Track Testing in a 1UZ V8 Lexus IS300 Drift Car Built for Competition!

- Welcome back! Today I had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of Fisch Racing Tech's 1UZ and 6-Speed CD009-Swapped Lexus IS300! What you're about to witness is a colorful attempt at drifting on track for the first time by yours truly. Full of mistakes and terrible hand movement, it's clear the driver to car ratio was WAY off today haha. I'll accept that. But it was worth a shot! Not linking corners yet, but what I did begin to learn with this setup (more than some other forgiving cars I've driven) is extremely precise throttle control. I was trying to control the slide way too much with my hands rather than with my right foot. Although crashing the car on the first run did taint the rest of my day a bit, and thus this video isn't exactly what i'd hoped it would be for you guys, I'm excited to get back out there! At least it was a bumper and not thee entire car.
Less throttle on entry dont worry about saving the drift when starting out just practice figure 8s, donuts etc to get a feel for how the car slides
Not even big on drifting, but build wise this is my kind of madness, and taste. Truly outstanding Build! 1UZ for life! 🤘And it looks like the car handles the thrashing well.

That is ONE of the holy relics passed to us by My lord savior, Big Chichis Kiichiro Toyoda respect on his name. As when in 1947, he hand forged the Cressida (and my LS400), the 22R, the JZ and the UZ completing the holy trinity from reclaimed Samurai swords WITH HIS BARE FISTS. EvEn turning the High quality Nippon steel Into aluminum and even plastic As he saw fit. He also hand forged many other much faster Relics of unmatched prestige! He did this for us, because he had a dream and he knew.... 🙏

I would have loved if he explained what was done to the engine though. I know built 1UZs can rev to insane numbers (12k in speed boats). A reliable 8k isn't uncommon for a stock 1UZ. But 8.6K would be pushing it, so I'm assuming it's had some work?
Remeber back in 2003 Rod Millen built the IS430 with a V8 from a GS. Was my dream car at that time.

Man don't feel too too bad..things happen.years ago I was working at a performance shop and I had just did a turbo engine swap into a 2000 Subaru 2.r.s. and since we were installing a FMIC anyway the customer had us install this crazy expensive dry carbon front bumper we waited like 5 months for lol anyway fast forward to the weekend..I was going to mid-ohio raceway for a HPDE and this customer was also there with his Impreza.... Well short story long he kept asking for me to take his car out so I could tell him what I thought... honestly just think he wanted me to offer to let him drive me car..but idk. Well my boss who was splitting the paddock with me kinda was like dude go drive his car and I said fine ok even tho I didn't really want to....well I take it out it was really feeling good.... Suspension was dead on... Tires were new R comp's that I made him a killer deal one because I decided to go wider after I had bought them...anyway lap 4 I'm only playing not trying to go all 10\10ths or anything but decided to go wide open down the back straight...all good brakes felt ok but I did think ...he needs to upgrade the brakes I'm gonna finish this lap and go in ...well good thing I decided to kinda cool the car down drive slower ect because I lost all the brakes!!!! everything..all gone .. again I'm not going real fast but too fast for the next corner with no brakes lol go off into the gravel and absolutely demolished that bumper... Talk about feeling like an entire ass lol
I pulled up to the paddock....told him what happened... Threw him my keys and I changed the map to a low boost map and we both drove my car the rest of the day .... I felt so bad lol

@Roads Untraveled There's nothing wrong with the 1UZ v8, they're cheap, can make good power with Toyota reliability. Watch videos from Supercarsuspects, kris has many LS 400 and SC 400 swing it with the v8.
