FYI, the Revlon head was designed to come off so you could wash it in the same way you would a hairbrush. They sell an attachment now by way of the curl attachment but originally the head coming off was so you could remove it and wash off build up of hair, oils and styling product residue.
I bought Revlon a month ago. I have long thick 3B hair. I set the Revlon on a low heat, still managed to straighten the hair, no problem. And I bought it for 40 €, which is approx the same amount in $. It works very fast and it is very efficient. Revlon did not pull any of my hair out. It is certainly 1 of the best hair tools out there 👍 Get it, babes!
I love the comparison content of these curler/dryer hybrids. I watched a few Shark vs Dyson video analyses. I see some improvements that Shark could make with ergonomics, but overall that price point is wonderful. The ability to choose your attachments is a brilliant way to offer customization to the user. I also have a lot of trust in Shark and their years of experience in R&D in the vacuum category. Shark is brilliant to build on their expertise. Dyson needs good competition. That makes better products and creates competition on price point. Thank you for doing these before the holidays. ❤
I like that you test hair tools because everyone's hair is different. I have thick wavy hair and the Revlon Plus One Step is easier for curling it and smoothing it.
I like to curl my hair using the bigger knob on the top of my Revlon once I get towards the ends. It's such a fast way to style my hair without having to use a curling iron or straightener to add waves or loose curls to my hair.
I bought the revlon when it first came out. It does grab hair (my actual hair is thick and a wave but not a lot of hair. Doesn’t rip the hair out I love it. Straightens my hair and it does get hot but once the hair is straight I go to the cool and work it through. Love it and will purchase again if I still have longer hair. I still have the original and the airflow is very even.
Revlon came out with a One-Step Blowout Curls with 2 attachments and I think it’s a steal for the price. I liked it because I have really curly thick hair. 😍
This is so timely! Yesterday (literally yesterday) the part of the cord that goes into the outlet came apart. When I tried to screw it back together, I saw that the Revlon uses the CHEAP screws that no one uses (you can’t tighten). Never again. Oh, and I’ve only had it for a year.
I have the original Revlon and I love it so much. I want to get the newer model but need to wait till after Christmas when all my kids have been taken care of 😊
I got the original Revlon many moons ago after you reviewed it and still use it to this day. 😍 I haven't upgraded to the 2.0 and probably won't until my original bites the dust. I love it and see no need to upgrade or buy something even more expensive. I trust your reviews and love you and your family. Thanks for all you do for us!
Thank you for this review! It's a slight difference but the Shark side looks more polished. You can see a slight poof on the Revlon side towards the front. That could also be due to many things though since with blowouts you're working against the clock to lock in a style before your hair drys and sets. I feel what is important with all of these blow-out/style brushes is the engine. Since Shark and Dyson are known for their powerful vacuum cleaners, it makes total sense that they would come out with blow-out brushes with strong engines for quick blowouts. I would definitely be curious to know what protective coating each brush has. Some drug store hot brushes have a cheap coating that wears off after three months and then the tool will damage your hair. I haven't had that problem with Revlon, even the titanium one, so ultimately it might just be the powerful engine that wins out here when it comes to getting my next brush. I just wish the Shark was a bit smaller. 😛
I have med to fine wavy hair, and purchased the Revlon air brush! I haven’t been happier. I use the low setting and it fine. Does not get has hot as my blow dryer. I think the price point is great. However you have to remember what works for one person may not work for you.
I actually think having a detachable head is fantastic- I have the original revlon one step styler- and the bristles have seen their day- so although the handle is still great- I need to upgrade now and bin the whole thing- rather than just getting a new brush head
Personally I think the Revlon is a great choice price wise. If your hair is 80% dry you can just go in to smooth and polish the hair. Ensure you’re using heat protection before your blow outs.
I really love how you are so honest about the products, even with the loved ones. The Revlon damaged and broke my hair 😭 yeah the effect was beautiful at first 🥲 but it gets too Hot 🔥 and you are the only one that I've seen that talks about how louder and hotter the Shark is compared to the Dyson. I know the Shark is less expensive than the Dyson but is still expensive 🥴 so I'm going to keep saving to get the Dyson even for that little less damage I can save to my hair. Thank you 💜
I had NO IDEA that the Revlon top came off!! Lol I use it twice a week! Now I'm going g to run upstairs to my 'getting ready room' and take it off! Ha!
I had the original Revlon one step and when the hot tools version with slightly smaller barrel went on sale I picked it up and gave my old one away. I regretted it instantly. The hot tools barrel doesn’t grab the hair as good as Revlon. I’ll keep using the hot tools because I’m not going to buy another one but I sure do miss my Revlon one step.
I won’t lie, I have the first generation Dyson, I also have the Revlon, this thing is magic compared to the Dyson! I absolutely love how it handles my hair versus the Dyson. I purchased my Dyson Hughes condition and I’m trying to resell it because I prefer the Revelon call me crazy lol.
They made the head removable to make it easier to travel with. I have a conair brush and it has always been easy to travel with, i held back on getting the revlon one before bc of the size and the fact that i wouldn't be able to remove the head
Ive owned my revlon for years i never knew the head comes off!! Also my biggest pet peeve is how loud it is. I wear ear plugs every time I use my revlon
I used the Revlon one for years but I felt it made my hair frizzy and I couldn’t get the wavy areas at the root. I’m trying to decide between the a couple of the new shark stylers.
I have short hair and wonder if the Shark would be better since it does seem to grip the hair better?! Thank you for always doing such thorough reviews.
I wish the shark didn’t have the rotatable feature and just made it a third shorter. I think I’d buy it then but it’s so long and I don’t think I could hold it properly. I can’t really use my original Revlon one step though because the handle is too bulky and hard to hold. I wish they’d made it more uniform and narrower like the Remington Hydralux.
Does the Shark blow air out of the brush, or suck air? The Dyson really reduces frizz compared to other brushes because it sucks instead of blows. Sorry for the terms 😂
I originally bought the Revlon when you reviewed the first one years ago and loved it! Then I went to the Revlon Plus and loved it even more. I bought the Shark at Canadian Tire and here in Canada it’s $350! I like it, don’t love it… yet. Like you I’m used to the size of the Revlon and I also find that with the Shark my hair gets pulled where it attaches/clicks into place and it hurts! I’ve given the curling attachments a try and my hair falls flat pretty quickly, if I can get that to work I’ll keep it. Thanks for the comparison! 🤍
I purchased the Revlon years ago and loved the results! BUT because it was SO hot on my hair I returned it. The damage it would cause over time wasn’t worth it to me!
Shark ALSO has a great diffuser head. So you have everything you need for a great blow dry and the diffuser head if you want to go curly. And given how awful the Dyson owner is, very happy to have a real alternative which also happens to be way more affordable.
I have the revlon and I’ve found it just does not do the trick, my hair is still frizzy and I went outside and within no time at all it was like a lions mane! I’ve just bought the shark and I’m waiting for it to be delivered I hope that works and I haven’t just wasted my money 😂
I am going t keep using my Revlon One Step Volumizer hair dryer and my instyler hair tools on my hair because they're both easy for me to control and hold..... What hair products did you use in this video?? I wash my hair every 6 days and only use my heat tools in the colder months it works best for me
If you go to Costco for $299.00 you get 3 brushes plus 2 wrap around barrels and the one for curly hair. Had the Dyson took it back way too much money so for me the Shark hands down.
I have the Revlon and I like it a lot but wouldn't say I love it.. I think if it eas a little bit smaller on the barrel it would be better for me because my hair is shoulder length...🤔👍❤
I was a die hard revelon but it damaged my hair completely. I have the shark now and I don’t recommend using the oval brush for everyday because it’s also hair damaging. I use the oval brush very lightly but however I love the hair dryer with the concentrater and the barrels
Aw man , I wanted to get the shark for this reason 😭 but looking at this video it looks like the round brush looks similar … I guess there’s no such thing as a blow dryer brush that’s not damaging 😔

Thank you for doing these before the holidays. ❤
I feel like the shark side is very sleek looking. I definitely want a shark 🦈
I noticed that too. The revlon side looks frizzy.
Im a hairdresser, I’ve never used these but When you have more tension it gets rid of the frizz more and makes the blowdry last longer

Same 😁
I got the updated one and miss my old one. It started with a weird hum every now and then so I replaced it
So glad I watched this before making a purchase, thank you!!
Loooooovr my Revlon styler. My hair does amazing things. I’m 74 yrs old.
Thank you for this review! It's a slight difference but the Shark side looks more polished. You can see a slight poof on the Revlon side towards the front. I absolutely love watching you so much!!! Thank you for everything you are doing!!
What about the weight of each brush? Is one lighter than the other?
9:08 thank you, these settings were exactly the reason why I will buy the Shark
Dyson need one of these attachments and my life will be complete 😊

Same. Paid £475 for the Dyson and £35 for the Revlon… now selling the Dyson as the Revlon is way better… shame
What about the if you’re used it in the angle postistion?
Can you do the Shark paddle brush attachment compared to the Dyson?
They made the head removable to make it easier to travel with. I have a conair brush and it has always been easy to travel with, i held back on getting the revlon one before bc of the size and the fact that i wouldn't be able to remove the head
I almost didn’t buy the expensive Shark because of her review but I’m so thankful I did. I don’t agree with her assessment. I did enjoy the video.
Strange, on my revlon the medium setting has exactly the same blow volume as the high setting.
Ive owned my revlon for years i never knew the head comes off!! Also my biggest pet peeve is how loud it is. I wear ear plugs every time I use my revlon
I find my Revlon high & medium setting the air flow is the same the heat is lower on med
I used the Revlon one for years but I felt it made my hair frizzy and I couldn’t get the wavy areas at the root. I’m trying to decide between the a couple of the new shark stylers.
I have the revlon and it makes my hair really frizzy. I only use it for a quick blow dry before flat iron because of the frizz it causes.
I tried Revlon, it's drying and creates static and flyaway hair...if Shark is the worst, then none of them... Thank you for the review!
Hot Tools attachments fit on the Revlon Plus. Same parent company.
The removable Revlon head is convenient when traveling. With the original it didn’t fit in my toiletry bag.
I have short hair and wonder if the Shark would be better since it does seem to grip the hair better?! Thank you for always doing such thorough reviews.
The Hot Tools attachments fit that Revlon base. Same company less money.
Enjoying the video! 👏👏Eventough I have short hair! These companies should create a tool for people with short hair!!
You can change the temp o. Revlon Or use the highest and change the heat to cool and that sets your hair
Does the Shark blow air out of the brush, or suck air? The Dyson really reduces frizz compared to other brushes because it sucks instead of blows. Sorry for the terms 😂
I have revlon for 2 and half years and now I just found out from you that you can remove the heaď
Only on the new version.

Yayyy! I requested this one ❤️
I didn’t know the top of my revlon came off! I’ll keep my revlon but I have a shark now! The revlon is hot hot hot I don’t have the one with medium.
Looks much better with the shark. I have both and the shark gives a sleeker finish for sure.
I purchased the Revlon years ago and loved the results! BUT because it was SO hot on my hair I returned it. The damage it would cause over time wasn’t worth it to me!

I did recently learn from another YT video...can't remember who, that Hot Tools attachments will fit on the Onestep.
Good comparison!
Hi, thank you, your videos are extremely helpful! What's your take about the imetec hot brush? Have you ever tried it?
Is the shark one heavy to hold? Thanks.
I am older and my hair seems to frizz if I don’t use a cold shot. How does the cold shot compare?
I have the revlon and I’ve found it just does not do the trick, my hair is still frizzy and I went outside and within no time at all it was like a lions mane! I’ve just bought the shark and I’m waiting for it to be delivered I hope that works and I haven’t just wasted my money 😂

I think Revlon made the head removable to make it smaller to travel with.
Presumably also easier to clean the head than the older version with the head permanently attached to an electrical item
@@TheRisdene I understood it to be for cleaning too.

Hi can you tell me if the oval brush straighten the hair ? 😊

Me gusta la tensión que hace la shark ya que al tener ese tipo de cerdas pule mejor el cabello, soy estilista y es mi punto de vista.
My question is which one damages less the hair?
I don't mind more time it takes to do hair vs the high heat Revlon brush has
Have you had a chance to test REMINGTON HYDRAluxe? I have no idea which hot brush to choose 🙄
Are either of these good for short hair?
Silly question. Will the shark hair dryer replace an actual hair dryer?
Apparently there's some recalls on these Revlon and Conair brushes I have one used it Twice it set of the smoke detectors not good .
Thank you! Great assessment of the 2 tools. 🙂
Have you tried the blow dry bar round brush dryer? If so what did you think of it? Thanks!
Why haven't you reviewed the one step blowout curls by revlon? I would like to get your opinion on it
Have you tried l'ange brand to compare?
It would have been nice if you would have shown us the Shark Flex tools!
I’m about to throw out my Revlon and get the shark. I’ve had my Revlon since it came out and it’s been overheating. Don’t get me wrong, I love it and served me well the last like 6 years (it’s the original) but I’m done with the overheating and pulling on my scalp.

I love these videos!
Revlon fried my hair. I am an occasional hot tool user. Meaning only 2-3 times per 3-4 months. Very rare. It still fried and tore my hair.
Love love love your channel! I think that the detachable option for Revlon allows you to clean it.

I messaged shark to see this but they replied 131 on low med 167 and high 203F
That’s what is making hesitate. Cheaper than Dyson, but is it more damaging
Can you do a T3 airebrush duo review??

Can you compare lee stafford one and Diva atmos dry +style
My long hair ruined my Revlon after one use! I have 3a/b hair. Those tips are not so great for textured hair. I’m going to try the Shark.
Be careful with the Revlon one if you have thin fragile hair. It ripped the front of my hair over a period of a few weeks. I did rough dry before using the brush, but it still broke my hair.
the same happened to me! my hair thinned sooo much from using the revlon
