- The very high grade deposit I found last year is still paying! Mostly fine gold in the minus 20 mesh size under 3-4 feet of material. Wow! Seeing that much gold in the pan after a cleanup is amazing!
(Disclaimer: Results not typical, individual results may vary...) Good hunting Gold bugs! Stay tuned for more Gold Adventures!
I don't do any gold mining, panning or anything that has gold in the title but I found this video extremely interesting just to watch.
Thanks for the education.

This guy got his hands on more gold then most of us ever will, he got to be outdoors, crossing rivers and living life the way a person should. I'm sad he passed away but I envy the way he spent his time.

Excellent! Excellent work! Wonderful attention to detail... far beyond most people's abilities! That's how to capture every possible speck of gold and try to make some money! I'm 52 years old and I've been chasing gold for at least thirty of those years! Details, details, details! Excellence! Wonderful job, sir!
i need a prospecting partner. wats up bro
Looks like a fun retirement hobby.
Thanks for not having music it makes it so much the better to here what your saying ,the place your at looks so much like places we've been to just can't place it ,we live in the rogue Valley, the river has changed a lot since they pulled up the dams.
I Live 5 minutes from the mighty Rogue River I need to get the same setup that this guy has. I like seeing all the golden goodies in that Sledge machine - that stuff will definitely put a smile on your face - I hope you're still around!
Godspeed
He sadly passed away Nov 6th 2016
cant dredge anymore. illegal on the rogue
Sure do miss watching you rake in the shiny! Hope you have a big shiny gold crown to wear! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
That's it! I'm puttin down the fishin rod and gettin the gold pan out.
+fishinsolitude- Best keep that fishin' pole handy, Your gold pan won't payout beans. ;
fishinsolitude and keep the fishing rod just in case
How 'bout ya give me your fishing rod
fishinsolitude this gives me the itch! Lol
Do both....what's better than fishin' and pannin' at the same time......end your day with gold and dinner and a shot of whiskey/shine
Love the fact that you think about your buddy not doing well, and so decide to team dredge with him. Caring is sharing. Good philosophy! :-)
Zero Quanta::: The man said in the video that he sluethed just over an ounce of gold total... so at today's market price of gold being around $1,400 per ounce means he actually made approximately $1,400+. If he does this 5 days a week, he makes $7,000+ a week!!! Not bad money, huh?
But gold isn't easy to find so he may work for weeks, months, or even years without finding a thing, man is lucky and has a good spot
Yunginspirit sadly he died😢
XXPGamerPLAYZ How do you know that?

He did die, I took him to the hospital and he passed away the next day. Nov 9th, 2016.
we found 1 1/2 ounces only panning last year no gas powered equipment in California ,,, i enjoyed your cleanup,,,thanks for sharing ...
That's a nice days wage because U worked for it yourself. I'm 68 and crippled bad so can't get around... worse yet, I live in Alaska where there is gold in your pours when you wash yer face in the creek. Don't take long to get sleep out of eyes that way. When I was a kid, I was down your way.... sadly I can't remember many of the rivers but the Umqua (spelled wrong) and I used to haul logs to Coos Bay and other places. Never got the gold bug till I was too old to do it but I set my grand son up with a couple of excavators and a grizzly that we made. Set the whole thing up on one of my old semi's and it worked for him. He made more by himself than with someone but that's him. I did have one day on the Hoe and we pulled a 29 once one day! Never again... musta been in one bucket full. As round as your nuggets are, they are a coming from some where up the river. I have hit some jagged gold but really it don't count as it was stuck in cat track! Where did it come from.... don't know but we spent some time looking , I know it wasn't in the track long cause I keep my eyes on my tracks as much as possible.
Watching these videos is perfect before bedtime. It relaxes and excites you at the same time. Makes you forget about having a crappy, dull job.
You should keep both the black sand and gold and just forge it and use flux so it is easier to separate.(if there is a little left)
I'm very impressed with your techniques and your dredge.
i always went prospecting with my father as a young boy and i see how to better my chances and outcome in slucing and panning.
thank you very much
It's amazing how men just love the look of gold and the process of finding it, and of course the dinero!
Hi.A little tip. When you are getting down to the back washing.Hold your pan a hair off level.By tapping hard and fast, the black sand will move towards the center of the pan and the gold will stay at the outside.Takes some playing but once you see it working will save you hours of cleanup.Luck Mcbain.

HE PASSED AWAY ALREADY?
I lived in Gold Hill when I was a kid. It was a podunk, run down little town (after Ideal Cement closed down and moved to Seattle) and now it has vineyards and wine tasting rooms. I lived on the Rogue between Rock Point Bridge and Valley of the Rogue. I had some fun times there but it was some real okie times.
Bless you guy. I love to see after hard work that you guys that do the mining get something tangible. I love to watch these shows. I love winners!!!
That superfine gold in the Garrett / green pan is what I deal with. mostly classify to 50 +/-, every thing is of equal size makes easier to pan or run through some other recovery system
Very nice video men. Thanks for good camera work also. Many folks move the camera around too fast but this was great. Nice gold also!!!
Amazing. I live very close to the Rogue, and we often go to the California side to swim in the river. Not when it is that high or fast, but way upstream. Gonna try my luck this coming summer. Just picking around like Pioneer Pauly up in BC. Great vid. Thanks for posting!
I assume this is found pass grants pass in the wild and scenic area?. Most of my time on the Rogue is north of gold hill.
7:40 anybody else see the spider on the pan to the left?

Sorry to hear this fella has passed. What he called "walking" the gold is what I know as the "Blueberry bounce" demonstrated by the late Blueberry John at the GPAA claim in Nome. RIP brothers.
Was his father who passed
love the video, like to learn how i can start doing some gold dredging of my own while I have some strength left on me
@Andre McGoo Bro take a chill pill...no class at all.
Thanks for the entertainment and Congrats on your finds...I'm in California and found a nice place in Big bear and when I got back found it was claimed since the time we were there...needless to say I was very disappointed Good luck in your future endeavors....

Even though you're gone, you still live on what's up big man like pop by here to see you hopefully one day I'll get out, and one day I know I'll get way out there.
you better TELL the feds, so they can tax the shit out of your az. then tell the state so they can tax your az again. so later the state can shut down your operation and say you are harming the fish habitat , so after your gone they can dredge the bottom for gold and they can say that they needed to improve the water way.
pudge isn't that the truth.
They also need to sell you a permit but will be unable to sell it to you because they are closed for a paid holiday or on paid vacation.
pudge Unfortunately for those of us who actually enjoy utilizing the publicly owned lands of this huge country you are correct. Of course that also depends on whether or not you kept up with the legal changes and were able to get a dredger's permit because all government agencies avail their people and services to us 24/7 right?
No wait, they only have the employees with those instant tax plans they call uniform citations available after hours, on weekends and on holidays.
Become a sovereign, they don't pay fees, permits or any other BS regulations imposed by a corrupt corporate government.
They are also some of the most delusional people on the planet, quoting chapter and verse of old laws that don't apply anymore.
I just happen to fall upon this video by chance and was hooked...what a great video, what a great guy. I would liketo try this in the UK but it would take me 5 years what you collected in a day.
That is the experience of most small time gold prospectors.

I got an oz. a day with my 3 in. Keene back when you could dedge for gold in Oregon. I was just above the last bend above Gold hill above Gold city. Got some nice little nuggets too,
What is a "penny weight"? What's wrong with using measures like ounces, grams?
Apparently a pennyweight is a 20th of an ounce, and there are 24 grains in 1 pennyweight. Small imperial measurements like this are used by jewelers in the US, but more often than not they are also using grams.
@Andre McGoo No shit! I was just saying the same thing. In the time it took to ask, they could have looked it up twice!
People are so stupid..and then so lazy. We are doomed. You can bet it's gonna breed a fat, stupid, less than average, kid or three.
Dude, I thoroughly enjoyed that vicarious experience! Thank you!
Wow that was so interesting to watch him. Never even thought about this. I haven't skipped the video once. Well done. How much is that worth?
Max 1.5 grand
Today it was worth $887. The price of gold flucuates though.
It depends on the gold price fix and what percentage of that the gold refiner will pay.
I prefer to sell my gold to jewelry makers, especially the coarse stuff. I can often get more than the gold fix price.
@Ty Uknow Notice that I sell the coarse nuggets to jewelry makers. Depending on size, they often pay far higher than spot for raw nuggets - and pay as if they were fine gold.
Take some of your placer nuggets to a custom jewelry maker and try bargaining. I think you will be surprised how much you can get - especially for the larger nuggets.
Excellent presentation. Your conveyance of the details was appreciated.
with gold at over $1000 an ounce, and he got over an ounce in a day...
how tf do you not just go there every day until its dry?
Unfortunately he passed away a year or two ago
I heard from a coin seller that gold is over two thousand per ounce
I creamed my jeans when I saw the size of the golden your pan. Then I cried when I realized you meant the Rogue River on the other side of the country from me...
not sure if you check these anymore but, I am from Oregon, near the rouge and wanted to see if you could share any good spots for me to check out with a sluice box and a pan.
would love to pick your brain sir.
Sorry TN but I was strictly underwater, no pan and sluice for me so I have no idea where on the Rouge one might do some panning. The enviroNazis shut Oregon dredging down this year so I sold my dredge. Bastards.
+The Handegard I'm going to grab my balls and take my god given rights and hand dredge the crap out of oregon! this land is my land too ;)
hope you made out good on your gear
congrats on your gold! Come to Chile and let's dredge the Gold Spaniards did not trap....the bedrock is the limit.

i'm down on the columbia river & sandy river meet portland area, i've never panned or looked for gold but i see people are doing ok. great video
Excellent video keep up the good work, where is the location that you're doing this, you might have said it but I missed it thank you
Robert lucas - Don't know the exact location, but here is info. about the Rogue River, Oregon, from Wikipedia --- Belts of plutons, which contain gold and other precious metals, run through the Klamaths and include the Ashland pluton, the Grayback batholith east of Oregon Caves National Monument, the Grants Pass pluton, the Gold Hill pluton, the Jacksonville pluton, and others.[26] Miners have worked rich deposits of gold, silver, copper, nickel, and other metals in several districts of the Klamaths. Placer mining in the mid-19th century soon led to lode mining for gold. Aside from a mine in eastern Oregon, the Greenback Mine along Grave Creek, a Rogue tributary, was the most productive gold mine in Oregon.[27]

Penny weight?????? How Much is it Worth. HOW MUCH IS IT WORTH?????? God, why do people even make videos if they don't give you the information??????????????????
Fist up, Fight for Truth.
Zero Quanta penny wieght is 1/20th of troy oz. Value depends on market value
GOD YOU DIID IT AGAIN!!! AT LEAST GIVE A ROUND ABOUT NUMBER. What, do you think a viewer should go research Penny wieght, then go find the COURRENT value of Gold. THEN figure out ounces to Penny. Viewers HATE THAT CRAP. FOR GODS SAKE JUST THROUGH OUT A NUMBER!!
Zero Quanta 1.55 gr=1 penny weight. value per pennyweight is roughly 70-90 dollars, Depending on what the market value is per That Day. It fluctuates daily so you have to find out what market closes out at
THANK YOU! wow, that was like pulling teeth.
Fist up, Fight for Truth..
you know instead of whining about people not giving you information, you could've just googled it and found out in like 30 seconds. Jesus! you people are entitled little brats that have to have everything fed to you!

Don't get caught by the DNR. The Rogue River is listed under the 1994 "Natural River Act" and dredging is categorically prohibited in all 16 of the "Natural Rivers" named in that act.
Thanks for sharing the video. I have never been panning and want to go so bad. I hope to get to go pan some day and learned a lot off your video. I didn't get to see you actually dredging I would love to learn that do you have a video to show me on you diving and dredging

When you're weighing it, if you put the vial or small container on the scale before turning it on, you don't have to zero it out. I know it only saves 1 click.. But, yeah.
thanks awesome river, really interesting i will look back at your vids
Gotta be a long term solution to fighting the current coming and going? Beginning of season drive an anchor stake above the section you wanna work then swing into your work area and same setup for the float back to shore? I know, I know, if you wanna find an easier way to do something give the task to a lazy person cause they will definitely figure it out 😆
Alabama and Georgia gold is some of the purest gold out there.
20 Penny Weights = 1 Troy Ounce. A troy ounce is 31.1 grams. As a side note. a "U.S. Penny" weighs about 2.5 grams.
