Shark FlexStyle vs Revlon One Step Styler!

  • New to the market, Shark FlexStyle brings interchangeable hair tool attachments that can create multiple hairstyles. However, it's a carbon copy of top sellers, including the Dyson Airwrap and Revlon One-Step hair styler. Today, that’s what I’m comparing in this video, Shark vs Revlon. The Revlon One-Step Styler went viral for a reason: it's an all-in-one tool for an at-home blowout. One step styling hair tools have been the rage for several years now. Let’s see if Shark made the one step styler even easier and better.

I bought Revlon a month ago. I have long thick 3B hair. I set the Revlon on a low heat, still managed to straighten the hair, no problem. And I bought it for 40 €, which is approx the same amount in $. It works very fast and it is very efficient. Revlon did not pull any of my hair out. It is certainly 1 of the best hair tools out there 👍 Get it, babes!

FYI, the Revlon head was designed to come off so you could wash it in the same way you would a hairbrush. They sell an attachment now by way of the curl attachment but originally the head coming off was so you could remove it and wash off build up of hair, oils and styling product residue.

I love the comparison content of these curler/dryer hybrids. I watched a few Shark vs Dyson video analyses. I see some improvements that Shark could make with ergonomics, but overall that price point is wonderful. The ability to choose your attachments is a brilliant way to offer customization to the user. I also have a lot of trust in Shark and their years of experience in R&D in the vacuum category. Shark is brilliant to build on their expertise. Dyson needs good competition. That makes better products and creates competition on price point.
Thank you for doing these before the holidays. ❤

I bought the revlon when it first came out. It does grab hair (my actual hair is thick and a wave but not a lot of hair. Doesn’t rip the hair out I love it. Straightens my hair and it does get hot but once the hair is straight I go to the cool and work it through. Love it and will purchase again if I still have longer hair. I still have the original and the airflow is very even.

May I ask...if you don't use these kind of tools for your longer hair, how do you typically blow dry (if not air wrapping)? Mine is getting longer now and I'm finding the same problem.

This is so timely! Yesterday (literally yesterday) the part of the cord that goes into the outlet came apart. When I tried to screw it back together, I saw that the Revlon uses the CHEAP screws that no one uses (you can’t tighten). Never again. Oh, and I’ve only had it for a year.

Thank you for this review! It's a slight difference but the Shark side looks more polished. You can see a slight poof on the Revlon side towards the front. That could also be due to many things though since with blowouts you're working against the clock to lock in a style before your hair drys and sets.
I feel what is important with all of these blow-out/style brushes is the engine. Since Shark and Dyson are known for their powerful vacuum cleaners, it makes total sense that they would come out with blow-out brushes with strong engines for quick blowouts. I would definitely be curious to know what protective coating each brush has. Some drug store hot brushes have a cheap coating that wears off after three months and then the tool will damage your hair. I haven't had that problem with Revlon, even the titanium one, so ultimately it might just be the powerful engine that wins out here when it comes to getting my next brush. I just wish the Shark was a bit smaller. 😛

The Revlon damaged and broke my hair 😭 yeah the effect was beautiful at first 🥲 but it gets too Hot 🔥 and you are the only one that I've seen that talks about how louder and hotter the Shark is compared to the Dyson. I like the Hot Tools 24K gold with the charcoal bristles. Comes in 2 sizes and doesn't get as hot. The T3 is also nice but it has a smaller brush and a flat brush. Hope this helps

You don’t actually wash & style your hair every day do you Milana? Give your hair a couple of days break between washes and use a 100% mulberry silk pillowcase from now on (if you don’t already), you’ll be amazed at how much kinder it is to your hair, especially new growth! X

I have the Revlon and I didn't realize you could remove the brush head. So my first thought was they must have other attachments I don't know about. Makes you wonder.

Well there is the original and the 2.0. The 2.0 can remove brush head but the original can’t be removed.

I will give them credit for creating a good diffuser for curly hair. I don't think that is copied.

I think Amazon has the Revlon for $45 right now. Y'all know how I like to sleep-scroll. 😄

Well I bought this and 2 months later it started on fire. I literally had to dump it in the tub and throw soda on it. Thermostat went kaput. Had to fight with company re warranty. Bought a Shark.

I still use the Revlon. I can't justify spending 600 or more on a Dyson. The Revlon does get too hot. To avoid that, I quickly shift to the cool setting, which never truly gets cooler once you've revved up to the high heat. It is significantly less hot but still dries super fast. I love the Revlon. I will never be without it.
The Shark is a lot cheaper than the Dyson but still not cheap enough.

What I'd like to know, is why on earth no-one makes a round brush not this oval shape.

    • @hannahleesbrain
      @hannahleesbrain 17 днів тому

I was wondering the same. I have the feeling that the narrower side of the oval shape gets in closer to root whereas the perfectly round won’t get as close to the root.
