs MacOS. These combos tend to not balance well, can't relly be used on the lap and/or other 'on the go' scenarios, rather, they tend to work best on a desktop & which tends to defeat the purpose a little.
Given here that we have a redesign of both the 13" iPad Pro (thinner, lighter) and the the new magic keboard dimensions and materials, am therefore wondering if this really improves this situation in terms of balance & ergonomics.
Of course there are many other less expensive keyboard options available, eg, the excellent ESR accessories etc, but, what about Apple's prefferred expensive combo here, paerhaps even including their new pen at the top (extra weight and/or balance considerations). Does it actually work like a laptop? Or is it another overpriced nothingburger?

Removing the ultra wide lens was a good move. You don‘t need it on an iPad, especially not on a 13‘ version.

Nice , dünner darf es ja kaum werden sonst geht das usb c Kabel ja nicht mehr rein . Aluminium Keyboard ist Mega und Tandem Oled sowie 256 GB Speicher . Da kann man verschmerzen das eine Kamera entfallen ist , wird wahrscheinlich durch Rechenleistung kompensiert. Na gut das Zubehör muss neu aber die neuen Funktionen rechtfertigen das schon . M4 hat jede menge Power siehe Benchmark 10/10 etwa 14700 und 9/10 wird bei 13900 liegen . Super bei dem M4 .

How much base storage would you recommend If I want to run procreate, procreate dreams for animation, and Final Cut Pro. I currently have a 12.9 3rd gen pro and I’ve only used 150gb out of 256gb over 6 years but only ran procreate. No animation or fcp. I’m looking to downsize to an 11” because the 12.9 just isn’t portable enough but I’m wondering if I should update the storage.

For people like me living with chronic pain the thiner iPad does matter as the ligher i carry the less the pain.

@TamimTech22 60 hz is justifiable on the Ipad 10 lineup that costs $350, but on a $600 device is a total ripoff. You'll get more for your money buying the M1 iPad Pro. It's a better option than the new iPad air lineup. I can't really understand why some people always try to defend Apple shady practices. These are the same people who praise the MacBook memory scam (Apple selling MacBooks for over 1K with 8GB ram and 256 GB storage)

I’m not holding my breath….the M4 chip has only 3 performance cores, unless you go 1 or 2 Tb storage. The M2 conversely has 4 performance cores across the board. The new IPad Pros built for consumption not creation….if I’m going to pay $1500 for a better screen, might as well buy an Apple Display, it has the same capabilities.
M4 is faster so how is 4 cores faster on an inferior chip?

🔺The M4 chip in the 256 and 512 GB models is a binned one with lower GPU and performance cores than getting an 1T or 2T model which has the fully unlocked M4 chip.

Thank you! With the iPad Pro, Apple has finally turned a gigantic iPhone into a small laptop! The iPad Pro has always had powerful hardware (and a hefty price tag!!!), but to be honest, there has never been software truly suitable for the iPad Pro! It was like having a laptop with iPhone software, and that was why iPads were only bought for kids, not for office use. Applications like Capture One, Photoshop, Acrobat Reader, Preview, file management, and closing an open program... everything is 10x harder or impossible with iPadOS! Hopefully, Apple will finally introduce a "MacOS" and not just iPhone software (marketed as "iPad OS") for the "modular MacBook Air with a touchscreen and stylus" (also known as "iPad Pro"), otherwise, Apple itself will be to blame for the downfall of the iPad Pro. Paying EUR 3,500 for a fancy laptop with iPhone software is an intelligence test, not a deal!
Hardware upgrades are useless if it's being limited by the software. Apple is really making a distinction between a phone, a tablet and a laptop because of course, marketing
So why even bother coming out with an iPad Air when the Pros are now thinner and lighter?
What bothers me the most is the fact that a very expensive M2 Air only has 8 GB RAM despite having a (very welcome) 1 TB SSD option! The M2 can handle easily up to 24 GB RAM. Same game with the Pro…it’s very cool…but for the incredible price…why „only“ up to 16 GB RAM and not 24 or 32? My 3 years old M1 Pro also has 16 GB RAM! If you really want to use it as a Final Cut Pro device 4 TB SSD would be better…but no…only 2 TB…just like my 3 years old M1 Pro as well! Sometimes the decisions of Apple management doesn’t make any sense at all!
Mate just by a macbook at that point because why does an ipad need all that power just to run mobile apps?🤣
@@benjaminharris8354I already have the 16“ M1 Max with 64 GB RAM and 8 TB SSD!…only mentioned it because the iPad Pro is ridiculously expensive here in Europe…up to 3.139 € after taxes. For that price not getting the best possible RAM or SSD (both of that cost Apple only a few dollars, because prices are low) doesn’t make any reasonable sense. If it would be 1.000 € cheaper…okay…but not for that price! 😄
