The only reason I haven't removed them & chucked them in the bin is because of how expensive they are. The seller assures me no other customer has experienced that. I've been wearing braids & dreads throughout my life & only experienced this once with some cheap Amazon braids. I want to try this technique but scared they will be completely ruined or come apart.
Sorry you are experiencing that. Next time you can try prewashing the hair before installing . Its a delicate process based on the technique used so the hair shouldn't come apart. All the best
Thanks, I am going to do this your way with my Dejavu Passion Twist to clean them and make them stretch to the full 14 inch length. So how did the hair respond after it was dry?
Thank you for responding. Did you notice it your twist extended longer after it dried? The brand that I have is a short 14 inch, but its longer when pulled and it snaps back.
OMG, yes!!! I prefer short, but not this short. It's more of a 8 inch than a 14 inch. The lady at hair said that wetting it will elongate it to 14 inches. I will find out.

Yes it can be harsh. If you use the pure acv.. it's drying. What brand do you use?

The hair was perfectly good after washing .. absolutely no frizzing or disruption of the curl pattern.. even at the ends.

Did you use lukewarm water?
I used room temperature water.
When washing use hot or cold water?
