  • Shark SmoothStyle One-Step Styler the best on the market?
    Shark Beauty recently launched a new hair tool, Shark SmoothStyle. This is a two in one hair tool that combines a heated comb straightener and a smoother round brush. What makes this SmoothStyle different from other one-step stylers, two hair mode features. Wet hair mode is used on wet/damp hair to achieve a voluminized blowout at home with no heat damage. And the dry hair mode is to straighten, align and further smooth the hair. You can use dry hair mode feature to refresh the hair the next day. These heated plates are a game changer to one-step stylers. Let’s review this new Shark SmoothStyle Hair tool on its performance.

    I have the shark hyperair dryer with styling brush but it's so darn heavy and you can't wrap your hair around it like this. I never have good results with styling my hair with it. I used to have the revlon brush, but it was so hot it was frying my hair. Hoping this is a good alternative to both.

    The problem I have with these one step tools is that for humidity sensitive hair like mine, you are drying/smoothing a section, then just floofing it right back up with the steam from the next section and so on. I have to dry my hair, let the bathroom steam air out, then style.

    • @AllyKit
      @AllyKit 8 місяців тому +3

      Same. I have to section my hair starting from the bottom, leaving the wet hair on top and do one side at a time. When I am done with each section, I pin it to the opposite side I'm working on. Dry each section to about 90% and when I'm finished, I flip my head over and dry it all together to get the roots really well and finish it off. Then I use the cool shot (on the Dyson) for about 30 seconds. That really seems to work.
      But yeah, I always have to turn the A/C down wicked low, keep my hair in a turbie twist and leave the room after we shower then come back later once the steam is gone. Which is why I only blow dry my hair once a week! Such a pain.

      I had this problem as well and started using the Color Wow product that is heat activated and even though my hair may get hot again the color wow still hold the style and doesn’t curl or frizz back up. I am so glad to come across your comments though because I now understand why my hair does the same!!

    I tried the SmoothStyle and found that the bristle/plate combo was too rough for my fine hair- left it looking frizzy at the crown of my head. I also didn't like that I couldn't adjust the temperature of heat for the plates so I returned it.

  • @LisainCalifornia
    @LisainCalifornia 2 місяці тому +1

    I have a hot tools problem--I keep buying different ones. I bought this one around January, but never grab it. It doesn't really smooth my hair like it should, and it gets frizzy quick. It also pulls my hair out when using the dryer especially--like random hairs get yanked out, which isn't good. The dry hair mode also pulls my hair out if I get my hair too close to the edges. I use the dry hair mode to smooth my hair out, but it actually doesn't work as well as a Hot Tools heated brush that I have (that one is more of a flat/oval shape that heats on both sides) and I would rather use that. I feel like the teeth on the Shark one are not very effective for either smoothing or volume.
