Easily my all time fav version of Proudest. RIP Hugh.
My blood pressure drops significantly when I listen to this music. Positive vibes.
Absolutely
👻[hÜg]💗
Making music can’t get anymore joyful than these guys seem to be making this music. A moment in time of pure musical comradrie magic.
Dave Matthews brings with his band qualities from all over the world. Playing together with Hugh Masekela brings out the powerful gentleness and grace. Not many Americans carry such qualities. Phenomenal energy for good.
Dave is a Native of South Africa
My dad's favorite song of DMB. Miss him so much. Love you, Pops
Understand may he RIP peacefully
Whenever I have a panic attack I think of the first time I heard this nearly 2 years ago and remember that I'm alive and can get through whatever I'm anxious about.
seriously.... it's all good. I can put this on after a terrible day at work and I'm back where I need to be.
ABSOLUTELY
Relax. Breathe
Matt I’m with you brother
Applies for today
Rest in peace Hugh Masekela. Such a treat to hear you on this track. Amazingly graceful. Thank you.
Jam with the angels Mr Masakela. Much respect for your talent and life.
Everyone on planet earth needs to come listen to this in 2021. Music heals the soul.
This is the greatest version of this I have ever heard
Hugh just brought so much of himself to this. Wonderful talent. Will be missed!❤
It’s hard to believe this video has been here for 10 years. Over the last 8 years I’ve grown, lost people, gained people, experienced life. I revisit this occasionally and feel the same emotions I’ve felt listening for the first time. I hope wherever you are that you’re doing well and know no matter what happens we’re all in this journey together. Peace be with you all.
Tim absolutely killed it. Beautiful.
as always!
RIP Hugh - Thank you for adding this beautiful part to my favourite DMB song.
My mother is actively dying in hospice and I have this playing on a constant loop..loved this version before and having it being one of the last things she hears makes me smile
my mom died 3 days after my first post..this is our song
May she remain wrapped in God's arms for eternity. Bless you and this wonderful peek into your life. She smiles down on you daily and was proud to be your mother 🙏❤
RIP to your mom. This was a beautiful post.
That’s a beautiful thought!
It's the third anniversary of her passing and I'm absorbing the beautiful comments and balling tears of emotion...thank you to all.
This is how you play the horns you don't overwhelm the rest of the band
I love how smart Dave's band is to constantly give Hugh First duds on the licks!!!!!
Best recording of this song I've heard yet! So real and easy listen!!!
Rest in peace, Bra Hugh. Will never forget this night in Johannesburg.
Absolutely unbelievable! Please receive my gratitude for such a performance! Wow!

Tim Reynolds gained 1000pts of RESPECT here, too.
Just started my day on the Central Coast listening to this beautiful, beautiful rendition of one of my all time favorite DMB songs. Somewhere up there, LeRoi is cracking a smile . . . Thx, guys
Where? I'm in Monterey.
Amazing!!! I listen to this over and over and over.......
Again: One can see the extreme respect and appreciation of the great Hugh Masekela, very easily, through Dave Matthews eyes. And, a lot even, through this video play too.
RIP Hugh Masekela. Thanks for all the beautiful music.
Been listening to DMB since 2000, been to over 50 shows... I don't think I've ever heard anything as beautiful as this version of PM. I've always loved the Gorge '02 version, and there are other decent ones out there, but my god.. wow wow wo
Take me back . Take me back. Take me back to the better days
Holy SHIT, Tim nailed it!
I just stopped working to listen to this song. I might listen to it one more time before going back!
Amazing. DMB with Hugh Masakela. Extraordinary 😎👍🏾
RIP Hugh Masekela
This is beutiful. This is deep with resonance, respect and african melodies of wonderous life. Thank you Dave Matthews Band and Hugh Masekela.
I return to this video often. I love Hugh's take, the space the band gives him, and Dave's reverence for the maestro. Never was a fan of this song until this version. THIS version is possibly my favorite song by the band.
Pure perfection
RIP Bra Hugh Masekela
Absolutely gorgeous. RIP Hugh Masekela.

I think this is the best recording of this song! Such an easy listen!!! DMB rocks! And when guys jam! And the rest of us enjoy!!!!
I’ve been through some hard times and always put on some Dave Mathews and see that smile and jiggle dance and I feel so much better. They carry me away from all the pain. Who needs a Calm app when you have music.
Can I give a zillion thumbs up?? Great music by great talents🎶🎸🎼🎼

There is something to Beauty and Grace. It’s just undeniable.
After 20yrs I can finally say this song doesn't annoy me like it did back then. I found peace and yeah.

Just a pleasure to listen to. Respect to Roi is 👌🏽
We're aware of the phenomenon of Bass face, but here we truly get a glimpse of Dave Face at 5:10. Incredible band. I'd argue it worked for so long because of the joy, sincerity and humanity the oozes from their music. What a thrill.
Gracias por estas rutinas me están ayudando mucho, les escribo desde bolivia
