In April, I upgraded to the iPad Pro 2022 model. Two weeks before the newer versions came out. I updated from the iPad six generation. I am really happy with my purchase. Upgrading from a 2018 model to a 2022 model was a big leap for me when it comes to the generations of the iPad. Although I was two weeks shy of the newer pro models coming out I am really happy with my purchase. I think the newer features of the iPad Pro are cool however for myself, not something I need to go out and update too. I use the iPad for very basic needs, and I’m not in the need to update every time there’s a new feature coming out. an example I bought the Apple Pencil second generation with my purchase. I’m a novice drawer, and in many ways, do not need the cool features that the new Apple Pencil Pro offers. If I was more of a professional in my drawing and photographing, maybe I could see myself upgrading, or waiting until the newer models came out. Loving my new iPad Pro 2022 model.
Exactly, why I’m also keeping my 2021…there is absolutely no need for the power for every day users! It’s insane what hardware is inside and for what!?!

coming from an apple ecosystem owner... honestly 90% of people wont ever use the full extent of the power of either the M4 ipad, unless youre an artist who renders a lot of work, an architect, engineer, media professional, and neither the capabilities of the apple pencil pro, whom is geared towards PROFESSIONAL artists and designers. Average joes such as myself who own an apple watch, an iphone 15 pro max and will use the iPad for note taking, sporadic video watching and very sporadic gaming, the last gen are just right. Hell! you can even withhold upgrading the M2 models for the next 5-6 years and you wont notice any kind of lag or stutters from the M2 models. Besides, Apple's forcing us to either go pencil C or Pro, no inbetween, and that screams scummy.
If there really is a hybrid OS in the works, that would be good. Both the M2 Pro and M4 Pro large screens are where the real comparison/differences are. To me it comes down to if you don’t have an iPad Pro, the M4 is totally the way to go. If you have an iPad Pro M2, probably not. If you have an M1, just wait for the first sale/discounts to move some of the M4s at the end of this year. Have both the large M2 and M4, and the only reason for the M2 was that it makes infinitely more sense than to buy this year’s large screen iPad Air with it’s 2015-ish LCD screen tech. Got a 256GB Gen6 12.9” Pro for the same price as a M4 13” Air with one memory upgrade. The TB port alone is worth it on the Pro.

MaxTech showed almost no real world performance benefits between the binned and unbinned M4 chips, so it's essentially pointless to get the 1TB model just to get the "fastest" M4 iPad Pro. Just get the amount of storage you actually need and spend the extra money on something else.
I still have my 12.9 M2, the performance improvements don't parlay into real world benefits for me. That being said, if I didn't have to upgrade the pencil and Magic Keyboard I would have traded in my M2. Now I will wait for the next generation.
Another point of difference not mentioned is the power consumption. When browsing the web, the 13” m4 consumes about 5-6W screen brightness at max. Whereas the 12.9” m2 consumes double that. So the new oled display definitely is very power efficient.
The 2 main reasons why I picked the M4 13-inch iPad Pro over the M2 are the beautiful oled screen and the front facing camera in a landscape mode for videocalls.
Man I compared the old pro to the new one today at the store and seeing both next to each other, the previous generation screen colours look washed out. Did not think the difference would be so noticeable. But yeah still too expensive for what it does
I am torn between iPad Pro M4 11” and iPad Air 13” as the price is similar. Which one should I get? Currently on iPad Pro 10.5” 2017. I do use my iPad as media consumption, take notes, read books. For any heavy duty work, I still rely on my MBP Pro M1
if price is similar the m4 for future proofing but since you are an average light user the air is the right choice and a bigger screen for media consumption and books.both will be supported for many years to come.
What about 12.9” M2 iPad Pro vs 11” M4 iPad Pro in 256gb? They are both very similar in pricing now, but which is one is a better value or worth it in your opinion?
thats not good. way too many deletions/regressions for a Pro product. would still make more sense for an Air product to be thinner and lighter than a Pro product. but the deletions/regressions on the speakers, mmWave 5G , the ultrawide and one mic hurt my interest. may get the 13 inch air instead since I want the big screen and pencil pro, but will check out the display on a demo unit first. Also very concerned where the ipad pro goes from here. I dont care about a folding ipad unless it is much bigger (15-18 inch) and a very nice crease/durability is OK, and even thats not too exciting. But I do not want them to remove the USB C and thatd be necessary for any further thinness or light weight improvements. what features can they add next?

And I can do 98% of what the new iPad Pro m4 can do. YEP!
It's completely useless spending so much money on a expensive tablet which has limitations of softwares. Better to invest the same money in M3 MacBook pros & use the benefits of all power to its fullest.
I get that the new screen is great because of the color, but I have the m2 11 Inch ipad pro and never use a higher brightness than half of the possible brightness. I think they both have 4 speakers, but the M2 has 5 microphones whilst the M4 only has 4
where can i buy a new m2 ??
here i am still stuck with my ipad air 1 :(
Clearly if you are an artist making money or you just have money to spend the new M4 Pro is the better choice, but otherwise get with the new iPad Air m2 or do what I did and save some cash on the iPad Pro m2. I got the 12.9" iPad Pro m2 w/256gb for $875 + Pencil 2nd gen for $80 and the Magic Keyboard via Amazon revised for $130 for a total price of $1080. And I can do 98% of what the new iPad Pro m4 can do. YEP!
At that point the extra 200 is worth it
Hey what’s that charging cable called?
Based upon the two M4 models one with 512 MB and the 1T unit which is the best Value Vs Performance. The 1T unit didn’t seem too much faster.
You are right, I got the 1TB mainly to future proof but the user isn't going to see much difference now other than more storage.
@@FFCOACHDANstorage and RAM
It's completely useless spending so much money on a expensive tablet which has limitations of softwares.
Better to invest the same money in M3 MacBook pros & use the benefits of all power to its fullest.
Fr, laptops provide way more utility
Pretty much only good for artists at this point
Which one is the better Subway Surfers device?
I am very happy with my old iPad Pro 13’’m2 !
I get that the new screen is great because of the color, but I have the m2 11 Inch ipad pro and never use a higher brightness than half of the possible brightness. My eyes hurt when I look at a screen which is brighterband I use it mostly at home😅 So for me the hype over the screen peak brightness isnt understandable😂 I cant watch a movie while burning my eyes out. I'll stay with my old ipad pro. The display is great enough and I like the better white tones and cool undertone. OLED always changes the whites too much in my opinion
Will iphone 16 have its own specific AI features? Or will all models running tge new ios updates will get the update? Cause i am in a conflict on whether to buy 15 or wait for 16
The chip will be called A18 but be a close relative to M4 in terms of AI capabilities
Wait which one is bigger because the 12.9 inch look bigger then the 13 inch .
Got the 11” m2 ipad pro brand new for $670. I am not sure if this is a great deal.
Yes it is great device even 2024. İt is still better than ipad air m2 and cheaper than m4.
@@BBdgn nice thank you.
@@tony.cortez if you got it recently and you’re still in the return window why don’t you just take it back and get the M4?
The 512 gb has 4k video recording unlike the 256gb which is locked at 1080p
Excellent comprasion, thanks
You NEED to turn off ambient mode on UA-cam to get the nice black bars. That’s how you get lost in the content
Is it worth upgrading from iPad Air M1 to M4 Pro considering i use it basically as a laptop? Bought the Air only a year ago, but the M4 iPad looks like a big improvement over my iPad
No if you are just a casual consumer
@shashi36 i just myself more comfortable using the iPad through mu whole life. I don’t do anything complex that could require a laptop, just some university/work stuff, youtube and some games. I mean the jump in specs from M1 Air to M4 Pro is huge, only thing that bothers me is that i bought it just a year ago😂
@@MrVovarogozin you wouldn't need to upgrade from m1 to m4 right now , my brother has iPad Pro m1 and he brought it 3 years ago and it still works like a new one , you might wait for another iPad Air or pro release to upgrade . Probably save money for the new iPad Pro with m5 which will probably launch in 2 years . till then iPad Air m1 would still work pretty well
@@adityafincon584 I actually don’t think the performance is any bad, but the battery somehow degraded to 85% in a year and it dies really fast during a day
I've been waiting for the new Magic Keyboard and apple pencil for a long time. And after the release, both of them do not support ipad pro m2. Why apple why
Hi, so for how much longer do you think apple will keep supporting the M2 chip. Thanks.
At least another 5 years easily.
I love the m4 sm
Please what’s the name of the Game you played at the ending of the video 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Resident Evil 4 😊
The m4 microphone quality is miles better than on the m2
Even though only four studio quality microphones versus five? That surprised me.
Name: Midnight glow
Use the sunset colors as inspiration.
What does the M4 Pro do that the M1/M2 can’t? Is there a functional difference other than just the speed bump?
why need to that thin? dont mind bit width but weigh less
I just picked up the m2 512 wifi/cellular unlocked from Best Buy. 800 bucks to upgrade from my iPad Pro 2nd gen 256. the screen cracked on the old one. they want 500 just to fix the screen. it would be nice to get the M4, but not spending another 600 bucks for the privilege of the nicer screen I am content with it
My M1 is just doing just fine
Apple pencil pro is only compatible with the new M 4 iPads pro because of the sensors built into the screens that don’t exist into the previous versions of the pro iPads. The word pro used to denote all the features and tech built into this version of the Apple Pencil .
Thanks but I'll keep my 3 year old ipad which works perfectly for my needs.
Watching this made me not regret getting the glossy 11 iPad Pro M4😊
Lmao brokie couldn’t afford the 13 inch and u still wasted your money LMAOO
Thanks you and ipad pro
Excellent video! I so much wanted to see the value in the upgrade but like you said still IPAD OS maybe WW release to make it worth it.
macOS shouldn’t be on the iPad because that’s not the iPad mission
@@sammyjammy6647 True but a little more to take advantage of an M4 at least 🤣
if you have the old keyboard. just buy the new one and return the old one in the new box and stick it you your fav retailer. I do it all the time.
Should have a video about m2 air vs m2 pro ipads
slight screen change with a lil fancy word, nano.
You really need to compare the speakers between the 2017 model 12.9 iPad Pro and the new ones. they definitely don't sound as good. they're getting worse not better
Thank you!
