Watched this video and others for the EGO Select Cut about 10 times before purchasing 09May2020. I felt like an expert while unboxing in front of my neighbors who gathered around to see what's in my driveway. To save battery, I push on flat and down hill, but hit propel a few times uphill. Yes, I was drinking my Coca-Cola while mowing LOL! Thanks for the video!
Have had my EGO mower and string trimmer for several years now. Love them! SOOO nice not having to worry about gas or oil and wonderful to be able to fold up small and stand up in the garage. Also means it’s easy to clean the undercarriage.
I am officially done with gas mowers as of a week ago. Got this 2020 model and very happy with the quality. This EGO company is very different. They actually listen to us when we ask for changes/improvements. I like that. Hoping to add the string trimmer to my arsenal next. Great video, enjoyed it.
Been using EGO for a year now. Getting older and wear out before starting the job fighting to start a gas powered mower. Really enjoy the EGO mower and weedeater. Haven't bit the bullet on the chainsaw and hedge trimmer yet.
Yes, Love my Ego power tools. I have the mower, weed trimmers, edger, hedge trimmer, blower and chainsaw. Awesome power, I have sold almost all my old gas powered equipment now. I don't miss gas at all!
I went EGO mower and blower one month ago and love it. It's so quick and easy to use the lawn is mowed weekly now in a fraction of the time and coming into Autumn the driveway and car are blown clean of leaves daily in under a minute. I used the mulcher plug today to trim the grass and clean up fallen leaves and there are no signs of the cuttings/leaves/mulch on the lawn. I now mow without safety glasses and under the clothesline while washing is out drying as the mowing process is so clean with nothing being flung out from under the sides or out the back of the EGO. I will need to wait to show off to my father with this Covid-19 thing going around he won't be visiting for a while but when I next visit him I'll be packing the blower in the car for show and tell. :) Need I say this gear is highly recommended.
Been on the EGO platform since the beginning. Just ordered the 10 amp hour battery and a backpack. Have a self propelled mower that only goes slow with the handle extended, but will go fast with the handle retracted. Have a leaf blower, hedge trimmer, multi tool motor with lawn edger, string trimmer and cultivator attachments, as well as a chainsaw. They all work very well. The first mower I had got ruined on a cast iron clean out. There were no service centers at that time, so they sent me a new one at no charge. Needless to say I have been impressed with the company.
Fun video! I love all my EGO outdoor lawn care tools! I tell everyone that gas is gone. The EGO battery power is the lead dog these days! Mowing is fun again. It’s so much easier for children-of-age to use the battery powered equipment. Also much better for our lungs not breathing in all that small engine exhaust. Also much quieter. I think that’s why there’s lights on the front: you won’t bother your neighbors if you mow late in the evening.
Awesome review! I am already using EGO for all my mixed gas tools trimmer, edger, blower. These tools are outstanding, I am glad I chose EGO, I am considering jumping all in with a mower and snow blower!
Bought an ego carbon fiber weed eater 2 yrs ago. With the 5 ahr battery I get a straight 1hr worth of cutting. Plus it saves my hearing from tinnitus which gets worse as you get older when exposed to loud noise :-( I highly recommend ego!
EGO!! Please make a mower that will mow below 1”. Preferably a cylinder/reel mower. Your mowers and batteries are amazing, just need lower deck height. Great vid Vince.
Just purchased that mower today. The one with two blades. I love it I will never buy a gas mower again. The purchase price was $600 at Home Depot and it’s worth it. I have a 1:30 acre lot and it only used half of the battery for the first cut of the season.
I grabbed an ego leaf blower with a 5ah battery last fall. It was on sale and cheaper than the gas one I was looking at with more cfm and airspeed. Don't regret it one bit. Hour or so of blowing, hour long charge. Ill blow the leaves away from the house and everything in the yard. Plug the battery in and hop on the tractor to mulch up the leaves. I did that once a week this past fall. Come spring time not a leaf in sight, no dead spots from leaves piled up, free fertilizer for the lawn. It just needs to warm up so it'll grow and I can cut the grass. Thinking about replacing my snapper trimmer with an ego battery one. I like having the same battery for everything too, that's why I have a couple of DeWalt XR impact guns and drills.
That's my next blower when I can afford it. I got a big yard with lots of messy trees. EGO tools look like they're excellent tools and screw gas nowadays
Bought one yesterday and used it for the first time. I'm impressed so far. BTW, it comes with a 7.5 Ah battery (not a 10 Ah), but it is rated to last 60 minutes as shown on your box.
Mine also came with a 7.5Ah battery. I'm not sure why he got a 10Ah. Just so people know, if you have other EGO tools, you likely have 2.5Ah batteries for those. I tested it and those batteries *will* run this mower, but only for like 20 minutes, more if you don't use the self-propelled feature. So far, I love this mower. I particularly like how quiet it is. It sounds like fan, not a mower.
I don't have the newest mower but I have the previous model and love it. I have the trimmer as well. It's easy on the ears and works just as good as my gas mower without all the hassles and smells of the gas mower.
I want an EGO mower! It looks super easy to use. Spring is just around the corner, 4 months away. I currently have a Weed Eater 10+ years old and a John Deere X540 currently in the shop for repairs.
It might be a really good idea to share with your viewers how to safely use this terrific electric EGO lawn mower. Start with don't use it in a garage/non-turf areas where you do not know if there's debris that can kick up and could cause harm or a laceration. I believe that you have well swept your shop/production area to show us this, but a lot of people may attempt to do this at home that have not. And regardless of age or skill have them wear safety glasses. This is not meant to be a negative criticism, but safety consideration. I'm a big fan of your channel. Have always enjoyed your due diligence on products that you review. Not to mention the intensity and conviction of what you share with us. Thank you and Rock on brother.
I bought my EGo mower a couple of years ago, love it. Ordered a snow blower... what a cluster fook that was... whom ever was delivering it to Home Depot where beating the crap out of them ...but then it never snowed much lol. Also have the edger, trimmer and leaf blower, happy as a lark.
My joisychick and i just bought this mower. One thing to add, is that the self propel feature works without running the blades. :-) P.S. my wife is from Woodbury Heights, NJ
I got this mower a few weeks ago and love it! I have a small patch of grass at the top of my steep driveway, and first thing I tried was using the self-propel feature to get up the driveway without the blade spinning. Brilliant! It did come w the 7.5 battery, and I can do that driveway patch plus smallish front and back yards with three of the five green LEDs on the battery still lit when I’m done. I bought an Ego string trimmer a couple of years ago, so already had a good experience w Ego.
I have the ego backpack blower and trimmer. Just saying the power on that blower. 600cfm. I use it in the winter to blow the snow to clean the sidewalks or off the cars. It’s a Beast!
EGO is the period outdoor battery powered equipment manufacturer period, end of story. There customer service is simply amazing. There number 1 in all reviews for a reason
The More You Bear I replaces my perfectly fine Honda gas mower with the EGO. You won’t regret it. I gave my gas mower to my brother who needed a mower.
The More You Bear, I have all Milwaukee cordless hand tools as well. It’s been so convenient! Milwaukee is a great tool company, but I think the EGO batteries are better designed to supply the much needed power of lawn and garden tools.
Ego is cool, but I went into the Greenworks 80v line, i have the 80v 18" chainsaw, snow thrower, leaf blower, self propelled mower and the attachment capable string trimmer/weed whacker. I'm just a dude who owns a home, they're not overly expensive when you find them on sale and they are all brushless and powerful tools. I particularly love my mower. It bogs less than my old gas mower did in the thicker parts of my lawn.
I love my ego outdoor lawn equipment mower, backpack blower, power head weed eater, and my chain saw. I just order the edger. The best out there just upset that Home Depot is stop carrying them.
Had mine 3 yrs runs and cuts great only boys down on very thick wet grass, no worse than gas. And mine is the older model one blade. Can I put 2 blades on?
Thanks for an informative review. Ego has impressive equipment. I have their Ego 2100, and after two year use bought Ego 2102SP, which I have used for 3+ years. No problem except minor ones, I could repair. Though the self-propelled 2102SP developed a problem of getting stuck at highest self propelled speed. That makes the self propelled feature useless, unless you are young and can run with it. I wish Ego would provide parts and Service manual. But there is zero info available. In my younger days I may have reverse engineered it, but now .... since it is still under warranty, I m hoping I will send it for repair. For me the best deal would have been, replacing my existing machine with the the machine you just reviewed, for which I would have made a payment for the deal. But they of course do not have such an exchange program. 😕
I have a stupid question...I ordered mine and it came with 2 blades installed....I understand the bottom to be a bagging blade and one a mulching blade.....but I'm confused why both are installed from the factory......can they be run this way...if so will the bagger work....thank you
I hope you will do a part 2 and cut damp grass that is at least 6 inches tall. One of the challenges with electric is they get bogged down easily especially at the bottom of a slope
I have an older version of this. Mine is going on it’s third season and it’s working great. Got the blower last year which is good too. Also, I have the trimmer that allows you to switch heads.
I like using one hand, but it's nice to know I can use both hands if I wanna use em. And I really like the new features of this improved model. Also, it's using the same batteries for the newer model as the old, so it's going to be much lighter on the wallet to upgrade. Hopefully you can just buy the unit without the battery and charger like the current model and keep down cost.
I've got the eGO Blower, string trimmer, and hedge trimmer. Each tool came with 2.5 aH battery and a charger. With the three batteries, I have never had any need to stop working while edging and trimming my property. I've owned them for almost 3 years and the batteries are still going strong.
Doesn’t it say right on the box the battery is 7.5Ah? All of the Ego website, Home Depot, and ACE Hardware all say 7.5Ah. Where’d the 10Ah come from? I can’t find a mower kit with a 10Ah battery- can you link? The standalone 10Ah battery says it’s still preorder. Would love to have 10Ah kit. Thanks!
I love my egos I used them all last summer no complaints Even used my blower this past winter on the 3 inches of snow we received in Columbus Ohio Next year I want to get their snow thrower
I'm on the Makita and Ego platform. I think I'm going with the new X4 Makita you reviewed over this EGO. I love my EGO chainshaw and leaf blower, but the EGO batteries are crazy expensive.
EGO: Mower (3 years), hand held blower, back pack blower, string trimmer (2 years), snow blower and, since I have all these batteries, the EGO Power Cell. Hate the string trimmer's cassette cause it is a pain, like them all, to reload so the new unit looks inviting but, I don't think you can retrofit the heads. One feature you didn't mention, or I didn't hear, (and someone else may have chimed in on) is that you can use the self propel function even when the motor isn't running.
EGO mower looks impressive. I was about to run out and buy one until I checked where they are made. EGO gives a clever answer about being a global operation, with R&D in the US. However, manufacturing is in currently done in China. When manufacturing moves to the USA to create jobs for Americans I will buy one. Until then it’s TORO MADE IN THE USA! for me.
Battery powered has come along way, I just a battery powered trimmer and I could not be more impressed, coming from only using gas powered equipment. Awesome video as Always keep the great content coming!!!
Damn good looking mower! I'd really like to see a review on the new Kobalt 2x24v Max self propelled lawn mower as well. There seem to be no reviews on this product yet. They are advertising it as a 48v mower due to the two 24v batteries. I guess I'm wondering if it will be comparable to the 40v max mower in the Long run. Since im in that battery line already and 24v batteries are less expensive replacement or extras. This could be a good option.
The 10amp/h is the 2142 version, which only has a single blade but has 2 battery slots and comes with 2x 5amp battery. This one is the 2135, it has 2 blades, but only 1 battery slot and comes with a 7.5amp/h battery.
Not in any battery ope systems yet, but I'm going to and these vids are what I need to help make an educated choice. Thanks fellas! Hope you having a great day!
Damn I wish I could love ego mowers. I got one a few years ago and it had battery problems. I got on the horn with ego and got a super awesome British man telling me to take it to home depot and theyll repair it for me. I told him it seemed like a battery problem and not a mower problem. He insisted it was the mower based on the color pattern of the battery indicator. The mower was over heating with even short grass. The mower took so long to get repaired (over a month) they decided to send me a new mower after I called 3 times. so I got my mower and the exact same thing happened. So I called ego and they sent me a new battery after another 2 weeks. Then the battery they sent me was reconditioned and not new and guess what.... Same problem. I'm going to sell this thing on Craigslist for whatever someone will pay and I got a Honda mower and it's superior in power, and cutting.
The only complaint I about my Ego is that it doesn't chop up the clippings as well as I would like - even with the upgraded blade. Curious to see how the two blade system works. And wondering if that dual blade works on my one year old Ego.
I like the way the Toro recycler handles switching from mulching to bagging better? But I like the fact that the Ego allows for 1 touch height adjustment....I’m torn!
I'm still waiting for a riding lawn mower... I mean seriously.... ryobi has one. But if they made motors to replace engines say for chipper shredders and the like ... that would be awesome. But i have their snowblower and their backpack blower
Please show us the 10 amp/hr battery as soon as possible. Does EGO sell a 22-24 inch mower? I'd imagine the self propelled feature takes power away from the actual cutting so it will probably run for less time than a non self propelled version. 😉
Yo Vin I got 1 of those at the beginning of the summer. It's not 2 bad the battery lasts an hour but I also have the trimmer & I can use it's battery also. Heavier than u think. The side shoot sux a minute after I put it on it fell off & guess what l ran it over. The self propelled is bad ass. I have a cliff 2 cut & when I kick in the self pro u gotta be ready 2 run it pulls like a horse. At 1st it's weird how quiet it is compared to a gas.
I normally wouldn’t watch the 20 minute video but let me say you are damn entertaining and I enjoyed every minute. I’ve been looking at getting a model like this just want to get a lower blade height is my only concern. If you have any other feedback that would be helpful. Best wishes to you
I’m about 5 years into the 20” EGO push mower. The only problem I have is when grass is a damp, it cakes up totally clogging the underside of the deck. That said, I would still purchase again. Have to string trimmer & hedge trimmer, too. Want a leaf blower next. If your on the edge of making the investment, remember Home Depot has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee policy.
I love the ego family of products I have them all they are wonderful products so reliable I still would prefer a gas powered chainsaw for the power but other than that I love the ego family of products
Im a single mom and just purchased my first home so Im looking to buy this to keep my yard up without having to pay for it thank you so much

Love my ego tools, never going back to gas again
Been on the EGO platform since the beginning. Just ordered the 10 amp hour battery and a backpack. Have a self propelled mower that only goes slow with the handle extended, but will go fast with the handle retracted. Have a leaf blower, hedge trimmer, multi tool motor with lawn edger, string trimmer and cultivator attachments, as well as a chainsaw. They all work very well. Fun video! I love all my EGO outdoor lawn care tools! I tell everyone that gas is gone. The EGO battery power is the lead dog these days! Mowing is fun again. I think that’s why there’s lights on the front: you won’t bother your neighbors if you mow late in the evening.
All my lawn equipment is battery powered now. Just bought a new EGO yesterday. Love it!
Cordless tools are becoming the best!
I agree. They need to make a reel mower ASAP
Just purchased that mower today. The one with two blades. I love it I will never buy a gas mower again. The purchase price was $600 at Home Depot and it’s worth it. I have a 1:30 acre lot and it only used half of the battery for the first cut of the season.

My big brother would LOVE this lawn mower. Can't wait to get my very own and show it off.
Bought one yesterday and used it for the first time. I'm impressed so far. BTW, it comes with a 7.5 Ah battery (not a 10 Ah), but it is rated to last 60 minutes as shown on your box.

I have an earlier version of this mower. The self-propel feature on mine works even when the blades aren't turning. Best mower I've ever had.

Thanks Vince! I invested in the 18" chainsaw and the backpack blower, both are exceptional. My plan is to go to the push mower in the spring.
I have the first-Gen Ego 21" self-propelled mower...AND I LOVE IT. Thanks for sharing the newer version, but now I want it, too!
All battery powered tools for me. No gas no corded. I have the Ego 56volt 21" mower and love it. All other tools are Ryobi. They all work as intended.

Nice it has a push mower function as well as assisted self propelled

Ive had my eco 56v and weed eater for about 4-5 yrs. Works really well and my yard is fairly big👍👍👍
I am in the EGO ope platform. I hope this doesn't priced so high its not worth it for the homeowners. Thanks for sharing Vince 👍
What’s your thoughts on the Milwaukee vs Ego. Which one would you go with for the Lawn Equipment?
Have no use for the lawn mower but the weed whacker is over the top. Is it 220 240V compatible? I'm in the Philippines is why i wonder.
Do you think I can just add another blade to the previous version of this lawn mower?
Thanks for the video it was very helpful!
Not worry about a Carburetor clogged and the spark magneto turning bad is a plus
The 10amp/h is the 2142 version, which only has a single blade but has 2 battery slots and comes with 2x 5amp battery.
This one is the 2135, it has 2 blades, but only 1 battery slot and comes with a 7.5amp/h battery.
Did you have any issues with your blade not spinning but the motor turning on?
No issues at all
I bought my first ever lawn mower last summer. I went Ego for mower and string trimmer. I want to get the leaf blower this summer and maybe an edger.
The on off for the led lights I'd a sweet function do admit battery powered ego mowers are nice for doing lawn at night
Hey Vince unrelated question but what do you think the best socket set is btw great vids keep it up
Vince you mow like me if its in the grass its done with... cups balls cans i cant stop laughing
Cub Cadet has one too. I can't wait till more make them, have some real options.
I'm also waiting for this.. if they don't get one soon I'm getting the Ryobi 0 turn xD
No coke beer! I don’t have the new model but have the previous model so I have to take drink breaks and still luvvvv it
Thanks! I will keep my Honda Gas one!
Thanks for review. I just ordered this mower. Richard in Dallas., Texas
Very expensive plastic tool but they do make some amazing tools
I'm picking up my EGO today.
Thanks for the feedback cuz, we appreciate it!
@@VCGConstruction smash it 👊
I normally wouldn’t watch the 20 minute video but let me say you are damn entertaining and I enjoyed every minute. I’ve been looking at getting a model like this just want to get a lower blade height is my only concern. If you have any other feedback that would be helpful. Best wishes to you
Good review but you missed one thing---self propelled will work with out the the blades turning.keep up the good work
Just bough mine today!
"Hi there"( while driving mower) vince you crack me up man LOVE THE CHANNEL!
Looks cool like all the adjustments. But it will take alot for me to give up my zero turn. See they have electric zero turn coming have to review.
Sure would like to see a comparison video between the EGO 56V & the TORO 60V lawn mowers. Please consider doing one.
4 minutes in - dude still standing next to a box...
LMAO!!!
Great for easy storage by folding it and standing it up vertically! 😁 God bless, fellas! 😁👍✌
I love the ego family of products I have them all they are wonderful products so reliable I still would prefer a gas powered chainsaw for the power but other than that I love the ego family of products
