  • Join Shane Thombs and Mark Penner for an action-packed day of trolling for salmon on Lake Ontario! We set out from Port Dalhousie early in the morning and arrived just in time to hit the salmon hot spots. The fish were biting, and we quickly reached double digits!
Watch as we share effective tactics for catching spring coho salmon, and check out the surprise Atlantic salmon that made an appearance.

So right about the weather. On Lake Michigan where I fish it’s been windy and windier day in and day out.😮

If you're using white diamonds for wire, you're gonna cut your guides on big kings. I did last season on lake michigan to 4 of them.

Must be a Canadian rig, judging from the Scotty downriggers.

This makes me sad as we are at the end of the season now :( Great video. Is that a 42nd Atomick fly on your "7 oclock rig"? Whats your preferred leader length behind a spin doctor?

So unfortunate, but it was a great year. I think the fly might have been something closer to chartreuse-possibly the Green Hammer UV. They usually run those about 36" behind the flasher to give them a nice whip.
