Absolutely LOVE my ego so far! Best mower I've ever used by far. You are basically just holding a button and walking to mow your lawn. It's super lightweight and durable. The frame feels like a tank...literally. it better last for 600$. As long as you take good care of it, it should hold up. Brushes right off with a broom when you are done & easily stored in a small space.
Ego is starting to really get competition, so I hope they keep trying to improve. I saw a Toro 60V at Home Depot for sale yesterday, with a steel deck for $500. Dewalt and Milwaukee have string trimmers and blowers, etc. Since I'm already invested in the Ego ecosystem, I'll stick with them as long as they keep performing like they do. But they need to stand out with new customers.
I just bought this mower AND the trimmer last weekend. I couldn't believe how quiet it was. The cuts were better than my old and tired gas mower it replaced. There's a section in my side yard that I always had to slow down or even jutter step to get the gas mower to not bog down and stall. Not with this mower! I could hear the motor picking up speed in this section to compensate. I never slowed down and the cuts are beautiful! 1 battery lasted my whole yard. The trimmer has a 2.5aH battery and it also lasted the whole yard. I am thoroughly impressed with this system of yard tools.
This it might sounds crazy but i wish the all foldable mowers for storage should have some kind of like a wheel so when they are folded instead of picking them up to move them around in the garage we should be able to roll them like a dollies i don't know if mower companies have think about that i think it would be a gd future in them

@@gmeister03 like any mower, everyone's mileage may vary. I had the original EGO mower with 4ah battery, if I mowed once a week it was great. Mowing once a month was not an option though, the grass would be too long and the machine would overheat after about 10 minutes.

This comment was made for technical accuracy. I like EGO products and own six myself (mower, trimmers, blower, hedge trimmer, chain saw, 6 years of use). While the sales department is guilty of misrepresenting the operating costs of EGO vs ICE tools and theirs reluctance to provide full specification (especially KW ratings and physical description of the internals) EGO corporation’s innovation and continual improvement lead me to continue to make EGO my go-to source for power lawn equipment. I hope in the future EGO makes a trolling motor and a riding lawnmower. The requirements of a rider might necessitate a higher voltage battery line or they might continue by placing two of their great 51 VDC batteries in series (I’ll leave that to the engineers 😎).
Spot on comment on the Brushless Motor Vincent. Can I ask you, after 6 years using EGO tools, are you finding any reduction in either the run time or the power of the batteries due to decrease in battery capacity?
Shane Odekirk they should definitely consider offering one. You could buy an aftermarket and attach it but they have weight to them which would cut your battery time down significantly.
So why can I get mower, charger and 7.5 AH battery for around 600 Canadian dollars but if I want an extra battery it's 500 dollars.......batteries should not exceed the cost of a bare tool especially not by 2 or three times.
How do you figure? Based on manufacturing costs? Physical size? What makes the battery, a remarkable feat of science and engineering, packed with expensive materials, and assembled with critical accuracy and tech, cost less than some plastic, metal, and a pair of blades?
So, a Toro SuperRecycler is about the same price, MUCH higher build quality and no battery charging shenanigans. I'll be honest, I'm probably their target customer as my yard is tiny but at this price, I'd buy another Toro.
@@wojtek-33 Everything? For one, the Toro SuperRecycler has a steel deck. Though, to be accurate, I wasn't complaining about the build quality so much as pointing out that you get a LOT more for your money, buying the Toro. Also, the run time on the Ego would likely be fine for me during the regular mowing season but when it comes to bagging leaves there is no way the Ego could keep up with my Toro.
@@wojtek-33 So what if Honda sold their customers a plastic deck? I went with the Toro because, honestly, it's the better mower. Also, the Toro engine is superior to the Honda as it is full pressure lubricated where the Honda is splash lubricated. I have an M18 blower/trimmer combo but I did without them for many years. I also have a pile of M18 and M12 tools so being able to share packs made sense. If I could go back in time, I might have gone Makita 18v instead.

He comes across as a slightly sleazy saleshole!!
Non self propelled? forget it!
Did Toys R Us make a lawn mower now?
I start existing about this EGO lawnmower. I'm going to Home depot to check it out!
Do not purchase an Ego before checking the location of the nearest service facility. They do have wiring problems caused by folding the handle.
You can't even buy these anymore. They are out of stock everywhere in the southeast.
Oh,you’re the big dog? $699 for a push mower regardless of motor is insane!!!😡
$599 at home depot. I bought one last week amazing. I was truely amazed, love it.
My mom had a HRA217 and I pushed it around for at least a decade so when it came time for me to buy a mower, I seriously considered the Honda.
I have an M18 blower/trimmer combo but I did without them for many years. I also have a pile of M18 and M12 tools so being able to share packs made sense. If I could go back in time, I might have gone Makita 18v instead.
@@prototype3a I'm guessing you work for Toro.....As someone who was in this industry for years..I can tell you, a Toro motor is NOT better then a Honda motor, and that I have had to repair many Toro metal decks... I sold a Toro Super Recycler and bought a Honda. Neither of those mowers is up to the Challenge of this mower. I'm not sure how pushing a button to remove the Battery is a "shenanigan".... I'd say that, changing oil, buying Gasoline, and prepping for winter storage, is a much Bigger Shenanigan......LOL
Sonny Dryer I’d want to test the cut quality of this compared to my Honda. It’s not perfect, but it’s still good to great most of the time. If I spend $600 for a mower, I want it to be a GREAT mower.
Here comes stupid Capitalism again. The first generation Ego is outstanding! So why the heck do you need the newer mowers? The answer is....to waste your money!
is too dam expensive
You ever heard the term you pay for what you get
