Thanks for the great video, I like your method of the rubber band for the cheater. I’m struggling to understand how it works and your video was just a little quick for me to see. Does the rubber band break? Letting the swivel down to the main line lure? If so what kind of bands are you using and have you ever had a small fish not break it? Or what am I missing. Thanks
Just a suggestion : After almost 20 years of fishing Lake Ontario running Line Out Charters starting in 1986 I decided to stop using treble hooks and switched to single hooks. After several seasons I decided to use barbless single hooks for two reasons: 1. less damage to the fish. 2. easier to un-net the fish. Regardless of lure,Spoons, plugs, flies, there was less tangle in the the net. When the bite is on eg; the Niagara Bar in May it was not uncommon to have four plus hook ups at the same time The Chinese fire drill is less hectic if un-netting the fish is quicker. If the treble hook tangles the net then that net is out of action until untangled. My daughter Marta took a 41.5 lb King on a different boat than mine in 1983(Buckaroo) off Point Breeze with Captain Ron. Lake Ontario has some great fishing.
Nice release on that first fish; too many folks damage those by netting and/or manhandling taking out the hooks. That fish survived! I’ve got to get over there and do some fishing with you. Back in the day, my good friend Capt Dick Hampson ran charters out of Sodus Point (he was a retired NY State Trooper). He and his wife Margaret lived on a farm near Wolcott, God rest both of their souls. Very nice job on the video! Thanks
Good chance they are just in a neutral, not biting, mood and spook away from your gear. You could also try changing up bait, color, or scent and see how they react
to be honest, I kinda hate the pics where the guys grab them by the tail.... the fish look a lot smaller.. I want to see the tail.. I want to see the entire fish. The photos look better to me. I always say, don't hold it like a gun, hold it like a fish

Thank you for the feedback! Book a trip with Rick, you won't be disappointed!
Obviously y’all fished different spots than when we’re there. 😂😂
What causes a fish to swim to the bottom away from your presentation when you troll over them? I was getting a lot of that the few times I was out
