Thank you for watching everyone! After watching this video, are you curious to try this out for yourself now or do you think that you would like to stick with the Dyson Airwrap? I did another review on the *TRENDING* automatic curler so if you are interested, you can check that out right here: I Bought a WIRELESS AUTOMATIC CURLER so you don’t have to (or maybe you do...) ua-cam.com/video/ll7PffA_rDM/v-deo.html
Hi Gabi. Great review. The Shark Flexstyle is not available in South Africa. I got the Dyson Airwrap Multi Styler and I am really happy with it. I find it to be very gentle on my hair and I love the convenience of one barrel that can switch directions.
@@GlamGirlGabi I ordered mine, it is delivered today, cannot wait to test it. Was 161€, so I couldn't resist to buy it. Now I must learn to use it properly!😄😋
I’d say I’m pretty picky with hair tools because my hair is super thick and curly/wavy and when I straighten/blow dry i like it VERY straight. I got the shark a few weeks ago and I use the paddle brush attachment to straighten it and it works super well even at the roots, I actually was skeptical but it worked perfectly for my hair. I also like that I do more blowout styles since getting the shark as opposed to just straight with a hair straightener. I’d say if someone wants to buy it, do so from Amazon or Costco or somewhere you can comfortably try it out a few times to see if you like it but have the option to return if you don’t. I think it’s a good tool and honestly it’s really pretty also hah
This is why I wanted to see your review on this one because you always point out things that people don’t. The idea of those condo curling things sounds nice in theory, but with curly hair (mine is 3B) it's an extra step that I don’t know if I would ever use. I would use the diffuser and the blow dryer brush though, and maybe that new comb attachment to smooth it if I wanted to flat iron it right after. that hair catching thing is irritating too, and something no one else has mentioned. Most of the reviewers I have seen have straight hair. So I'm still on the fence but I'm glad to see its mildly Gabby approved 🙂
I have the Revlon brush, and while I like the results, it’s too hot and definitely damages my hair 😬 it’s also very heavy and very loud.. so I hardly ever use it..
I just started using the Shark. I find that rough drying until the roots are mostly dry and the ends are about 60%. Then I use the curl attachment in sections and I get lots of volume and wave. I have medium wavy hair past my shoulders with lots of layers. I love that it twists into an actual hairdryer, unlike the Dyson.
I KNOW! It's so ridiculous that there would be a small gap in between the attachment and the handle. There is no way that the hair isn't going to get caught in there.
Try smaller sections. That typically does the trick. My hair is very thick and Curly so I HAVE to use smaller sections. I notice I don’t have that issue.
TIP - Turn the wand with the curler upside down to go toward and away. I agree on the curled ends. I have shorter hair and I’m struggling to get a modern look. Great review!
My Tymo died in less than a year! And the Revlon brush made my hair look better. Get the Revlon instead if you are going to get a blow-dry brush only, and it is frequently on sale.
Could you please tell me what Revlon brush do you prefer for straightening and smoothing natural curly hair that’s about middle of the back as far as Link goes
@@senseofwonder4734It has to be hot to do anything so that is very true. I had so many complaints from my clients about the heat of the Revlon. I find TYMO hot but not SUPER hot. I need to buy the Revlon one and actually compare the temperatures using a thermometer. I'm so curious.
I had the Revlon One Step too and after no less than a year my healthy hair was fried. So, I gave it away. I never tried the Tymo, though. But, I have heard nothing, but good things about it. Maybe you got a defective one. I really want the Tymo straightening brush, even though I already have straight hair. I want it to make it flat iron straight without the flat iron. By the way, I’m not dismissive your experience. Hair is different for everyone.
I was really happy to find a review from someone with wavy hair. Thanks for all the info. I also have very wavy/curly hair and need the tension when flat iron curling my hair. I rough blow dry it and only smooth out the front top first so I dont think this tool would work well for me either.
Thank you Gabi - my blow dryer just broke down so I am in the market for a new one, but not too sure about this one - I will have to think about it. I also just wanted to give you some feedback on the Tymo Ring Plus hair straightener that I got for Christmas - this was a fail for me, I ended up returning it. I found that it didn't grab on the hair tight enough and after I was done I would just go over it with my other flat iron and not ideal. My hair is very similar to your sisters, I have thick and wavy hair. Another design feature that was frustrating for me are where the controls are located, so everytime I would pick up the iron I would either decrease the heat or turn it off completely...lol. I appreciate you testing out these tools for us and giving us your opinion. Looking forward to your next video 😊💕
I just bought this a few weeks ago! Love the versatility of it but finding my hair doesn’t hold the curl when I use the auto-wrap curler attachment. I just saw a video on Instagram with someone putting a roller over the attachment first, replacing it for every section of hair and leaving them in for a bit. Wonder if that would work better?
Curious how you like the blow dryer as a stand alone. If you didn’t buy it for the attachments do you like the blow dryer? Pros and cons on that would be nice
Thanks for the review. I bought a L'ANGE blowdryer with round brush. So far so good but if I need a new one in the future I might switch. I do like it though if you ever check it out.
I got the shark...I am having difficulty with volume and usage. I am so frustrated. I really want a round brush that dries and helps smooth. I got the babyliss curler you spoke about in your video w Summer...LOVE it. But need hair dryer and brush. I have fine hair that is naturally frizzy....suggestions? Also....is there a good video on products for same type hair for volume, and sleekness? I currently use Redken Volume
Hmmmm I’m not sure honestly. I have to say, I love my Dyson air wrap for the round brush attachments but found it annoying it didn’t come with a diffuser. Also, the air wrap is so complicated for me lol looking at the arrows for its direction I always get it wrong and before you know it I’m using four letter words fighting with myself, alone in the bathroom sounding insane lol. I love how this one bends in an L shape and I love that diffuser Gabi! It looks like a pretty flower lol. I don’t know, I might have to try this but my husband got me for Christmas so many of your recommendations if he sees this I think I may end up sleeping in the garage 😅 I’ll keep you posted! 😊
Hmmm, interesting 🤔 I loved the diffuser, specifically how it bends!😍 do you think it's worth it to buy it just for the diffuser? I have wavy hair likes yours. Thanks girl❣🤗😘
Maybe would be relevant to mention that the main benefit of Shark/Dyson is that they're blow dry stylers, not to be compared with straighteners or curler wands 🤦♀️ A wand will give me instant perfect and shiny curls at a cost - the health of my hair.
I have the Amika dryer brush and love it. It’s easy to hold and doesn’t dry my hair. My hair also looks shiny and smooth and I only use a little bit of leave in conditioner. It’s my favorite dryer brush
It sounds as though it was worth it for the diffuser alone. I like the fact that it has long prongs as I don;t really like to pixie diffuse but this one may be better. That curl look was different for you! A more 70"s look, I know what you mean. I think you should give the blow out brush another chance using smaller sections as the barrel does seem shorter than the Tymo. That said a gap for hair to get caught on doesn't sound good!
@@Muslimah33I was trying to decide between the two of these I’m also debating the laifen but I think the diffuser on the shark looks nicer no one has a video comparing the 2 other than Swavy curly Courtney and she didn’t rly say if one was better or i didn’t really get an answer

The snagging round brush makes this a hard pass for me. I purchased a round brush that snagged, after two uses it went in the garbage. So sad because it wasn't cheap. With fine, thin hair I need every single hair on my head! 🥲
I totally get it! I hated that too and it was the main reason I never reached for it. The clips came out a little over exposed in the edits so I wasn’t able to show a detailed shot of all the little hairs stuck in that area. It was definitely something I noticed right away.

I don’t have the problem with hair snagging. Never had that issue. Love the shark especially for curls as I’m so bad with curling iron.

Great point about the hair catching! I've experienced this with other blowout brushes and I don't know why this isn't thought about when designing!

What would you recommend as the best hot brush to smooth curly hair very prone to frizz please? 😊
It really isn't out dated to curl the ends of your hair. The waved with straight ends look will be laughed at in time I'm sure 😊
