This is what I do, too. My hair is REALLY stubborn to dry, so I dry it first with a hair dryer. But this thing really blows out my hair nicely afterwards!
I air dry to 80% and then use this as it is a styler not a dryer as such. Mine lasted 2 years before going up in flames which seems to be normal. Didn't put me off buying another one
This brush is life changing. My arms are exhausted half way through drying my hair and I usually still need to use a straightener for the random wavy bits I have left. This is totally one and done. I love it!
My hair is super long so same here. Plus I end up sweating to death no matter the season. But NOW!!! It still takes forever because my hair is half curly and half straight (idk) and thick but now all I have to do is use this. No straightener afterwards. Which cuts my prep time in HALF.

I bought this because of this video and I love it. I have curly hair and used to blow dry (basically into a frizzy mess) and then use a flat iron. Now I just use this and like the results so much more! Great volume, great wave and it takes less than half the time. Win all around. Thanks, Brad!
omggg i havw curly hair too and it's just so annoying straightening your hair everytime cuz it takes so long !!! you convinced, i'm gonna buy this one cuz i want to straighten my hair more often but it just does make a big effort and im lazy
I know this is more economically priced - BUT - it damaged my hair as it’s too much heat... I have a Dyson air wrap (was a gift!!) and it changed my life. Less than 10 min for a professional looking blowout. Gave away this one to my bestie.
I've been using the Revlon one step dryer for a few years. I love it. I have an autoimmune disease that causes my upper body muscles to be extremely sore. This is great because it's so quick and does such a great job. I don't have to hold my arms up for long.
Wait,I have the problems you mentioned but I don’t know if I have any disease. Do you mind my asking what auto immune disease causes this upper body weakness and pain? Thank you!
Hi Brad, I know it's been several months since you've made this video but I wanted to comment. I bought one of these things about a little over a year ago, used it once, hated it, threw it in a drawer never to be seen again...until I saw this video. I followed your tutorial to a t and my hair turned out beautifully! I still takes me forever to do my hair, but like I tell my husband, " beauty takes time", lol! Thanks Brad!
I use this brush. I’m a disabled Veteran and holding a brush AND a hairdryer is impossible. Add I’m attempting to stand up and a service dog is watching me. It’s the best I’ve found yet.
As a black person with curly Afro textured hair *my hair type is 3c 4a curl patterns* , this blow dryer works WONDERS, saves me so much time and gets my hair super smooth, and super straight, as long as I have my heat protectant I love it 😁
NO THIS IS ME. I’ll be like “wow you are so ugly rn, wash you hair, do 16 face masks to make your skin less greasy” and then when I head “hey beautiful” I’m like “Damnnn I am hot 🥵 “
I've had this for a few years now and it's the best thing my kinky 4c hair has ever seen! It helps me achieve a really smooth blowout and lots of shine!
Oh, that's awesome. No breakage? Why do you think some people say it breaks their hair and causes horrible damage, any ideas? I want to try it but I'm scared. 😂
I LOVE this dryer! I have arthritis in my wrists and hands and this is a fantastic item! When I use this then curl with my flat iron, my style and volume holds for 4 - 5 days! Love it!
Helpful tip: if there's anyone who feels like it takes forever to dry their hair just with the Revlon one step, I did too. But I started rough drying my hair with a regular blow dryer until it's about 85-90% dry and finish off with the Revlon one step! It's worked really well for me
I’ve had this dryer for 3 months. It works really well especially for my fuzzy, curly hair. It drys my hair fast and easy to to get to the root of my curls around my face. It’s not any louder than other dryers. I highly recommend it.
I have this and it works wonders, gives almost a natural straight however like Brad said, you must use product to protect your hair otherwise you will fry your hair because it does get really hot.
I also think this is a great product for certain disabilities. So if maybe you have limb difference, low muscle tone or maybe chronic fatigue I think this is fantastic! I love it
Absolutely! I have a variety of autoimmune diseases. One of my worst symptoms is weak muscles. My upper back and shoulders struggle when I hold my arms above my head. This product allows me to exhaust my right side, and then switch to the left side. If I use a blower and hairbrush, I have to exhaust both arms at the same time, so I have to take breaks.
I have never in my life been able to blow-dry my own hair with a brush. I am 46 and have been trying for 30 years. This product has 💯 changed my life. I now have the option to wash AND style my hair in the morning. Amaaaaaazing.
i love mine so much! it gives my hair so much more volume and it dries faster than a blow dryer. i also have really thick hair so it keeps it from getting tangled bc i’m brushing it the whole time! 😄
@@florenciapalma2499 you need to towel dry your hair first. I leave my wet hair in a towel after a shower for a bit. put on my moisturizers and makeup, then take off my hair towel and dry my hair with this appliance. I love mine. I have curly, frizzy hair and get a smooth, shiny blowout in under 10 minutes.
I’m so glad you liked this product because I literally just bought it and am a person who doesn’t know how to properly give myself volume. Thanks for the approval haha 😄
For volume roll the brush starting at the scalp. I don’t brush and brush. I position it, rotate it thru and give it a few seconds before releasing it to cool. Constant brushing snd twisting would increase dry time and chance for breaking hair.
@@elliegraves6190 If I'm being honest, the only issue I've had is it does get really hot... after awhile the top where you are able to touch gets too hot to touch. I'd say like everything else, just be careful. Hope that helps love 😊
@@kristenM3138 but heavier than a regular hairdryer? (My mom has had neck surgery, I was going to get this for her but I worry that it's too cumbersome to hold over your head for very long.) Thank you for answering
I’m surprised you’re just now trying this out. I have one and it’s a total game changer. I am too clumsy when trying to use a brush and hairdryer but this thing is so freakin simple. And my curly frizzy hair comes out smooth and soft.
Me too. I've had mine for like over a year now. And it has cut my hair drying/styling in half. Used to take me an hour on my hair with just a reg blow dryer and curling iron. Now I use 1 tool, and it takes less than 30 min for me.
I have really curly hair and i can straighten my hair in like 15-20 minutes with this. Normally i would have to blow dry my hair & then straighten with a flat iron. Now i just use this brush and that’s it!!! I love it 😍😍😍
yeesss mee too - i recently cut my hair to my shoulders because it was too much to handle, but then i bought this and its like 9 minutes right out of the shower and nice hair for days
I have medium curls, some wavy, but lots of frizz and this tool has been magical. My hair always looks so smooth and shiny and love how I can still have lots of volume in my hair. It's the best and only hair styling tool I use now.
I have wavy hair that gets very frizzy without styling. I got this Revlon one step dryer a couple of years ago, and it’s a game changer! It completely transforms my hair, and only takes about 5 minutes for a total blowout (and I have a lot of long hair!). I switch back and forth between hot and cold, as it really heats up. Leaves my hair silky and full of body and shine. I also have joint problems, and the ease of working with this one tool vs. a blow dryer and round brush is amazing. My sister-in-law tried it, and bought one for herself and her two sisters the very next day!
Wait I love that Brad looks like a real person and hasn't had a ton of work done like other successful stylists (make up & hair) in the industry. He's got such a great look to him
I've had several of these over the last 25 years from different manufacturers. They're great, so easy to use if you don't have the skills of how to use a hair dryer & a round brush at the same time.
Does it cause the hair to have more or less frizz compared to air drying or regular blow drying? I would love to try this because I think it will help me stule my medium-to-long-ish layers plus I have to do something to my roots too so my hair stays flattering both to my face and my head. But since the air goes out and thus up I assume it will cause the fly-aways to stick out more.
“If you’re somebody who doesn’t like styling their hair - and you want to be lazy with it, but you want it to look really good - this is for you.” That comment came for me. 🤣 I can’t say Brad is wrong though. I love mine.
Wendy Riebe I'm glad you're happy with yours. Could have something to do with individual head of hair though, I say that as am watching another UA-camr same time as watching Brad, and she doesn't like the Revlon one, she said way too loud, way too heavy, handle got too hot and didn't dry and straighten her hair completely whereas the other one she used on the other side of her head left her hair soft, straight and smooth. Just FYI.
I have been using this brush to style my hair for at least 2 years now and I absolutely love it. It does wonders for my hair. I have naturally very curly hair and this works so quickly and efficiently. Absolutely obsessed 5 out of 5 stars.
@@undercoversnail4591 it has a low and high heat only, I always use the high heat with the Kenra Platinum blow dry heat protection spray. I haven't had any damage to my hair.
I bought this because of you and OMG literally the best hair tool I've ever used. Don't need my straighteners anymore, no frizz and I have semi curly frizzy messy hair generally. Revlonutionary 😉
@@Highpriestess1126 I have not had any problems. If you don't prep the hair first... it will cause breakage but that's with any tool... all hair tools, even thr dyson will cause a lot of damage if you don't prep first and never use this with wet hair...it needs to be damp...
I'm so glad you reviewed this blowdryer brush. I have had it for over a year and havent used my flat iron ever since...why would I. It's amazing! I blow dry my hair, its thick, before using this and always turn out with great results. I originally purchased because I wanted the blow out look with out the blow out arm pain and frustration.
My mom has some mobility issues with her hands this thing is a life saver for her. She can do her hair again and I can't say enough how happy that makes me for her
I have frizzy naturally curly thick hair and it’s so hard to straighten it. This thing works my hair like magic. I will never use a hair straightener again
If your hair is very thick, I recommend drying your hair half way by air drying or with a blow dryer, it takes way less time and I noticed my hair breaking way less using this when my hair was more damp than wet. Also, get the Drybar one if you are sensitive to sound, it’s much quieter IMO. It also isn’t as hot and has a longer cord. It may be more expensive, but I used my Ulta points and got it nearly for free.
I have it since it came out last year... And I love it... I had long hair before now I cut it and it works as well... I have the most thin and flat hair and it's the only thing that gives me really nice volume and body. My sister has crazy voluminous hair and it takes her no effort to blow out her hair. I recommend this to anyone who wants nice salon blow out hair
I owe it all to my sister. I have super wild, picky hair and I just cannot use the regular, run of the mill things. It was on the clearance shelf at Target for $19 and I was interested but knew it wouldn’t work for me but my sister told me to try it anyway. I have never used a regular blow dryer since. That was in 2017!! I love this thing and have gone through a few over 4 years, but it is so worth it!
My husband bought this for me a year and a half ago, I have naturally curly texture and it is amazing (on low) for straightening and smoothing out my hair. It has been a game changer!
pro tips: even when doing a blowout with a normal blow dryer and round brush, you should dry the hair like 70-80% first and then go in with the round brush or in this case, this revlon dryer. it just helps the “curls” to stick better because the hair is damp enough to use a blow dryer on but not so soaked that it’s not completely dry bc that leads to the curls falling out and your hair just getting sizzled lol. ALSO - cool shots are your friend when curling!!! after the hair is completely dried and you’ve gotten the wave in there that you’re looking for, the cool shot just helps it stick that much more, bc the hydrogen bonds in your hair repair by cooling down and those are what determine the wave patter in your hair 😊
I have been using this for about a year and I use it every single time i wash my hair and it looks like i came out from hair salon. its so easy to use and works so well. I love it
Love love love this tool! I bought mine after having Rotator Repair surgery in hopes that I would be able to maintain my long thick hair without having to rely on someone else to help me. I was so happy that I was able to have beautiful hair only needing one hand!
Do you do really small sections at a time? My daughters is SUPER thick and hasn't ever turned out like what he did! 🤷♀️🤦♀️ What is the electrify stuff? Leave in conditioner?
I LOVE this dryer! I’m very picky about my blowouts so I wasn’t sure. But this gives me such a smooth cuticle and volume! I reach for it more often than my round brush and hairdryer. It does get VERY hot so I don’t use it every day. Or I’ll let it air dry about 60% before I go in. Thanks for showing us different ways to use it!! I notice that I get a much smoother look when I DONT go on top of the section.
whenever he says "hi beautiful" im always making the ugliest faces and today i was stuffing my face with candy hearts and chocolate also tell me why i laughed so hard at this 6:45 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 like i literally watched it at least 15 times
I bought it like 6 months ago and I looooove it. It's the only thing that gives me that very polished "put together" look since my hair is naturally wavy/fine/slightly curly. Whenever I can I let it airdry but when I'm in a hurry, I love using this because normal blowdryers make my hair look insanely frizzy. :)
I cant believe how much you have grown Brad! And how much your following has grown!!!! Like what???!!! YOU are amazing and so talented! And so much fun to watch! Keep it up. Love you and you're content!
I’ve had this for over a yr and it’s perfection! My hair is healthy and shiny and dries super fast. I have thick hair and I use NO products in it bc I tend to have issues w my hair and scalp. I’m 46 and have lots of grey hair and this doesn’t even break my hairs like the round brush would.
Thank you for reviewing this hair dryer I just used it for the first time I normally wear my hair curly and hate putting heat to my hair. This was wonderful my 2 year old hates the sound but I straightened my hair super fast and it was beautiful.
Yeah the hot Tools one is slightly better on the bristles imo. They're both made by Helen of Troy or whatever if I recall. I recommend getting the hot Tools during an ulta sale (sometimes they themselves go on sale or use the 20% on anything coupon when they have them) and then you basically get it for the Revlon price.

How's your hair after 2 years? Dry, damaged, good?
I bought this because of this video and I love it. I have curly hair and used to blow dry (basically into a frizzy mess) and then use a flat iron. Now I just use this and like the results so much more! Great volume, great wave and it takes less than half the time. Win all around. Thanks, Brad!
omggg i havw curly hair too and it's just so annoying straightening your hair everytime cuz it takes so long !!! you convinced, i'm gonna buy this one cuz i want to straighten my hair more often but it just does make a big effort and im lazy
@@briskeladid you buy it? If you did, how is it working?
I've had one of these for nearly a year and wouldn't be without it ever. I'm 72 yrs old and my hair is naturally wavy, grey and shoulder length.
Never used to blow dry my hair until I got this a year or two ago -- literally cuts down my drying time in HALF!!
That’s it. I’m saving up for it lol
I know this is more economically priced - BUT - it damaged my hair as it’s too much heat... I have a Dyson air wrap (was a gift!!) and it changed my life. Less than 10 min for a professional looking blowout. Gave away this one to my bestie.
@@Alexalini I use the heat setting on my revlon for the first pass but then I switch to cool to do the rest of my hair

Thank you!
This is very helpful, as I have an AI neuromuscular disease. I've been looking for a dryer like this, but is it heavy? It looks so heavy to me.

@@LetsgoRangers4 its not heavy, around the same weight as a hair dryer.

Helpful tip: if there's anyone who feels like it takes forever to dry their hair just with the Revlon one step, I did too. But I started rough drying my hair with a regular blow dryer until it's about 85-90% dry and finish off with the Revlon one step! It's worked really well for me

@@vickytime3855 No, but the cool setting is high air, no heat, so rather useless.
As someone with chronic fatigue, I'm late to the game, but am getting mine delivered today. Excited to use it!
I have never in my life been able to blow-dry my own hair with a brush. I am 46 and have been trying for 30 years. This product has 💯 changed my life. I now have the option to wash AND style my hair in the morning. Amaaaaaazing.

For volume roll the brush starting at the scalp. I don’t brush and brush. I position it, rotate it thru and give it a few seconds before releasing it to cool. Constant brushing snd twisting would increase dry time and chance for breaking hair.

It looks like he has some Botox and minor fillers. Nonetheless he looks fantastic and did not over do it. He is beautiful
I got this at Christmas and need to see how to actually use it properly so this video is needed 😂😂

Wendy Riebe I'm glad you're happy with yours.

Got for my birthday last year from my mother. She got me the HotTools one.... and I love it.
Me! I bought it at Ulta when it came out, love it!
Thank you! I’m definitely trying it!
ua-cam.com/video/NMAGY3rpgdI/v-deo.html
@Kelz marie. Really great tip. My hair is very porous, so my stylist lets me dry under the hood and then blow out! Works like a charm.
