Mission accomplished. No skunk and got your female for skein. Not easy fishing alone, sometimes gets hectic trying to land fish with riggers still down but you got it done. Not many fish around on the screen but soon enough they will start staging and find them in bunches. Well done out there.
I never has a fish hawk till this year and more than the temp I use the speed at depth. It’s amazing how strong those currents can be down there and it’ll greatly increase your bites! I recommend
What I do for steering on a similar setup is use my trolling motor with the Heading Lock feature to do the steering for me while my outboard does the pushing and you can also use the trolling motor speed to slightly adjust your trolling speed too. I don't need to touch the steering wheel all day and troll straight lines without needing to watch the maps.
Cool idea. My bowmount doesn't currently have the spotlock, but you can convert it over for like $400 with a new head. I will probably do that eventually. Thank you for watching and commenting 👊
one spoon u should get is a silver streak by wolverine tackle in magnum size called chilly goose. silver plated with a chartreuse and lime edge on one half with silver on other with crush glow tape over it with an orange eye. I caught my biggest boat king ever on it. I cant be a 100% certain on spoon mongoose could also be the spoon basically same spoon but no crush glow just a bright silver spoon with lime chartreuse on one half. o good bright sunny day lure high in water column . good luck took a few minutes looking up actual name hope u appreciate it

@@MudSharkZ do you use the main engine with the sock or have a kicker with the sock? I have an 18 ft crestliner and the evinrude i run wifh a 5 gallon bucket got me down to 2.4 to 2.5 mph.
@@Burnout4424 I run the main engine (90 HP Yamaha 4 stroke). With one sock I can get it down to 2.3 mph. I usually try to run 2.3 to 2.5 when fishing kings. I don't have a kicker. My boat is 17.5', probably similar in weight to yours.
I didn't want to like that spoon either because it's so ugly, but it made a believer out of me as well. On a cloudy day when the kings are deep, it will pop off all day long. Just something about it...
What size boat are you running? I've been wanting to try my Lund rebel 16 foot out of Mexico point on calm days southwinds. I have not fished for salmon so I found your video to be quite informational. Your commentary it's quite useful to me.
@@dennisedwards8954 Mine is 17.5' but I used to do it with a 15' semi-v jon boat so your boat should work fine. Just try to get a couple downriggers setup but flat lines can be very effective in the spring and fall. Here's another video of us fishing stick baits on inline planer boards from last year: ua-cam.com/video/Je5WxBNjiQQ/v-deo.html
@@MudSharkZ I have one manual mini downrigger to get me down 100 ft - minus blowback, and various size dipsy divers. Will use what I have and give it a crack. Adventures at my old age!
I don't have a lot of practice landing them by myself, but yeah maybe that would be easier. Running light leaders always makes me a bit hesitant to hand line them.

Still a lot of fish hangin in 80' to 100' down here. Planning on hitting the pier first time this weekend. Packin the backpack full of moonshines 😁
Wow amazing 🎉.
Fishing on the beautiful lake so be happy.
Thanks for your sharing
Nice job landing that beast solo!
Thanks, it wasnt easy 😁

I might get one one of these days. I agree 100% that it's the speed at depth that is the most critical.
@@MudSharkZ sometimes I had to go slow as 1.4 or fast as 4.2! Insane currents. Good luck and happy fishing

Nice work! Always a challenge on a solo trip. What kind and size of boat do you have? Thanks
17.5' Starweld with a 90 HP 4 stroke Yamaha. I love it.
What size drift sock do you use

@@MudSharkZ thanks. I was using buckets but the drift sock would be better
@@Burnout4424 Yeah they work great and really aren't too expensive.

I didnt believe in carbon 14. I put it out the other day for the first time and caught a king. Im firmly a believer now.

I think you would have a much easier time if you got the fish writhing 15 feet then hand lined it to the net
