Recently, Fisch Racing was kind enough to allow me to take their 1UZ V8-swapped Lexus IS300 out onto the street for a quick drive after indulging in some sideways fun a few months ago out at Mission Raceway. The only difference: we filled the nitrous tank this time! This 1UZ makes 290whp "all motor" and 380whp with spray. That's a fairly significant bump in power, especially when the car is holding massive angle halfway through a corner. In addition to a number of drift-specific products, Fisch Racing builds bell housing adapter kits for the CD009 to Rotary, UZ, JZ, LS, and soon RB engine applications. Enjoy!

The first ISF prototype WAS this car. They took a first gen IS300 chassis and put a 1UZ in it as a test. That formula is literally the first “F” thing Toyota ever did!
You got the engine mixed up, it was a 4.3L 3UZ-FE and they called it the IS430 for SEMA.

You gave me an idea and swapping my is250 with a 1uz or Ls and all I gotta do next is put is-F bumpers, exhaust and stronger drivetrain to handle the torque.

Thats smart how he set up the nitrous to only hit at 90%+ throttle. That way he can still manage his traction in times he needs to steer the car with the rear, then BAMM all the beans.

This build is AMAZING. I have a 1UZ IS300 aswell, have been making videos on it, mannn this high revving V8 is like an angel sent from Japanese gods. I'd love to make mine be high revving aswell, mine revs to 6500 RPMS.
How much did it cost to build?
Hit up all4swaps and tell them what you want. Send them your ECU and when you get it back you'll be satisfied.
Can it bumped to 7500 RPM redline with stock internals?
@@Joshua_N-A it can, but it won't make any more power up there. They usually make peak power right around 6k. Cams and springs would be ideal for anything above factory redline. 7500 seems to be the safe limit for stock bottom end and intake manifold.

The end of this reminds me of being in the 350z comings home from a the river with a shit load of L on me this last spring. Came up to an intersection with a cop sitting at it, and waited a second for him to go.. he waved us by then whipped out like he thought we were going to run ,then tailgated us a good 6 miles down the road until we finally turned. I’ll never forget that feeling in my stomach..

Sick build!! One safety question though. The shoulder harness belts..shouldn't they be at a more level angle? I've read that the angle it is currently at can collapse the spine in an accident.

3uz and 1uz vvti essentially make just about the same horsepower. Both have skinny rods. Essentially just the same engine except different bores.

There was itb kits for some time. I think some folks have fit what you say to these engines

Hartley engineering in NZ has kits available from memory. They produce 500+ n/a UZ motors for racing applications.

In some levels of drifting it’s required to help judges determine wheel speed, I.e when you’re on/off the brakes. Otherwise ita just aesthetic

Does anyone have any tips when driving in the snow with these rear wheel drive cars? I know winter tires and adding weight to the trunk will assist traction with the wheels, but I was curious about your guy's opinions and suggestions based off experiences. 😅 There's a 2001 Lexus IS 300 being sold near me for 3k, but I do live in a state that snows too.
I've never driven one in the snow, but first is always an aggressive snow tire. Tires are #1. Other than that and the weight in the trunk, i'd say budget for two cars if you can. One summer, one winter :D
Bring tire chains made of metal if you feel you may get stuck in snow when driving cars that aren't 4 wheel drive and lifted.
Don’t wreck an is in the snow but they have a snow mode and they do pretty well for rear wheel drive but I would not buy if you plan on it being your only car
Depends on how much snow. I live in the PNW and I drove in all seasons in a SC400 for a couple winters. Extra weight in the rear helps. Just drive for the conditions and you will be fine. My only issues was starting and "beaching" on high snow, a little more momentum solves that. Snow tires are highly highly recommended. All seasons 'work', but winter tires are obviously king on the snow.
Get a cheap winter beater! Salt destroys these is300’s pretty quick!
why do people bother importing soarer's and Aleeza's when you can get the Lexus versions for like a 3rd of the price with the steering wheel on the correct side?
Not sure about Soarer but the Altezza is nearly 300lbs lighter than an is300. That's all engine, transmission and I believe the frame is slightly different to meet safety standards.
Nice is300 just needs some ls400 front calipers, they look awesome on the is300 and there budget friendly. I'm looking to do a ls400 with ar5 transmission(pontiac solstice) in the future so this is great content.
I miss my 93 ls400 got it with only 86k miles from an old lady in Kansas then my gf crack head ass dad flipped it so now it's trashed still runs tho

@@williamstrese4947 the ls was one of my options and seems like a great engine but decided to go 1uzvvti. It's my main daily so I wanted to keep it toyota and I've had really good reliability with my toyota engines.

It doesn't make 290 through the wheels, it's around 280-290 bhp, the US always over inflate their numbers, this car just needs a turbo
Something about the all motor setup is just satisfying.
Also, it has had some head work and other stuff done to the engine so I’m sure it does make 290 to the wheels without nitrous. It’s not a stock engine

Maybe because cars are more than power numbers. Engine characteristics and power delivery. He slightly touches on how, in his experience LS felt unresponsive compared to this 1UZ. Standard 2jzge require a lot of work to hold 550 and when you're at that power level on a turbo car they just aren't as responsive as a NA or Supercharged V8.
